Comedycook · 10/07/2022 10:35

Yeah pretty much the same here in suburban London

WardrobeWoes · 10/07/2022 10:36

V cheap

SnowyLamb · 10/07/2022 10:37

It's about what I was paying before lockdown, but mine is £53 now.

BashfulClam · 10/07/2022 10:38

I pay £38 at a local salon and tip £5.

liveforsummer · 10/07/2022 10:38

That's what what mine charges - small independent but nice salon outside of the city centre. You'd pay a lot more elsewhere but there is also cheaper in the more basic salons and as you go further out the city some more

frenchie4002 · 10/07/2022 10:38

Sounds about right if not slightly on the cheap side for South East

AtillatheHun · 10/07/2022 10:39

That’s what I’ve been quoted for a child cut next week 😱

Jibberty · 10/07/2022 10:39

£110, SW London. So painful I only go once a year.

hallodarknessmyoldfriend · 10/07/2022 10:39

I wish. 85 for me, but my hair is pretty long and they charge based on hair length.

EmoIsntDead · 10/07/2022 10:39

I’m in the west end of Glasgow and pay £70 for a cut & blow dry.

Evenstar · 10/07/2022 10:39

I was paying that in 2019 so expect it would be more now. I have a mobile hairdresser now, £20 for a cut, wash it before she comes and dry it myself.

Comedycook · 10/07/2022 10:40

110 for a haircut and blow-dry? Why do you pay that? Is it a brilliant cut? There will be loads and loads of places in SW London that charge way less than that

LemonRedwood · 10/07/2022 10:41

I pay £62, prices went up recently, used to be £57. But that is for one of the senior stylists, there are others in the salon who are around the £40-50 bracket.

Scoobyblue · 10/07/2022 10:41

Central-ish london - I pay £85.

I don't understand why a cut is more expensive on long hair? I can understand colouring but just a cut? Why? Surely it doesn't make much difference if you're trimming the ends?

TheFormidableMrsC · 10/07/2022 10:43

£25 for me but I'm in the sticks and it's a home salon so she can be more competitive.

cushioncovers · 10/07/2022 10:43

Do people really pay this? Can't you blow dry your own hair when you get home? Do salon's not offer just a wet cut?

fairgame84 · 10/07/2022 10:44

I pay the same at my local salon. It's double that at a city centre salon.

That is exactly what I was thinking... just dry it yourself at home?

PinkWisteria · 10/07/2022 10:44

£25 at my local salon

NeverDropYourMooncup · 10/07/2022 10:45

Wish I could find somewhere that did all that for so little.

OK, DP can just about manage to cut an even line as long as I doublecheck he's using the freshly sharpened hairdressing scissors and not the ones in the kitchen drawer he won't do that again in a hurry, so it costs me nothing other than my blood pressure and sometimes an extra four inches off the length because he occasionally mistakes my jawline for 'just above my shoulders, here', but if they were only £45, I'd be there straight away instead.

BrownHairedQuirk · 10/07/2022 10:45

£30 for a wet cut, no blow dry and I don’t want to pay for it!
