Because if he clings on until the next GE, he'll be completely unelectable and we'll be rid of the Tories.

I'm hoping he digs his heels in just like he always has, even though by rights he should be fucking off with his tail between his legs.

the EU army is a Macron pipe dream so I assume you are joking or maybe you got mixed up - can’t see Germany riding to the rescue 🤣

Perhaps BoJo made mistakes.

But he didn't chicken out and led our country through very difficult times including Brexit and the pandemic.

Can you imagine some of the other bee gazers, who are afraid of their own shadow, constantly pandering to the latest lunacy being in charge?

We would have been utterly stuffed!

He caused the difficult times caused by Brexit, so he can hardly claim credit for leading us through difficult times that he claimed would never happen, can he? The current shitshow around loss of trade, the worst growth in the economy of the G7, Northern Ireland and billions of pounds in financial loses is hardly good leadership, is it?

As for leading us through the pandemic, you only have to compare his performance with that of other world leaders (with exceptions like Trump) to see how badly he did it. Billions of pounds wasted on poor PPE, care homes debacle, loss of money on fraud that they can't be bothered to try to recover? He can't even claim credit for vaccines now we are so far behind on the fourth booster and covid numbers are rising.

SleeplessInEngland · 06/07/2022 15:55

Trivia: the previous record for most government resignations in a single day was 6 in 1932. Today it's 31 (and counting).

Provenceinthesummer · 06/07/2022 15:55

Lets just see what happens…..

Roussette · 06/07/2022 15:56

^^ This. Spain, for instance, has rolled out 4th booster for all citizens. Other European countries are well ahead of us also.

We're about to get rid of Johnson so I wouldn't underestimate us crafty remainers. As you say, our plotting is devious and effective. Everything bad that happens is because of us.

vera99 · 06/07/2022 15:56

Funny that Zelinsky is desperate to join the failing EU and positing the menace of the far-right that might be radicalised if any ground is given stinks of Trump's Capitol Insurrection Proud Boy's dogs whistles.

We are in real trouble as a country now, trust me, we will end up like Brazil or Mexico with the men in the back room calling themselves the invigilators and 1922 committees of grey suited men calling the shots not the votes and certainly not the people- it is fucking chilling.

well we all see things differently don’t we? What I’m seeing is a government that has demonised science, law, education , journalists and if it wasn’t for the restraint of commentators would be accused of facism on a regular basis.

A prime minister who doesn’t have faith in his own party enough to step aside and let a colleague continue his work under the same mandate.

During partygate/VOC BJ’s supporters actually referred to the possibility of ousting him as ‘Regicide’ (killing of a king).

I think that’s all ‘fucking chilling’.

mbosnz · 06/07/2022 15:59

And medicine, don't forget, medicine!

Provenceinthesummer · 06/07/2022 16:00

What a stupid post - science and education etc has not been demonised! Jeez is there nothing you won’t sink to.

balalake · 06/07/2022 16:00

I'd prefer Mr Johnson being imprisoned, but his leaving office would be a step forward.

Twenty thousand people or more won't have the opportunity to celebrate his departure because his neglect in March 2020 means they are dead, deaths which would not have occurred under any other leader, regardless of party.

'This is how UK politics work, happened to plenty of PMs before and thank goodness for that, great they can get rid of ineffectual and grandiose leaders so quickly, let's not act like Boris is a victim, he's done plenty to get himself replaced!'

He has had a 24/7 mainstream media smear campaign going on for the last 2yrs all with the sole aim of getting shot of pesky brexity BJ.

Nothing whatsoever to do with a stream of proven lies, proven corruption, proven lawbreaking, and proven incompetence, then?

AmaryIlis · 06/07/2022 16:02

Summerwhereareyou · 06/07/2022 11:54

Conservatives have just done something on same sex loos.

There is absolutely no way labour would win any elections without sorting out their Stance on what being female means.

Also with momentum in the background would be llike voting in the Tories with the bloody bnp thriving in the party!!

That issue really is not the priority with the electorate that members of the MN feminist boards think it is. Not least because most of the electorate recognises that if the Tories actually cared about this issue they would have done something about it over the last 12 years.

Provenceinthesummer · 06/07/2022 16:04

Labour have no idea what a woman even is!

vera99 · 06/07/2022 16:04

If only us remainers had the powers that you credit us with we could truly change the earth on it's axis. Sadly you gave a perpetual narcissistic liar an 80-seat majority which he has pissed right up the wall and will probably lord over the destruction of his party as a governing force forever. We must thank you heartily for that.

SlowHorses · 06/07/2022 16:04

@Provenceinthesummer

Maybe you should read one of the MANY news articles on the reduction to science funding.

Omg.

*It's federal army will keep the far right at bay"

Have you gaged what's going on in the EU recently??

AmaryIlis · 06/07/2022 16:08

SueSaid · 06/07/2022 12:16

No no it's was his ex wife's 'line'.

Inconvenient but true, some mumsnetters fave 'BJ was getting a BJ while his wife battled cancer!' is just rubbish. They'd been separated a year.

If you really think he wasn't after other women throughout his first wife's health troubles, you are living a fantasy life.

Summerwhereareyou · 06/07/2022 16:08

@AmaryIlis

It's one of those topics that isn't obvious to people at all.
The movement has been very slealthy and sly.
If it becomes more mainstream and it's explained you can bet your bottom dollar it absolutely will become a burning issue.

I didn’t think I could have made the sarcasm any more obvious but, once again, I underestimated the internet.

Do tell. The Foreign Secretary was taking blow jobs from his mistress in an office that others could walk into at any time, at a time when he had rather a lot of important responsibilities as Foreign Secretary that we were paying him to concentrate on. Do you think that's OK, @JaniieJones?

And do you think it's OK that he was recommending that mistress for a £100K a year job?

the80sweregreat · 06/07/2022 16:14

I thought it was common knowledge that Boris Johnson has had numerous affairs ? At least one child outside of his marriages from one of these affairs ( allegedly)

His old squeeze ( can't remember her name now ,) was on GMTV about a month ago saying how he needs to be loved. She was with him for a while as the OW.
I think he has had a colorful 'love life ' and it's not really a big secret ?

Provenceinthesummer · 06/07/2022 16:14

That is pure slander unless you were the one delivering said blow jobs.

how disgusting

AmaryIlis · 06/07/2022 16:15

SueSaid · 06/07/2022 12:40

'A lot of the House are laughing at him'

It's all so forced and pantomime like all the ott 'ha ha HA!'.

Funny how snp are so fussy about sexual misconduct unless it's in their own party.

You really have drunk the Kool-Aid, haven't you? You know perfectly well that we can all see what's going on, you know perfectly well this is nonsense and that we know it is. Does your adoration for Johnson really come above basic self-respect?

Private Eye published it (and they have excellent lawyers). I don't see the Johnsons taking any legal action about it.
