Has anyone seen the recent tweet about her pawning/selling three diamond engagement rings? Aibu to think if you are pleading poverty and asking the general public to donate money one week and then showing off pictures of three massive diamonds you own the next, it's never going to go down well? Especially when you are already being challenged on lying and grifting?

For a long time I thought JM was nothing but a force of a good but I can't understand how she can be so tone deaf. It can't be deliberate but equally how can she not realise how it looks to produce three huge rings just a week after claiming she's so skint she needs handouts.

Apologies if there's already a thread on this.

I guess she has the £20 shopping budget for demonstrating how poor people can stretch their money to the middle class & luvvies, for the Right to weaponise.

And a second budget for her cookery. Maybe it's tax-deductible?

The contradiction is so blatant, it makes your head spin.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 28/08/2022 10:37

It's deliberate trolling IMO. Jack thrives on the attention.

monroedoubter · 28/08/2022 10:59

What is she talking about here? Fridge thing?

  • the shopping yesterday then cooking with completely different, clearly bought on another shopping trip & expensive ingredients, today is absolutely enraging. Are you feeding your household on £20 or not? Or being sponsored by Asda #ad?

I used to really like Jack :-( I'm not a jackal (?) or part of a cabal (?). I'm just disillusioned and cross that there are clearly so many contradictions, tall tales and blatant lies.

And now she is in a twitter row (what is fridge thing?) so, of course, she has toothache!!!

Does she mean freezer?

JubileeTrifle · 28/08/2022 11:39

She was talking about getting a lower wattage fridge or something that doesn’t exist. I think she’s deleted the tweets when people pointed that out.
She was up through the night asking about putting a gas oven where a gas radiator is. She thinks radiators are full of gas apparently. Which is great knowledge for someone who was in the fire service. She seems to be, trying to put this in a nice way, hyper? What the cause of that is I wouldn’t like to guess.

Thesearmsofmine · 28/08/2022 14:08

I used to like her too, but this £20 shop is just meaningless when she has a kitchen full of ingredients. People who have to stick to a tight budget every week long term don’t happen to have a freezer full of expensive fish and steak and leftover blue cheese. They might have the end of a block of cheddar and a pack of mince and some dried mixed herbs or.they might not have anything at all. She is catering for the middle class audience she has.

Bubblebubblebah · 28/08/2022 14:27

Absolutely. I don't believe for a sec that people don't look at her "poor budget" cooking and don't think "erm that's treat even for me. The poor aren't that poor eh!".
Not saying poor don't deserve treats but everyone knows that if you have to be careful with money you just don't splash budget on one meal when it could make 3...

Againstmachine · 28/08/2022 15:34

Exactly I'd imagine most of her followers and people who love her are middle class and have no idea what real poverty is like.

Basically they will be sat there and it will be "look what that dear jack is doing, she is wonderful isn't she dear, now pour us another glass"

I don't think jacks experienced real poverty either as I doubt her described poverty story's.

Todays adventures on Twitter have included some sniping at a newspaper columnist for questioning the validity of the £20 shop. This is a bold move, on top of all of the questions and inconsistencies already published. Jack is going to end up pissing the wrong people off - it would not take much at all for the whole ‘saint or scammer’ narrative to hit print media now.

I agree, she really needs to stop tweeting. The more she posts the more people she pisses off. Many only know her as someone who used to struggle and who campaigns and tries to help those who are in same position she once was. It will only take one scathing article to change public opinion of her, and we all know how well she takes criticism...

Surely it would be far more beneficial to do an actual full weekly shop to illustrate how much it costs to feed a family if 2 adults and children rather that whatever this pointless exercise!

Well no because then you couldn't get buzz on twitter AND enjoy nice steak

I agree she needs to stop tweeting and I've said before I wish the people who care about her would just make her stop!

But I differ from many on here in not thinking she is an out and out crook.
I think she genuinely believes she is helping people and feels a responsibility to keep doing what she's doing.

At the same time, it's completely understandable that she's all over the place at the moment. Her supporters are giving her huge validation - hence the addiction to tweeting - but her attackers are putting every aspect of her life (shoes! carrier bags! cheese sandwich! bad parent! Botox!) under the most minute scrutiny.

It would drive anyone crazy.

She desperately needs someone in her team to make her step back, regroup, and formulate some kind of rational response to the AW allegations. But there's no sign that is likely to happen. Just such a mess.

BishyBarnyBee · 28/08/2022 18:08

AM not AW

KermitlovesKeyLimePie · 28/08/2022 18:29

@BishyBarnyBee TBF those scrutinizing her so closely now may well be victims of her scam.

Indeed on this thread one PP admits that she sent her £10 very recently and now feels cheated by all the lies.

I can imagine being pissed off and scrutinizing every last penny in that circumstance, when their only intention was one of good and a genuine desire to help.

That money could have gone to a much needier cause and I suspect it is an extra slap in the face and extra galling now JM has admitted that she it NOT poor, nor has been for some time.

I am not on Twitter or subscribe to her blogs etc so don't know what the current status is. Does she still have links up for Patreon and a tip jar?

Since the revelation that she is no longer poor, one would assume that all begging links have been removed.

JubileeTrifle · 28/08/2022 18:37

She’s being a twat today. She’s been rude to someone who says they struggle with cooking and their disability by replying she’s disabled, helpful (and obviously she was able to walk to and from to Asda with a backpack and 2 bags yesterday).
Shes also DESPERATELY trying to make out she grew up in poverty. Her parents had a 5 bedroom detached house in Thorpe Bay and her dad was a senior firefighter. She always goes on about how little food there was etc, I’m sure social services should have said something about that seeing as they were fostering children. But there was money for ballet and music lessons etc of course.
DH grew up in a one bedroom flat with his parent and 2 siblings and his dad was frequently out of work and they had nothing often. She doesn’t know she was born.

Very interesting. Sounds like the family were able to support all the children.

SplatPancake · 28/08/2022 20:19

The Twitter behaviour over the past 48 hours is incredibly alarming. I hope that her son is safe with his dad, and that her family can step in soon. At least take her phone away - she clearly has a problem with this stuff.
