No not that one. Carrie when they were having an affair and he was foreign secretary. Wanted to appoint her yo £100k job she wasn't qualified for and without declaring an interest. Story was in The Tumes but has disappeared. Super injunction??

Just returning to the removal of this story from The Times and various other sectors of the media. I was pleased to see that the 'i' newspaper managed not to be browbeaten by whoever got this story pulled as they were still reporting and writing about it in their issue on Tuesday.

Pedallleur · 23/06/2022 13:31

It just never stops tho and yet people seem happy/ambivalent about it. As long as he gives an answer it doesnt matter if it was fact or fiction. it will catch him out one day (sooner the better imo) but its the way he just lies to everyone at some point. It was there at school and all the way through to the present day. Only a matter of time until Carrie finds herself an ex.

DuncinToffee · 23/06/2022 22:50

NEW - Simon Case denies reports he sought a role for Carrie Johnson with the Cambridges’ Earthshot Prize; but admits he had an informal chat on her behalf, “as I would have done for anyone with relevant experience who was keen to get involved in charity work”.

What really makes me seriously worried about this government is the Bill of Rights. It feels like the tipping point when we head over the edge and fall headlong into a pit where we have very few values or rights, and basic British tolerance and fairness disappear. And essentially all of that is happening to keep this utterly incompetent, corrupt, lying, loathsome piece of scum desperately hanging onto power for a few more weeks. I really, really hope that it comes home to his followers that he is no longer a winner and really there is nothing whatsoever that is conceivably worth supporting.

As well as the worrying bill of rights,

maternity leave & pay listed by ReesMogg in his dashboard of EU laws up for grabs.

😡

utter scumbag.

WaitroseWoman · 24/06/2022 16:08

It's all ok though apparently, because the Tories reassure us that they know what a woman is.

All the easier for them to take away our rights and protections.

JustTheOneSwan · 30/06/2022 10:22

Ah now I get it!
It wasn't anything to do with the job or salary that caused them to bury the story.
They didn't want us to know that they caught Carrie giving Boris a blow job while he was married and the FS.

Well that's ok then.

WaitroseWoman · 30/06/2022 10:29

And even though they knew this was how he behaved at work, the Conservatives still chose Boris Johnson - BloJo - as their leader and 211 recently still voted to show their confidence in him as PM.

newnamethanks · 30/06/2022 10:36

James Goldsmith (father of Zak who's a close friend of the vibrant Mrs Johnson), said on the day of his marriage to his longtime mistress Annabel 'of course, when a man marries his mistress it creates a vacancy'. Any applicants out there? You know what you have to do, women, might even get £100k a year job slung in as a sweetener. Who knows?

JustTheOneSwan · 30/06/2022 10:43

Now now.
You know he was likely working very very hard, maybe negotiating with Iran or something equally stressful and important and poor Carrie was aiding him concentrate.

suddenly I appreciate my female boss much more.

newnamethanks · 30/06/2022 10:52

Yes. He was probably distressed that his incompetence as Foreign Secretary had just added a few more years to Nazanin Ratcliffe's detention and was in need of consolation. And, speaking of incompetent Foreign Secretaries, has anyone had the pleasure of seeing the current incarnation on TV today? 😖

WaitroseWoman · 30/06/2022 10:53

Sadly I suspect BloJo's mind was not on the right kind of job.

JustTheOneSwan · 30/06/2022 10:59

It's another triumph.
Clearly demonstrating he knows what a woman is and the values and respect he holds for women and the office he holds.
Such leadership.

God help us.

This week's Private Eye cover. 'Top seedy' seems particularly apt:

To point out that the PM tried to give his mistress £100k public sector job
Pedallleur · 30/06/2022 12:10

According to some on here he is the hardest working man in the UK. No time for a haircut. Has to get what he can get when he can get it. Blow job in the office or a quickie in the HoP? that will do nicely

nickthefox · 30/06/2022 12:43

it's literally the plot of 1984. News is deleted when 'appropriate'. Scary that we can't do anything about it. E
why hasn't he been sacked?

Pedallleur · 30/06/2022 13:13

who is going to do it? He is in charge. His own party have given him a pass. there is a war on.

Made worse by it being orchestrated by some of the same people shouting the loudest against the BBC and C4.

Its very reminiscent of the trumponian tactic of whatever he was railing against was exactly what he was doing.

TurquoiseDress · 30/06/2022 13:57

YANBU!

Shady as fuck

I love that Private Eye cover!

I very much doubt he was in the slightest bit distressed about adding to Nazanin Ratcliffe's detention.

Pedallleur · 30/06/2022 20:40

She was caught out on the human rights. But since she doesn't care about that she can skate over it

WaitroseWoman · 30/06/2022 21:28

She cares alright, for a photo opportunity.

Decisionfatiguequeen · 30/06/2022 21:52

He could knock one out on live TV during PMQs whilst eating a live puppy and people would still defend him - baffles me.

InMySpareTime · 30/06/2022 22:04

We have a family "word game" of "Boris could..." where we each try to outdo the others with things Boris could do and still keep his job. Yesterday we got as far as:

"Boris could lead a tethered, semi-naked man into the main chamber, make him bend over, and use him as a rest for his notes while addressing the House"

The game is getting less and less fun as our ludicrous suggestions from a few months back keep turning out to have actually happened.
