To hate dry texters?

I don't know why but it irks me. I don't get how you can be dry or why they are. I feel like if they're not matching the way I speak then what's the point ..

I hate emojis. My teens say I must be angry if I use punctuation.

It’s a sad day that punctuation is now associated with anger. Lack of punctuation annoys me!

I'm guessing you're quite young. Absolutely nothing wrong with a simple text - xxx or oooo or emojis. I prefer it.

Can you remember though when texting first came out there were NO emojis ??? How did we manage then? ( misses point of thread )

Oh dear, I've always dabbed my texts with a piece of kitchen paper to make sure that they are dry before I send
them, because the guys in IT said if texts are wet they can stick together and very occasionally short the Internet out.

I don't like soggy texters. So I guess we're even.

Words and no kisses here (unless I am messaging the kids). I hate random kissers.

I’d no idea what you were talking about until someone explained. However, my SIL uses loads of emoji’s in her texts and I’ve no idea what she’s on about half the time!

I message with this guy. When we started 2 years ago he used to put one x at the end of his messages and I felt I had to match him. After a while he upped it to xx and again I matched. This then became xxx which became a chore to add after every single text. When he increased it recently to xxxx I deliberately reduced mine to xx to make a point. He's still putting xxxx and it drives me mad. Just why?

I’m probably a “dry” texter but I do think undemonstrative texts can come across as a bit unfriendly if you’re not careful. Had a misunderstanding with mum today when she had suggested something and I’d replied saying I’d let her know, and she replied:

“Gracious.”

and I couldn’t understand it but she sounded pissed off. Was she sarcastically saying I was gracious to have said I’d let her know? Or was it more like “good gracious”. Either way, I thought I’d somehow offended her so decided I should probably call and sort it out. Turns out she had been trying to type “gracias” 😂

Does this mean people who use multiple emojis and kisses are wet texters? Ugh
