My boyfriend's a guitarist and is playing with a group as stand-in. They have GROUPIES. Actual groupies. Women of a certain age (40 ish) who slavishly follow the group from concert to concert, sit at their table to eat (pay for their own food) and literally have their tongues hanging out. Clap feverishly every 5 minutes.

Unless your boyfriend and the rest of the band are spitroasting these women “of a certain age” in the backstage area then they’re probably just fans who you’re in contempt of.

Leave them be. They're not hurting you. You're being judgemental and probably insecure.

Actually, in this heat it may help them to cool down. The literally throwing themselves at the band does sound reckless and dangerous, though.

Are you getting annoyed with these women because it’s easier than admitting you don’t totally trust your boyfriend around them?

I think groupies love the music soooo much they seek to be closer to it. And let's face it, playing rock music to a jumping audience is cool. Hanging with the people who make the cool makes you a bit cooler.

As well tho, it's not very nice. They are not respected, although many nauseating rock stars say they only do it for the fans. It's not cool to be a groupie. What's cool is to write the music. That's the holy grail...

What relevance is their age? Sounds completely appropriate considering the band members are also around their 40s!!
