Special Father's Day sex

I think I've just offended DH. He asked if he was going to be getting "Father's Day sex" after DS has gone to bed. I thought he was joking, when I realised he wasn't I must have pulled a face.

I understand people talk about birthday sex, valentine's day sex etc but father's day is a day for children to celebrate and appreciate their dads. It's given me the ick but he has no idea what I'm talking about, so I was just interested to see what others think?

To be clear, I'm not adverse to having sex on father's day, just the thought of doing it specially to celebrate it!

Just day no and get on with your day. Why all the angst and thinking the internet needs to know your husband dared to ask for sex?

I know for sure that you didn't mean it like this... BUT.... you know what you said implies you would do that for your dad but not him Hahahah.

I think it’s weird when people need an occasion to ask for sex (which is why I don’t like Valentine’s Day) and it would probably give me the ick too but I can’t explain why it does.
I guess I see it as begging/guilt tripping which is a big turn off.

It’s weird and icky because Father’s Day is celebrated by children and their father. So suggesting celebrating with sex suggests an unpleasant association. To me anyway.

If that were true, there wouldn't be any cards saying Happy Father's Day/Mother's Day to my Husband/Wife.

And MNetters wouldn't expect Mother's Day gifts/flowers from their husbands even after their kids are old enough to sort it themselves.

I had a line all ready for him asking, and when he came out with "don't I get a Father's Day bj?" I replied "err no, you're not my dad"

This! It sums up perfectly why I shuddered when I read the OP. And I am honestly the furthest from "uptight" or "prudish" there is! DH asking me if sex is on the cards tonight? Absolutely fine. Probably even a turn on tbh, depending on my mood. DH asking if he can have "Father's Day sex" - no, sorry. It's the use of the day itself, which is a celebration of his role as a father to our child, to ask for sex that gives me the ick.
