I don't know why but it irks me. I don't get how you can be dry or why they are. I feel like if they're not matching the way I speak then what's the point ..

exnewwifeproblems · 06/08/2022 18:38

emojis! ffs can't believe I did that.

DaanSaaf · 06/08/2022 18:38

What is dry texting?

BitOutOfPractice · 06/08/2022 18:38

Another thread where I literally have no idea what you are talking about

BlueKaftan · 06/08/2022 18:39

🙄

KalaniM · 06/08/2022 18:39

what does dry mean in this context?!

TimeForTeaAndG · 06/08/2022 18:39

Cos not everyone feels the need to use emojis. Cos some people prefer talking to messaging. Cos people are different. Some people might think what's the point in wasting time adding emojis and messaging.

DoverShortcutPlan · 06/08/2022 18:39

Eh?

MeanderingGently · 06/08/2022 18:40

What the hell is a dry texter?? New term to me, and I text lot.
I don't use emojis and stuff, or perhaps that's not what you mean??

Alloftheboys · 06/08/2022 18:40

Are you looking forward to starting Year 9 in September OP?

Nope, I read this several times, and have no idea what you are trying to say.

Could you possibly rephrase it?

WaveyHair · 06/08/2022 18:41

🤔🙋

PurplePansy05 · 06/08/2022 18:41

I can't stand people texting on insta messengers, such as Whatsapp, with multiple kisses in every single message, even after a simple "Yes. xxx". Just why? I don't do this, it's a waste of time IMO. Does this mean I hate them? Absolutely not. People don't need to adjust their texting style to match yours, OP.

StillHappy · 06/08/2022 18:41

I just noticed from your name that you may not be English, is this patois?

MolkosTeenageAngst · 06/08/2022 18:42

I don’t understand what dry texting is; some people don’t use kisses and emojis etc but isn’t that just personal preference? Is there more to it than that?

CuriousCatfish · 06/08/2022 18:42

🤦

LubaLuca · 06/08/2022 18:42

I'm reminded of the phrase 'dry humping', which seems to have died off (as a phrase, not sure if it's still an activity).

I've learned something about myself today - I'm a dry texter. Woo!

exnewwifeproblems · 06/08/2022 18:42

I don't use emojis. I just use words.

Tiani4 · 06/08/2022 18:44

I think I know what you mean OP
My DS is a logical man
His texts are very concise and dry
Even when he's making a joke

You get used to who you are talking to on texts as everyone has a style

EmmaC78 · 06/08/2022 18:45

I am proud to be a dry texter, I hate people that go overboard with emoji's and xxx's, it's totally pointless.

I think you'll find Scottish people still talk English 🙄

And also have no clue what dry texting is

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 06/08/2022 18:56

If you send an emoji on text, l think you get charged as a picture message? So l never send emoji unless it is on WhatsApp

corlan · 06/08/2022 18:58

YANBU 😉 xx
