Has anyone seen the recent tweet about her pawning/selling three diamond engagement rings? Aibu to think if you are pleading poverty and asking the general public to donate money one week and then showing off pictures of three massive diamonds you own the next, it's never going to go down well? Especially when you are already being challenged on lying and grifting?

For a long time I thought JM was nothing but a force of a good but I can't understand how she can be so tone deaf. It can't be deliberate but equally how can she not realise how it looks to produce three huge rings just a week after claiming she's so skint she needs handouts.

Apologies if there's already a thread on this.

Wow. I don't think Jack is going to be happy about that, and I'm already feeling bad about the pasting the writer will get.

ChutneyVirgin · 30/08/2022 07:33

Loving her sudden realisation of the rabid followers that she stirs up

she knows exactly what she’s doing. I’m glad she’s still going to Alcoholics Anonymous

WhereAreMyAirpods · 30/08/2022 07:42

All the critics are just dimissed as TERFs or Tories though. It's such lazy thinking.

category12 · 30/08/2022 07:50

I'm glad she's deleted it and made the apology, but it took a looooong time, leaving that poor guy thinking a hundred-odd people hated him.

And the "I then went to take a local AA meeting"? All day? While tweeting other stuff in between. Chinny reckon.

Well, they did hate him. Because she told them to by having a go at him in the first place.

A sensible person wouldn't have tweeted that abuse in the first place would then block the people who carried on the abuse she started as nobody needs that sort of follower on SM. But then who would tweet things like 'don't be so hard on yourself, it's an easy mistake to make when tweets aren't worded clearly, we misunderstood too'?

category12 · 30/08/2022 08:01

"I admire you even more now!" etc etc. Sickening.

I found the way she explained how Patreon worked very clear and useful and I think she tried to be scrupulously fair in the breakdown of possible income. It won't be seen like that by the "fans", sadly, on past evidence.

The rabid and unquestioning support for total strangers that seems to be a feature of some "followings" bemuses me. All reason, balance and discernment seems to be abandoned and they take on the characteristics of a torch wielding mob. Part of maturity is surely realising that even our greatest heroes have flaws and in some cases we are deceived by people, intentionally or otherwise.

JubileeTrifle · 30/08/2022 08:45

Doesn’t tell all her followers to apologise and think about how they treat people. It’s all me
me me.
It’s obviously not AA she needs to be going to.

OneTC · 30/08/2022 09:10

Quotes from that thread about "such an easy mistake to make"

In fact often I find myself in the position of accidentally abusing vulnerable people, no actually wait a second... What?

And the detail about AA. Pity me. She probably pretends to have been an alkie to make herself more interesting anyway, just like everything else is made up to cover the fact that her only saleable talent is deception

ClaudineClare · 30/08/2022 11:30

The whole Karl debacle and something else that has just clicked in my brain ...indefensible.

SplatPancake · 30/08/2022 11:33

Yes- it’s just appalling — her behaviour but more the mindless, almost slavish, behaviour of her followers just joining in on the pile-on. Disgusting.

What's the something else?

ClaudineClare · 30/08/2022 13:39

@category12 just something she tweeted a few days ago which made me go hmmmm after a more recent tweet. Not going to be any more specific on here though, sorry! Nothing earth shattering, but planted seeds of doubt for me.

EarringsandLipstick · 30/08/2022 21:51

Her apology to Karl was so utterly performative & focused on herself. It was quite awful to read.

She is thriving so much on all the attention she is receiving. It's kind of defeating the purpose, of Awfully Molly etc. the best outcome would be for her to be completely ignored really.

Rantypanties · 30/08/2022 23:08

the Twitter attacks are fucking disgusting and she is getting a sick pleasure from it all. She is a horrible narcissist and I really hope media big wigs are watching this mess.

hop321 · 30/08/2022 23:15

I'm relatively new to her Twitter feed (though I'd heard of her). Why she chose to attack as a knee-jerk reaction yesterday is beyond me. Either ignore it or be vaguely classy with a measured response.

She's like a Twitter street-fighter but there's really no need to be so vile and aggressive. Particularly given her hypocrisy in calling out the slightest hint of that when it's aimed at her. Practise what you preach.

category12 · 30/08/2022 23:45

Yeah, she's all #be kind when it suits her, but has gleefully talked about sending out her followers to offending accounts. 🙄

donquixotedelamancha · 31/08/2022 00:42

As I said upthread- I think she is gleeful about generating controversy and hostility because that makes her money. I am sure she is unwell but that doesn't mean she isn't also calculating and clever.

That said, ignoring her won't work because she will continue to profit from false claims. If her falsehoods become widely known most people giving her money will eventually drift away or eventually the ridiculous claims will bite her in the arse (ironically in the same way Katie Hopkins imploded).

Clymene · 31/08/2022 06:02

I think she's being exposed as someone who repeatedly punches down - at the start of her career by describing the working class as tracksuit wearing scumbags and still doing it today by flying into a narc rage at a man with learning difficulties.

I doubt that will do her career any favours

category12 · 31/08/2022 07:19

She's got 570k followers or more, so telling little accounts to essentially fuck off is like Godzilla mashing a rottweiler.

It's just so unprofessional. I guess social media influencing is an uneasy blend of making people you don't know think you're friends, and selling your product. But I think she's got the balance wrong and I don't think the drooling sycophants help by praising her like she's the 2nd coming whatever she does.

What makes people lose their actual minds like that?

That's true, good points

Bubblebubblebah · 31/08/2022 09:00

I think she is reading threads everywhere and took some pointers.
She actually retweeted an ACTUAL advice from ML. Is that the first?

Tbh I think you can pan out narcissits just simply by what is their pinned tweet. Is it a vid of you on telly with no actual advice or is it bunch of links or @ to places you can get help from?🤷🏻

Her Twitter persona and TV persona are worlds apart. I almost couldn't believe the shy, wobbly-voiced, expression-like-she-was-about-to-burst-into-tears person was the same loudmouthed, aggressive, vile ranting person on Twitter. Keyboard warrior/Twitter street-fighter is apt!

Keyansier · 31/08/2022 09:18

^ First paragraph was hop's post.

category12 · 31/08/2022 09:45

Oh wow, she's been arguing on Twatter that she was fooled by journalists into saying the Jeremy Kyle comments about what working class people are like, but someone posted up a link to her speech in parliament . She literally wrote it and said it link to speech

Her pants must be asbestos.
