How does compare to what you pay please?

I'm very lucky as my ex salon hairdresser now works from her garden salon
I have very short hair and pay £40 for colour cut and blow dry every 6 weeks
Her ex salon would charge £85
However I am disabled with one useless arm... and it's my " luxury"!

uncomfortablydumb53 · 10/07/2022 13:58

Oh I'm in a Wiltshire town

WakeyCakeyHeart · 10/07/2022 14:02

25 Including keratin treatment but my bf is a hairdresser and I tip her well and treat her to nice lunches :-) I recently had full head balayage, cut and blow for £50, but I gave her an extra 20...she's a diamond :-)

makingmyway10 · 10/07/2022 14:06

£60 for me. £160 for cut , colour and blow dry.

SwedishEdith · 10/07/2022 14:11

£42 last week. Decent salon, NW city suburbs. For me, the blow dry lasts about 5 or 6 days so no way would I miss out on that bit. Only go about 4 times per year.

Talia99 · 10/07/2022 14:12

£49 for most junior stylist to do cut and blow dry. Increasing amounts up to (I think) £89 for most senior stylist.

SwedishEdith · 10/07/2022 14:14

Why? Confused Why can you not blow dry it yourself?

It's simply not as good as a hairdresser doing it. Mine has about 4 or 5 rounded brushes in my hair at the same time.

2bazookas · 10/07/2022 14:30

Same here (Scotland)

SnowyLamb · 10/07/2022 14:38

A decent hairdresser won't let you leave the salon without "finishing" the style. What you look like when you walk out is a reflection on them, they don't want you going out with half done or wet hair, even if you can finish it yourself.

SummerSazz · 10/07/2022 14:58

I pay £15 for mine and £10 each for the teens and DH every 6-7 weeks). None of yes really has a style so more of a straight trim and no blow dry. She is only here (mobile) for about 20 mins so £45 not too bad (+ she doesn't have to travel far)

MrsHughesPinny · 10/07/2022 15:00

A real bargain! Mine is about 75.

lioncitygirl · 10/07/2022 15:01

I pay £75-£85

UrsulaBursula · 10/07/2022 15:02

Very reasonable. London

Doveyouknow · 10/07/2022 15:02

Central ish London. I pay £45 plus tip. I go 1-2 a year.

goldfinchonthelawn · 10/07/2022 15:07

Really good value in comparison with what I have been paying, which was around £70-80. Just found someone who will do it for £58 and who is good.

I've decided to stop giving a tip though. The prices are too silly.

Pickingmyselfup · 10/07/2022 15:10

I pay £67 for a full head of highlights, olaplex, wash, cut, blow dry.

I'm in the Midlands which helps but it's very cheap even for round here. I'm really happy with the job they do though. Tried it out feeling a bit dubious due to it not being in the nicest of locations but they did a much better job than the salon a mile up the road which I paid over £80 for back in 2019.

I was told that too. We don't send people out with wet hair.

I pay £80 (SE England)

lancsgirl85 · 10/07/2022 15:25

£27

lancsgirl85 · 10/07/2022 15:25

That's north east England

Danikm151 · 10/07/2022 15:30

I got a groupon for £15

Transformatio · 10/07/2022 15:39

This is £59/54/49/44 depend on who you have at the salon I go to.
I usually pay the £59 for the senior director (not real decision in this - just who I was booked with and then that continued) but last time I had the senior stylist at £49 as senior director not available. Cut was just as good so I'm sticking with the senior stylist now.

Intransigentcat · 10/07/2022 15:40

Exactly what mine charges OP. City centre location, independent salon. Ooop north

KensingtonGore · 10/07/2022 15:50

I paid exactly £45 last week in a ‘nice’ salon in the high street of a posh* Midland suburb.

For full information, the cut is pretty crap, now it hasn’t been blow-dried straight, and I’m not very happy with it.

(* It thinks it’s posh, at least).

WeAreBob · 10/07/2022 15:52

I pay £40 in a hairdressers in a small town next to my small town. If I go into the city, it seems to start at around £90.
