She just seems so nice and unaffected, especially considering the amazing life and attention she’s had. Never seem to hear a bad word about her and she still looks good!
I just basically want to be her and have had her life 🤣

Was Jamie Hinckley before or after Pete?

Dalaidramailama · 02/09/2022 14:39

@LuckySantangelo35

but I don’t view cheekbones and defined jaws as the epitome of beauty. Drugs or not. I know that’s difficult for you to understand as you’re very invested in this KM topic.

Hince I mean

Her cheekbones weren’t overly noticeable in the very early photos but they did appear during her heroin chic reign. I’m not a fan of sticky out jaw bones due to under eating/drug abuse and the Kardashian’s are an awful comparison.

She's always had high cheekbones. Regardless of her weight they'll always be high as its her bone structure.

SemperIdem · 02/09/2022 14:41

@EachandEveryone

Hinch was after Doherty

@Dalaidramailama

thats fine but u must realise that lots of people do hence she has been successful model for so long and why people like Jonny depp, Angelina Jolie and Audrey Hepburn are considered so good looking

Dalaidramailama · 02/09/2022 14:47

@LuckySantangelo35

yes I absolutely do realise that hence why I originally commented saying I just didn’t get all the fuss over her. If I could magically wake up as someone beautiful and famous/have their life I wouldn’t pick KM.

I would totally pick me to be honest 😂😂😂 jokes! KM is better looking than me.

gyurghle · 02/09/2022 14:48

cheekbones and defined bone structure does not equal drugs and anorexia lol

who knew people thought this 😆

FayeGovan · 02/09/2022 14:51

Didnt i read almost the exact same thread last month?

Greensleeves · 02/09/2022 15:18

I tend to reserve my admiration for women who have actually done something. Not snivelling bagheads with no discernible talent.

eatingapie · 02/09/2022 15:44

I don’t find her cool because her whole ‘brand’ is what conventionally edgy 17 year olds think is cool - which isn’t it! She’s the spirit of getting messily pissed at a house party in 6th form and giving the guy your best friend fancies a blow job. I mean there’s a place for that but it’s not exactly aspirational!

MistyRock · 02/09/2022 15:59

I don't see that, she generally has long term relationships. I think I like her because at the time she was very famous I was in my early teens and life was exciting.

notwavingbutdrowning1 · 02/09/2022 16:03

I'm neither a fan nor not-a-fan. But I do think she has an unusual chameleon quality. She can be girl next door in one photo, total vamp in another - but is always unmistakably Kate Moss. Yes, it's just her looks, the luck of the draw, but you can be fascinated by a beautiful face in the same way as a beautiful painting.

Having said that, I bet if she hadn't kept her mouth shut for decades, she wouldn't be half as fascinating. I do admire her for keeping quiet though - far preferable to oversharing. You get the impression she was too busy living her life to bang on about it in the media.

gyurghle · 02/09/2022 16:05

I think it's unusual particularly in the celeb world that she's had the same friends for decades, she's also had the same PA for years.

@IcedPurple why do you think a short person is not attractive enough to be a ramp model? Do you find plus size models unattractive too? It was in 80s/90s that models needed to be tall. You don't know if she would've been a successful model today. In today's world beauty standards are not as rigid like in past. Good on Lila Moss for trying to be a model in an industry dominated by tall women

Yes, good on Lila Moss trying to make it in the cut throat world of modelling with all the odds stacked against her 😂.

@Beefcurtains79 how funny of you for laughing at a 19 year old.

Yes she had odds stacked against her - lack of health and height privilege. Lila Moss has type 1 diabetes and she models with her insulin pump. Why she needs to have everything all odds stacked against her to be acknowledged.

Kate Moss didnt have that family privilege when she started at 14 but she is criticised here for things she did when she was young. Now the daughter's achievements are dismissed because of her privileged background. Basically they can't win. Maybe only women need to be dismissed for their privileged background not men because there are plenty of very successful men from privileged backgrounds.

Lalalolol · 02/09/2022 16:15

@notwavingbutdrowning1
I agree with you that we still have to go a long way but there is more diversity today than in 90s. Until a few years ago, there wasn't even one plus size model and people like Madeline Stuart had no chance in modelling world. At least things are moving in right direction. I hope your daughter is able to fulfil her dreams.

notwavingbutdrowning1 · 02/09/2022 16:25

I hope your daughter is able to fulfil her dreams.

Thank you, @Lalalolol, but she doesn't actually want to be a model - rather to my relief. I must say, I think it's pretty irresponsible of model scouts to approach children (though I was with my DD at the time) and I don't understand why 15-year-olds are still modelling. There should be an age threshold.

JaneFondue · 02/09/2022 16:27

I am struggling to think of any style icons I like. I think I have forgotten what style is in the pandemic, and it no longer seems very important? I dunno.

The other day I saw someone who looked like Sarah Gilbert in IKEA and got very excited. I don't think it was her. But I seem to have grown out of style icons.

ArabeI · 02/09/2022 17:37

I love her high cheekbones and bone structure. There's a model who reminded me of her, who fairly recently modelled for Chanel. I can't recall the name.

whereeverilaymycat · 03/09/2022 09:54

Ihaveanoldiphone · 01/09/2022 12:21

i loved that she had a similar body type to me and was considered beautiful. I felt validated because in real life I was body shamed for being ‘too skinny’ etc and no, I wasn’t anorexic I’m still quite thin despite having 2 kids. I really liked her dress sense too, timeless unlike the trash they where nowadays. I like how she was a private person and not desperate for attention. I thought she was cool and I was never tempted to smoke or do drugs. Just something about her attitude.

Pretty much what I came on to say. She also helped me accept my flat chest! In the 00's especially, everyone had a boob job it seems.
Whatever you think of her choices, it's refreshing she's never really needed approval for them. Nowadays we seem to know everything about everyone. The whole never explain, never complain ethos.

isweartoomuch · 05/09/2022 12:29

I admired Nikki and Krissy Taylor back in those days. Kate was just too messy.

A wellness brand by a heavy smoker, drinker and cocaine taker is a bit odd.

🤭🤣

Don’t know much about her apart from she’s a model who went out with JD. She may well be very nice, probably has off days.
Was no doubt perved on as a child by older men, so deserves her wealth! I agree with pp,
I don’t find her drop dead gorgeous either.

moita · 05/09/2022 13:45

Been a fan since I was 14 and still am now at 36! Love her style, sense of humour and the freedom which she lives her life.

At 21 Kate looked like me - no tits and thin.
