To hope Johnson doesn't resign?

Because if he clings on until the next GE, he'll be completely unelectable and we'll be rid of the Tories.

I'm hoping he digs his heels in just like he always has, even though by rights he should be fucking off with his tail between his legs.

He didn’t have a party he had a cake
perhais you could kindly explain the differences to your children.

He said he was there for 5 minutes. He lied. It was more like 35 minutes. Forget the word 'party'. Call it a gathering. Children couldn't have a 'gathering'.

Cornettoninja · 06/07/2022 15:42

SueSaid · 06/07/2022 15:40

Well in the pp's household a party is eating cake at work. Sad but true! Grin

So if KS is issued a FPN you will also be vehemently arguing against that injustice?

I won’t be but I’m interested in your lines i the sand.

Provenceinthesummer · 06/07/2022 15:42

I was right - it was only a matter of time before the remainers came for Boris - next will be the resurrection of remain goals/leadership - followed by the total breakdown of our democracy and trust and eventually rioting and civil war.

Quite frankly I am amazed it’s taken this long.

SueSaid · 06/07/2022 15:42

mbosnz · 06/07/2022 15:40

Hmmm, that cake that had empties tumbling out, vomit on the floors and broke the poor kid's swing. That cake?

No. The cake in the office mid working day 'party' that he got an fpn for. That one.

HarrietPierce · 06/07/2022 15:42

JaniieJones ·
"God Tobias Ellwood on the liaison committee. What a tedious drip."

Rather an ex military man on top of his game seriously taking Johnson apart and Johnson who doesn't do detail responding with pathetic bluster.

mbosnz · 06/07/2022 15:43

So not the other ones where he was present.

Roussette · 06/07/2022 15:43

Another resignation. Just want to update.

DuncinToffee · 06/07/2022 15:44

Explain to your children that he broke the laws he made, lied about it and received a FPN for and that it is no big deal?

If only more people had listened to you, your side could have averted this remainer plot. But we were sneaky, we stayed in the shadows and waited. We planted the stupidest, most self-effacing 'leave' mascot PM we could, made sure he degraded the whole enterprise, turning everyone off brexit, and now we reap the reward. EU membership here we come baby!!

SueSaid · 06/07/2022 15:45

'So if KS is issued a FPN you will also be vehemently arguing against that injustice?'

Well I don't know about you but I like a bit of consistency, so they were either allowed to eat and drink at work or they weren't. Same rules should apply for Sir Beer.

<Disclaimer different time frames yes, but indoor mingling not allowed at Durham at that time>

mbosnz · 06/07/2022 15:45

But this is the crux of the matter. Trust and faith has gone. The only way anyone that isn't a rabid tory (yes, Janiie, I know you say you're not, but quite frankly, when it comes to that assertion you have as much credibility as Boris) can know the dude is more likely lying than not, is because his lips are moving.

His own Ministers believe this.

Provenceinthesummer · 06/07/2022 15:45

We are in real trouble as a country now, trust me, we will end up like Brazil or Mexico with the men in the back room calling themselves the invigilators and 1922 committees of grey suited men calling the shots not the votes and certainly not the people- it is fucking chilling.

HannahSternDefoe · 06/07/2022 15:46

WatchoRulo · 06/07/2022 15:04

Well yes and no - if you live a safe seat it won't, due to our shit electoral system.

Fortunately I don't.

Was Labour for decades, then Tory, then Labour, now Tory.

Quite marginal.

apintortwo · 06/07/2022 11:54

let's not act like Boris is a victim

Sure, let him do the dirty work and then discard him. Many of the others would have had a nervous breakdown if faced with a tiny fraction of what this man has been able to pull off

He's not Churchill, even if he thinks, and apparently you as well, that he is.

He's bumbled his way through one crisis to another and those crisis are what have kept him in power because changing PM in the middle of a pandemic isn't a good idea. He's lied and lied and blamed others, and the chickens are coming home to roost.

FemmeNatal · 06/07/2022 15:47

Provenceinthesummer · 06/07/2022 15:07

Ha! Is that what you actually think? Seriously?

How do you think that the UK could rejoin? There doesn’t seem to be any route open to do that.

Blossomtoes · 06/07/2022 15:47

Bye bye, Boris
Boris, bye bye

Blimey, we're turning into Brazil and Mexico! I never saw that one coming!

HarrietPierce · 06/07/2022 15:49

Also JaniieJones, Tobias Ellwood, that "Pathetic drip" you speak of, was the MP who on 22 March 2017, during a terrorist attack on Parliament, gave mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and CPR to police officer Keith Palmer, who later died of his injuries. Ellwood was called a "hero" by those at Westminster and the press, as photos surfaced of him with blood on his face while he crouched over the body of the dying police officer.

Those celebrating are going to regret their posts on here. That much I do know. Do you think
the far right have just disappeared? Or the tens of millions of trusting leave voters? Genuinely I am very worried about what is coming next if this actually happens and the committee over ride their mandate and try to force another vote

Cornettoninja · 06/07/2022 15:50

It's like world war 11

I can see the parallels there (presuming you mean two not eleven and I’m not missing a joke? Confused) but I’m confused where parallels with a civil war are? Lots of civil unrest sure, but that doesn’t automatically lead to civil war. Revolution I could get onboard with.

I’m not really down with the whole ‘Russians and Chinese money meddling in the outcome of a democratic referendum’ thing but I don’t have any desire to completely dismantle the governing structure of the UK to replace it with another structure or set up an independent one. The current players are reprehensible but that doesn’t mean the whole system of government is fundamentally flawed and unsalvageable.

Provenceinthesummer · 06/07/2022 15:51

Fortunately many of us are Tory members

Don't worry, when we rejoin the EU its federal army will keep the far-right at bay.

It can’t be salvaged if the rules are bent at will to remove an elected PM. It is game over.

vera99 · 06/07/2022 15:52

Oh yes a Remainer plot with folk like Andrew Bridgen and Steve Baker and David Davies wanting the Great Liar-on-Chief out.The sooner these deluded souls are cast out into the darkness the better for the country and we can have a grown-up relationship with our European neighbours instead of artificially manufacturing total kultur wars. It may have passed you by that EU imports come in free of all restrictions as JRM said to impose customs controls (you know taking back control of out borders ) would be an act of self harm , whereas the EU just keep doing what they always have done had a club with rules which haven't changed and they continue to enforce whilst our farmers, fishermen, manufacturers and resellers are sacrificed on the altar of rhetoric.

Don't you worry about us.

We'll be fine
