She just seems so nice and unaffected, especially considering the amazing life and attention she’s had. Never seem to hear a bad word about her and she still looks good!
I just basically want to be her and have had her life 🤣

KM’s Desert Island Discs was interesting - but her “I can tell a wrong ‘un a mile away” made me Hmm given her choice in men.

AprilRae91 · 01/09/2022 12:03

She spoke very well at the depp vs heard trial

Festoonlights · 01/09/2022 12:03

I am naturally very thin, so bloody what?

It doesn't give you the right to say stupid things especially when you know your words carry more weight, and therefore you have a responsibility to be mindful - but I guess if you are coked up most of the time, you are going to blurt out stuff that you will come to regret sooner or later.

Honestly? too many women to count off the top of my head. So many beautiful women out there. Just never got the total fawning over Kates looks that’s all.

I feel Kate has been violated and taken advantage of for most of her young adult life to a sickening degree. So I am not really coveting her life to be honest, as much of it has been a car crash and she is lucky to walk away in one piece given what she has been exposed to (many didn't)

I hope the next chapter will bring her health, peace and a chilled out existence that doesn't include ravaging her body with drugs and drink.

She is very far from a good example/role model

But why does she need to be a good example or role model? She is just living her life and certainly I'm not aware of her setting herself up as such. Perhaps she prefers being a cautionary tale 😁. Looks like waaaaay more fun

She was/is a drug addict that inspired anorexia in millions of young girls, apart from that she is great 🙄

'Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels'
Springs to my mind.

She was a very young girl, a cog in an industry run mainly by men, that worships the unhealthily thin to this day. But yeah, her fault.

Being a successful model isn't just about being 'beautiful' though. It's about being photogenic and fitting in to a certain 'look'. Kate Moss was perfect for the 'heroin chic' image of that era. I'm not sure if she'd be anywhere near as successful today. Probably too short for starters.

boatahoy · 01/09/2022 12:08

I really like Kate Moss too. Despite the life she's had she still comes across as very down to earth and doesn't take herself too seriously.

Exactly!

not everyone has to be a role model all of the bloody time

her job was to look a certain way and look great photos - which she did/does. That’s her job, not to be a role model.

some v pious holier than thou attitudes on here

Dalaidramailama · 01/09/2022 12:10

@IcedPurple

Yes I’m sure. I’m 33 so I was a kid in the 90s, so yeah the whole Kate thing clearly passed me by.

boatahoy · 01/09/2022 12:10

She's very photogenic and even today I think she would still have done very well!

boatahoy · 01/09/2022 12:10

She'd probably be considered too short for a catwalk model today. She might have got work but I don't think she'd be the sensation she was back then.

susan12345678 · 01/09/2022 12:12

.I’m not sure if she'd be anywhere near as successful today. Probably too short for starters

Well her daughter is even shorter than her (and much less attractive) and walking on catwalks now!

I love Kate Moss, she’s an icon

problembottom · 01/09/2022 12:14

Her Easyjet "basic bitch" rant story when the plane ran out of food was very funny. I think she'd been away on holiday with Sadie Frost on some extreme diet and they were starving. Can just imagine the scenes.

I like her as an old-school celebrity but certainly don't look up to her in any way.

Well yes, but that's classic nepotism.

Lila Moss is frankly quite average looking and no way would she be near a professional modelling contract if her mother were not Kate Moss.

Whichwhatnow · 01/09/2022 12:14

I agree! A lot of people judged her on the Pete Docherty ketamine addiction episode. I think she'd be very fun to hang out with! Also the White Stripes video with her is fantastic

fancytulip · 01/09/2022 12:16

She's very likeable

Dalaidramailama · 01/09/2022 12:16

@IcedPurple

Yep, professional contacts that’s all.

She wouldn’t be an icon today.

greywinds · 01/09/2022 12:16

KM will have a team of people whose job it is to make her look relatable to us so that we go and buy her products from her new wellness brand. I hope she's had fun in her life, it looks like she may have from the outside but I'm a bit cynical that most of these interviews are much more than very carefully created infomercials.

About24 · 01/09/2022 12:18

Genetically blessed and she played it well.

Lucky her, that's all I can say. Had a been so well provided for by the mixing of my parental DNA I'd have been glad to live many parts of her life.

Although she's done all the 'fashion' stuff she does seem to be separate from it. I'm not sure why she's a loner in the whole thing but she stands apart from the rest of the crowd.

I worry though that humans focus on beauty, physical beauty and accolade it to the point of giving us all problems with self-hatred for not living up to those impossible ideals.

I can't blame her though. Who else wouldn't have grabbed the chance with both arms, given the same face and body in the same place in time.

You need to do a bit of research about the skinny thing.

mydogisthebest · 01/09/2022 12:19

I don't see any reason to be jealous of her.

I also have never thought she was attractive. Also far too skinny.

I don't agree with drug taking and think anyone that does so is an idiot.

Ihaveanoldiphone · 01/09/2022 12:21

i loved that she had a similar body type to me and was considered beautiful. I felt validated because in real life I was body shamed for being ‘too skinny’ etc and no, I wasn’t anorexic I’m still quite thin despite having 2 kids. I really liked her dress sense too, timeless unlike the trash they where nowadays. I like how she was a private person and not desperate for attention. I thought she was cool and I was never tempted to smoke or do drugs. Just something about her attitude.

Missillusioned · 01/09/2022 12:21

I've no strong feelings either way about Kate Moss but the contentious quote from her wasn't original, it's been in popular use for decades.

And more lives are lost due to obesity than anorexia.
