No not that one. Carrie when they were having an affair and he was foreign secretary. Wanted to appoint her yo £100k job she wasn't qualified for and without declaring an interest. Story was in The Tumes but has disappeared. Super injunction??

I wonder what the deletion message will be....some rubbish about not being in keeping with MN values.

if they followed Machiavelli philosophy, and boris was a saint and followed the bible

Those aren't the only two options though, are they?

No their are a mix of perspectives, but to simplify my point, I used the two perspectives

DarkDarkNight · 19/06/2022 13:12

Teflon man. Murdoch is protecting him for now I guess while Michael Gove waits in the wings?

TooBigForMyBoots · 19/06/2022 13:15

The man is a skank with an enormous sense of entitlement and no morals.

ThatPosterIsSoRight · 19/06/2022 13:15

Posting for the deletion notice, as I’m not sure if ‘watched threads’ that are deleted show up.

Sadly I think it won’t change the minds of his supporters, they’re of the view ‘oh he’s a right one isn’t he, ha ha’, they knew he had no morals when they voted him in, so it doesn’t change things.

Just makes the rest of us more furious.

Hunderland · 19/06/2022 13:17

He is a total and utter shit. The women involved are beneath contempt too.

JemimaPuddlegoose · 19/06/2022 13:18

The naked, non-stop corruption in this country is just soul-deadening.

Not a speck of honesty or integrity in any of them.

Shinyandnew1 · 19/06/2022 13:19

So can anyone get an injunction against unfavourable news about yourself or only the rich and famous?

WaitroseWoman · 19/06/2022 13:09

I had heard that there was something about this immoral pair on the way. This isn't new, so maybe this was it or maybe there is something else on the way.

And let's face it, there will be something else and many times over .

I don't like the man but there's no viable alternative to vote for, so I'll vote for him again next time

Explain to me how anybody else could be worse.
The Pm job should not be a race to the fucking bottom!!!!!

It's all over Twitter so I can't see what point would be served by taking this thread down.

I've never understood why anybody would vote for him. His entire life story shows he is lazy, dishonest and unreliable. His ex-employers have said so, on the record. He did a poor job as London Mayor and Foreign Secretary. His marital history and endless affairs would keep the Relationships board here busy for years. Why would you give a person with a character like his the top job in the country? Why is anybody surprised things have gone the way they have?

This, and yet there are still people out there all too ready to defend him. Its bonkers.

SquirrelSoShiny · 19/06/2022 13:21

He is a truly disgusting and shady individual. Anyone still supporting him is truly hard of thinking. I'm beginning to get the same visceral reaction to him that previously I only got from Trump (and Michael Gove to a lesser degree).

newnamethanks · 19/06/2022 13:22

I posted about this a few days ago, wondered why people weren't more reactive. I expect it got lost in the arguments about why our illustrious PM, that beacon of hope with values to envy, doesn't really need an Ethics Adviser. I mean, what use would he have for one?

Anyone can, it's just the cost that puts it more towards the rich

I suspect you'd probably vote Conservative whether its leader were ethical or not. That's usually what "no viable alternative" means.

He did a poor job as London Mayor

YouGov 2016
As London awaits the results for who will be Boris Johnson's successor, new YouGov research reveals the public verdict on his eight years as London Mayor.
His approval rating has been remarkably consistent during his second term as Mayor, since 2012, and has been drastically higher than most national politicians' throughout. In hindsight, the majority of Londoners (52%) say he has done a good job, while 29% say he hasn't performed well.

Was that before or after the revelations about Jennifer Arcuri? And did they check that the people polled knew that 'Boris bikes' were actually 'Ken Livingstone bikes'? And did they know how much money he'd thrown away on the ludicrous Garden Bridge project or on plans for the new airport on an island in the Thames estuary that never came to anything and never could have done?

I feel extremely sorry for you, and those like you, if your standards and expectations in exchange for your vote are this low.

It’s more of a ‘court jester’ role at this point.

vinoandbrie · 19/06/2022 13:25

Are Boris and Carrie still together? I heard a rumour they are not. Could this be the story under a super injunction, and the press tried publishing this old story instead, to almost have a go at him by raking it up, because they can’t talk about the real story? Am likely barking up completely the wrong tree, but it does seem… odd.

rubberhead · 19/06/2022 13:25

He turns my guts. Also can't warm to Carrie. Think she thought she was on to a good thing when she shacked up with him.

I think "standards and expectations" for many of those planning to vote Conservative again only reach the bar of "benefits me financially".

I'm always amazed the GuppyGate-scandal where Boris Johnson was recorded secretly discussing helping an old Etonian friend to have a journalist beaten up doesn't keep cropping up. It's easy to look up and I can't believe anyone can listen to the recording and still think that Boris Johnson is a person fit to be prime minister.

The main point being that Johnson did not supply his friend with the address. The tape recording was edited by journalists in any case so we don't know exactly how the conversation went or what they left out.

Guppy 2013
As we all know, Mr Johnson never provided me with any address and it is perfectly clear from the tape recording in question that he was simply placating a friend he considered to be letting off steam.

MediocreHRPerson · 19/06/2022 13:36

He is an odious man.. but he wears his revolting behaviour. Then people seem to accept it.

I don't know what Carrie seems in him. She seems pretty well connected and moneyed, to have more options to her than many women. I hope she does leave him.

EveryName · 19/06/2022 13:38

@Hawkins001
Re my GuppyGate post
Just because you agree to go along with x, does not mean he intended to follow through on the promise, and boris could of been leading the friend on

Guppy was a long time friend of Boris's (from Eton and Oxford). He may have had second thoughts about helping someone arrange to beat someone up but the fact he had any conversation about it at all is shocking. Any normal person wouldn't have entertained that line of conversation at all. That tape shows what his character is. It's the same as the party gate stuff and all the other 'scandals'
