Starting a new thread as last one wasn't accepting new posts.. Years ago I was a young dancer and background singer .. Very shy starting out on the job I loved (age 16 ) Jim Davison was on the Sunderland Empire about 2002 ish.. He was awful.. Moody! Shouty! Miserable, Rude.😭 I danced and sang in a lot of shows afterwards, and the much bigger stars were absolutely lovely.. But he is the one I remember most.. Awful man!.. I have worked with the Nolan Sisters and they all were so lovely.. I really understand how Linda (she was so kind and lovely to me, as were all of the sisters) did not like Jim Davison when she was in Big Brother (that was not the man he acted like on that show) Out of all the 50+ lovely celebrities I worked with over 15 years(some quite famous stars) , this is the one I remember most as the most horrible one.

OP posts:

My best friend toured with the band Puddle of Mudd and they were all lovely, but Wes was always completely out of it on drugs.

She also used to have an affair with the married Victor Wooten who she said couldn't be nicer 😄He taught her to play bass guitar.

She also met Sting many times and said he was very nice also. But I met him once and thought he was a but arrogant.

Worked in Camden town hall parking permit office in the late 90s so met various famous folk and their nannies/ assistants. The worst was Sharleen Spiteri (Texas), she used the phrase "don't you know who I am", when I refused to issue a parking permit as she didn't have the necessary documents. I also found Bill Oddie rude and grabby, but his daughter was lovely (Kate, an actor). Parking doesn't bring the best out in people so celebs are no different in that respect 😂

Mark Lamarr was a dick to me when I requested a record while he dj'd at my uni in the early 90s. but so was my now husband as he was a DJ at the local indie nightclub at the time and refused to play little fluffy clouds (cos no fucker will dance to it). So Mark Lamarr might be ok generally (he certainly hid it well).

Stewart Lee has stood on my foot twice and roughly 20 years apart - once in a pub in Camden in 97 and and again about 3 years ago at a gig in Kings Cross - he apologised the first time, but it hurt more the second!

@SpidersAreShitheads - DH worked with Lulu; nobody was allowed to make eye contact with her!!
She was quite fragile- he had to walk her onto the stage.

I have never understood the whole "dont make eye contact with me" thing. Its a natural human greeting - you cant tell people where to look FFS. If they are that bothered then maybe THEY should avoid eye contact with others or put a bloody paper bag over their head. Idiots.

I used to be an actress and while resting would stand in for the participants of Blind Date at the filmed rehearsals. One day Cilla arrived as I was waiting to go on, she glared at me and said ‘you’re a bit small aren’t you?’ It was not said in a funny way - just nasty. I was only 20 and was so shocked she was not the smiley lady I had grown up with seeing on tv. I was too shocked to reply and just stood there like a stunned mullet.

Ginajo · 08/06/2022 08:41

I've met lots of celebrities through work. The worst by a long, long way is Nick Knowles. A complete and utter knob.

XelaM · 08/06/2022 08:42

I have met the King of Spain, but didn't recognise him 🙈It's honestly one of the most embarrassing moments of my life, as he was standing next to the President of Portugal and I confused the two. He was very polite, but his wife gave me a death stare 🥶

This was at a work conference in Madrid

Sad about Bob Geldof.. It seem the nicer they come across on tv the worse they are in real life 🤔🤔...

He seems to feature a lot on these types of threads.

theworldhas · 08/06/2022 08:47

Long shot but has anyone met Tony

I’m sure he’s perfectly nice - but just don’t mention The War/Standing Trial for War Crimes at The Hague. Such a shame he spoilt his legacy in such a tragic and bloody fashion. Because domestically his government was excellent - the amount of real achievements New Labour made in a decade is staggering, especially when compared to the current showers decade of slow decline on literally all fronts.

Icepinkeskimo · 08/06/2022 03:58

Nicole Kidman, she was something else, rude egotistical and to top it off grabby, if something was free she wanted it. Self entitlement was taken to a whole new level in the 6/7 weeks I had the complete displeasure of working with her.

How disappointing.

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 08/06/2022 08:58

The nicest famous person I have ever met was Sir Ian MacKellan. He sat at my table at Paddington station with a coffee, chatting away. It took me several seconds to realise who it was!

Zoooooom · 08/06/2022 08:58

About 20 years ago when I was 10, my friend and I saw the actress who plays Eileen from Corrie at the airport. She wasn't rude as such, we probably just looked at her in awe for too long as she sort of looked at us and did a hand gesture to say 'Wtf are you looking at?"

My DGM knows Lulu from socialising in the same Glasgow dance halls back in the day, apparently she's always been a wee horror. Very up herself and has definitely forgotten her roots.

Beamish22 · 08/06/2022 09:00

I met David Beckham recently. I'd been told he comes over as arrogant but he seemed very friendly to me.

Omg . He sounds hideous. Where do these people get off seriously

UrbanCoyote · 08/06/2022 09:01

@Tutchytutchyfeelyfeely great stories - is there a link to the first thread?

I know someone who worked with Prince Andrew in the military. Apparently he was a nightmare, would only engage with seniors. He said to the Captain, 'You may call me Andrew' to which the Captain replied 'You may call me Sir'

SweetcornFritter · 08/06/2022 09:04

Bob Geldof - rude. Johnny Rotten - scary. Cliff Richard - full of self importance and completely disinterested in anyone but himself. One of the Bros twins (dunno which one it was) - menacing, made threats of violence.

Bednobsbroomsticks · 08/06/2022 09:05

I've met Russell brand. He was delightful. Told me I looked amazing . Met gene hunt can't remember actos name. Grumpy and pissed

Floogal · 08/06/2022 09:06

Met Sue Tully when I was 9. Quite pleasant. Met few reality TV people most we're ok. One big brother contestant was particularly vile to me.
My dad told me Ian Dury told him to fuck off.
Have heard from a few people Jarvis Cocker is really lovely

Can't help with Tony but if it helps, Cherie came to visit our school. I worked in a class of children with profound learning difficulties.
(Most VIPs smile nervously from the door and tell us we're doing a wonderful job 😆)
Cherie was absolutely lovely, got down on the floor and greeted each child individually. Asked us their names and talked to them. She was wearing beautiful clothes which were a bit damp and sticky by the time she was finished but she was unfazed.
I've always had a bit of a soft spot after that.

My father was engaged as an expert witness in a legal case Cherie Blair was dealing with. He said she was lovely.

UrbanCoyote · 08/06/2022 09:10

Many years ago a friend met George Michael whilst out walking dogs. He didn't recognise him (but the person he was with did). They chatted for a while about the dogs and he was absolutely lovely. It was only after they had parted my friend found out it was George Michael.

The only time I have ever voted Labour was for Tony Blair. I remember being very excited about the future. I have never voted Labour since. Shame he spoilt it all. My sons best friend was killed in Helmand.
