Nothing like this surprises me any more. He's a lying shit.

But sadly Labour and Libs are a bunch of tosspots

Is that not preferable to actively corrupt?

That basically covers it for me too

Any normal person wouldn't have entertained that line of conversation at all. That tape shows what his character is

I found this tape recording of John McDonnell more worrying -

www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-politics-42682854

Why did Keir Starmer demand that Rishi Sunak resign for drinking an orange juice in the cabinet room and yet he supported John McDonnell becoming Chancellor?

Sunak received a FPN for attending the social gathering that was breaking the covid laws at the time, his choice of beverage was irrelevant

Do you often have conversations about beating up someone for the banter?

He's the most unethical man imaginable, based purely on his private life.

How anyone voted for him, I can't imagine. Any questions yesterday was farcical about it. Someone claimed he was ethical because he delivered Brexit as he promised. Madness.

The whole point of brexit was to take back control, yet the tory government are too tight to pay for customs officers to control our borders. He failed to deliver on brexit, let alone anything else.

It's nice for you that you enjoyed projects like the garden bridge while in one of the richest countries in the world there are children going to school and bed hungry.
It was a ridiculous use of public funds that could only have been dreamt up by privileged and entitled people

Sadiq Khan appears to have spent £13m on plans for his own failed bridge project - even after scrapping Boris Johnson's bridge;

I don’t like the clip of John McDonnell talking about lynching either. The difference is I wouldn’t try to defend it even though I am generally a Labour voter 🤷🏻‍♀️ Unlike SOME PEOPLE I don’t feel the need to develop elaborate excuses for bad behaviour because… erm… because… I’m in love with them?? Idk. It’s the only way I can explain defending Johnson to such an extent at this point.

There is literally nothing defensible about handing your lover a job. It's a breach of the Ministerial code and normal recruitment practice.

The problem is that those who vote for Johnson simply don't care.

It's not as if anyone expected Johnson to follow the Ministerial code or any standard practice. Those happy to vote for him know that Johnson is lying once they see his lips moving.

Glad people are holding him to account for it then.

That Man could not lie straight in bed. And God knows whose bed he'll be in. He certainly doesn't.

AmbushedByCake1 · 19/06/2022 14:28

He's an appalling excuse for a PM. Worst prime minister we've ever had to suffer from.

@ clavinova If almost one in three of your clients said you hadn't performed well, would you not consider yourself to be doing a 'poor job'?

I think most politicians/public figures would be happy with that.

I'd wager most politicians would be happy to take a pay-rise despite the current financial climate.

It wouldn't make that any less a cunty thing to do.

TheRussianDoll · 19/06/2022 14:30

What do we expect? He’s a liar. A cheat. A fraudster. He doesn’t use his own money he has diners even buying his takeaways so, when that bill runs into thousands (and the flat refurbishment, let’s not forget that one) the donors call in their “favour”.

im sick of hearing that people can’t vote for Starmer because he has no personality… “Johnson’s a character, a maverick” . Johnson’s plunged the UK into poverty, people dying in ambulances (that’s if you can get one!) telling us we have to get ready for a protracted war in Ukraine. And it’s ALL our money!

I’m bloody furious. He’s a gobshite and MUST go!

HRTQueen · 19/06/2022 14:30

The diversion now why was the story pulled rather than the story

sounds very much like a Dominic Cummings (or Alister Campbell) move

TheRussianDoll · 19/06/2022 14:31

Donors. Donors paying for everything the tax payer doesn’t.

TheRussianDoll · 19/06/2022 14:33

It doesn’t matter who blew the whistle and when, whose story it is. We’re being shown on a daily basis, the corruption and law breaking in No10 and there’s no one to hold him/them to account.

liliainterfrutices · 19/06/2022 14:34

YANBU.
he is utterly odious and, by now, those who vote for him are of the same absolutely shameful calibre.

Why do Boris supporters always come back with "well labour do xyz" when it doesn't change what a specific Tory has done? It's a strange style of debate.

You can disagree with two people's actions simultaneously, so it's odd to attempt a 'gotcha' by always trying to bring in an equivalent from another party - one that they assume the person who disagrees with them supports.

You don't know which party I support. Which politicians I do and don't rate.

Those things don't change whether or not Boris has behaved reprehensibly.

It's so strange to me to support someone who has literally broken their own rules multiple times, and broken the law, during their term as prime minister. It's defending the indefensible IMO.

That is ALL they do. No answer to anything raised just whataboutery endlessly.
Obviously there is no answer and that's the only recourse

Clavinova · 19/06/2022 14:40

The whole point of brexit was to take back control, yet the tory government are too tight to pay for customs officers to control our borders.

I did read in CityAM that border guards refused entry to 12,515 EU nationals in the first 9 months of last year (including over 7,000 Romanian nationals for some reason);

It's so tiresome and dim, isn't it @wellhelloitsme?

Do you remember History Today with Newman and Baddiel? 'See that stain the floor? That's your mum's lipstick, that is.' It's that rather dull, petty and unintelligent boy style of debate.

Notonthestairs · 19/06/2022 14:43

The garden bridge that never was cost £43 million of public money.

Regardless we should focus on the fun he's had in Government - illegal prorogation of Parliament, misleading Parliament, FPN for breaking own emergency health legislation, free holidays in Mystique, £50k from a Tory donor spent on flat refit (the standard £15k usually provided by tax payer was not sufficient for the Johnsons), Russian funds running through CCHQ whilst delaying publication of the Russia Report, a Lord of Moscow and Siberia in the House of Lords against security advice, £120 million to Rwandan government, ignoring recommendations of ethics advisors (Patel bullying report for starters), mismanagement of the evacuation from Afghanistan, dragging their heels to get services in place for Ukrainian refugees, Government contracts handed to friends & families, contracts negotiated via personal email accounts rather than official channels to avoid scrutiny, attempts to rewrite the rules to benefit Owen Paterson and on and on.

I suppose attempting to get your lover a £100000 chief of staff job seems pretty par for the course.

£37m + on the Garden Bridge fiasco, you say?

Remember his wizard wheeze a few years ago to connect N. Ireland and Scotland with a bridge or a tunnel? And the feasibility study that found it would cost in the region of 335 BILLION for his back-of-the-fag-packet bridge idea? What larks, eh?

As others have so eloquently put it, he’s a revolting, lying chancer who drags everything and everyone down to his level, and we’re all paying the price. And everyone knew what he was, right from the get-go. It’s written into his DNA.

ApplesandBunions · 19/06/2022 14:50

It's called whataboutery. Basically means they don't have anything to say in defence of the person they'd like to be able to stick up for so they want to try and focus elsewhere instead.
