As above.

How does compare to what you pay please?

That's relatively cheap.

DisforDarkChocolate · 10/07/2022 11:13

Exactly the same as I pay

Do people really pay this? Can't you blow dry your own hair when you get home? Do salon's not offer just a wet cut?

My salon doesn't openly offer it, as I it's not on the price list, but I've heard people pay for a "blast dry" rather than a blow dry when they're getting their colour done.

My friend lived in Germany for a couple of years, apparently it's quite common for hair salons there to ask if you want your hair blow dried or if you want to leave with wet hair and do it yourself at home.

thegreylady · 10/07/2022 11:14

I pay £35 at a local salon about every 2-3 months.

Linnet · 10/07/2022 11:15

£58 my hairdresser is a senior stylist though, I could have it a bit cheaper if I went to one of the other girls.

Goldengoosey · 10/07/2022 11:15

I pay the same for a trim and blow dry. If it’s a restyle it’s more. I’m in Scotland and get it trimmed every 6 weeks. I used to pay over a 100 quid for a cut and blow dry before I moved house and salon. You wear your hair every day so if you’re happy with the cut and can afford it, it’s worth it.

No mine doesn't because they often continue cutting when it's dry. I wouldn't want to go to a salon that was happy to let clients leave with wet hair because they can't see how it's settled.

I pay £49

girlfriend44 · 10/07/2022 11:10

How often do you have it done.

Me about 7 to 8 weeks.

I go every 12 weeks.

Try looking to see if any local colleges have a hair salon, it takes longer but is much cheaper. I get mine blow dried there if I've got a special occasion, costs a fiver for a blow dry on it's own, £12 for a cut and blow dry.

Gremlinsattack · 10/07/2022 11:16

£28
I'm in the northwest.

BalloonsAndWhistles · 10/07/2022 11:22

I’d say that’s pretty good, even before lockdown.

Salons don't send you out with wet hair.

The salon I go to dosent do dry cuts.

45 is the cheapest it goes up from there.

Of course they do!

I have incredibly curly hair and would never have a blow dry. Every stylist I’ve had has always suggested leaving it to dry naturally due to the curls.

Depends on your hair type! I couldn't do that - my hair is curly/frizzy.

I pay 110 for cut/blow dry once a year.

ChipsRoastOrBoiled · 10/07/2022 11:38

£25 in a little village salon in Scotland.

elephantbreathing · 10/07/2022 11:39

£50 for me
Local village hairdresser.

NellesVilla · 10/07/2022 11:41

£0- but I cut and colour my own as I feel I can ruin it just as well as the hairdresser but for free! And I just do a trim anyway- ain’t paying for that!!

HelebethH · 10/07/2022 11:42

Prices have doubled in my area. Grew it longer in lockdown and now just get a trim every 8mths or so. Used to have a bob , but genuinely can no longer afford the prices. I also now go to the local small hairdresser for my trim and they are a little less expensive and lets me give some very limited support to an independant business.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 10/07/2022 11:44

About the same here where I am in Staffordshire. Can't say exactly, as I have my roots done too, which obs adds to it.

Onlyhereforchaletschool · 10/07/2022 11:44

£35 northwest. Was £30 till the pandemic.

WeAllHaveWings · 10/07/2022 11:46

£40 for a cut(trim really)/blowdry every 8-10 weeks.

I went cold turkey and grew out most of my hairdye over lockdowns so at least it is cheaper than having roots/colour done regularly at £70 a pop.

ThinWomansBrain · 10/07/2022 11:47

sounds moderate for a commercial salon.
I use a brilliant social enterprise hairdressers - you pay what you want. I usually aim for their average hourly rate, around £25-£30

Jaxhog · 10/07/2022 11:50

£65 at my local salon. For short thin hair!
£23 for a mobile hairdresser, and I wash my own (now long) hair.

bananaboats · 10/07/2022 11:51

Depends where you are, I'm only £28 but local salon in a small town in Scotland.

TheOGCCL · 10/07/2022 11:52

£60ish, in central London. I'd pay more if I liked the stylist as a good hairdresser is hard to find and you wear your hair every day.
£45 may be a bargain, depends where you live.
Most salons also have different prices for different levels of experience.

Jaxhog · 10/07/2022 11:52

I grew my hair during the lockdown, and live in the SE.

Coastalcreeksider · 10/07/2022 11:52

Last time in salon £36 with a 20% discount voucher, that was about 3 years ago.

Yesterday, £23 with straightened and damp sprayed hair, no blow dry required. This was at home with usual mobile hairdresser.

Won't be returning to salon if I can possibly avoid it. Fortunately she is fairly young so won't be giving up any time soon.
