Kid here wearing a pair of shorts. AIBU to think it's just a bit odd?

Biscuit
Giraffesandbottoms · 08/06/2022 14:46

I blame Pando

Bluueberrryy · 08/06/2022 14:46

Why the biscuit?

OP posts:
FlibbertyGiblets · 08/06/2022 14:46

sigh.

lanthanum · 08/06/2022 14:47

Probably spilt something sticky all over their top and there wasn't a spare in their changing bag.

Cotswoldmama · 08/06/2022 14:48

It wouldn't bother me. I wouldn't let my kids go around topless in case they got a friction burn but I wouldn't have a problem with it.

BattenburgDonkey · 08/06/2022 14:49

How could it be odd? It’s a childrens play centre. I wouldn’t let me kids because of the obvious friction burn risk, but that’s up to individual parents.

TokenGinger · 08/06/2022 14:51

The kid has probably spilt something down themselves, and also down their spare clothes if they're anything like my son 😂

Bluueberrryy · 08/06/2022 14:52

Because in four years of going to soft plays I've never seen it. Clearly not necessary

And? It’s still not ‘odd’

TooManyPJs · 08/06/2022 14:55

Is everything you've never seen before "clearly not necessary" or unacceptable. Seems a very limited way on which to judge the acceptability of things.

It is odd, in that it's not normal

OP posts:
vodkaredbullgirl · 08/06/2022 14:56

Hmm probably hot with running around.

TooManyPJs · 08/06/2022 14:59

And why is something "odd" or "not normal" automatically problematic in your mind?

TaranThePigKeeper · 08/06/2022 15:00

Probably the child has spilled something on their top; or is too hot; or is having a bad day and doesn't want to wear clothes. The child’s lack of a top isn’t harming the child, or you, or your child.

MassiveSalad22 · 08/06/2022 15:02

I agree OP. There was a thread the other day about kids naked in a public fountain and everyone saying that was totally fine. But a few people saying it was odd and unnecessary too. But I am sure I will be ripped the shreds and told there’s something wrong with me for saying that here!

Soubriquet · 08/06/2022 15:02

they are probably hot and bothered

Its a kid with no top on, not an adult porn star.

I wouldn’t do it with my two because it would affect their sliding ability

Where did I say it was a problem?

Quite a large difference between a child being naked in a public fountain, and a child not wearing a top in soft play. I agree about the fountain, that’s grim and anyone could be watching a naked child. This situation just isn’t the same though.

Bluueberrryy · 08/06/2022 15:05

The child is at least 7 if that makes a difference

In your title, were you said they shouldn’t be topless.

bm2021 · 08/06/2022 15:05

You imply in your title that it’s a problem 🤣

daisyjgrey · 08/06/2022 15:09

Ok so what exactly are you getting at?

Do you want people to say "yes, that's odd" and validate your thoughts or are you trying to imply something else but hoping other people will take your strange hints and run with it?
