Starting a new thread as last one wasn't accepting new posts.. Years ago I was a young dancer and background singer .. Very shy starting out on the job I loved (age 16 ) Jim Davison was on the Sunderland Empire about 2002 ish.. He was awful.. Moody! Shouty! Miserable, Rude.😭 I danced and sang in a lot of shows afterwards, and the much bigger stars were absolutely lovely.. But he is the one I remember most.. Awful man!.. I have worked with the Nolan Sisters and they all were so lovely.. I really understand how Linda (she was so kind and lovely to me, as were all of the sisters) did not like Jim Davison when she was in Big Brother (that was not the man he acted like on that show) Out of all the 50+ lovely celebrities I worked with over 15 years(some quite famous stars) , this is the one I remember most as the most horrible one.

My husband met her a couple of times and he said she was absolutely lovely.

Probably the difference between meeting and actually working with for some length of time.

Lovetok · 11/06/2022 07:04

@HazelBite agreed. I know members of Keir’s family and have met him many times. They are all wonderful. Intelligent, grounded, GOOD people through and through.

I love these threads!
Katherine Jenkins - horrible woman, treated her runners like shit, the place we were at only did Pepsi max in the vending machine and not Diet Coke, because the Pepsi Max had 1 calorie in it she made her runner go and find one (we were in the middle of nowhere) looked down on everyone including the film crew.

She gives Frank Skinner the creeps. He doesn't buy the butter wouldn't melt façade and he's met her on plenty of occasions.

He calls her Lucifer's Representative on Earth.

15 and it was late 80s

back then 15 yos in relationships with adults was common/more socially acceptable and 15yos were generally seen more as adults. Having said that him being 60 makes it disgusting.

It absolutely wasn't any more acceptable in the 80s than it is now.

I was one such 15 year old in the nineties. It did not go down well. Having said that, no one did much about it either.

SurfBox · 11/06/2022 08:55

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris martins kids ate crisps and fruit shoots regularly when toddlers as my friend and I witnessed this at soft play. Her frequent pontificating about healthy eating made us snigger

yea but didn't she only introduce the kids to it after he left? So in essence he might have being more relaxed about it but when she had full custody she changed it?

Outlookmainlyfair · 11/06/2022 08:58

Lost the post about the vile designer with a range at Debenhams.I bet it was Jasper Conran
i worked at big events and he grabbed a volunteer and sneered that she was not allowed to go back to the table until she had wine for him. She was shaking!

i was amused by Uri Geller. his bouncer came into the event (I was at a press desk) and told me formally that Mr Geller had arrived, so I just had to spell out that he had better come in then. He was not the most famous person in that night, but as I had no TV I had no idea who any of them were!

I remember her being on the Richard Osman House of Games, she refused to participate and constantly whined that she would kill her agent for getting her on there. As it was recorded 5 times for the week Osman looked like he could slap her miserable face by the end.

I remember that really didnt like being outed as thick did she

i like patrick stewart but always recall the nasty way he was to james corden at an awards show for no apprent reason-calling him fat and useless when all hed done was intoruduce him for an award

very odd

I love Richard Osman's House of Games and remember Patsy Kensit being on it. It seemed so obvious she hadn't seen the show before and was told to go on it. She didn'thave a clue and was completely useless!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 11/06/2022 14:52

Has anybody met Richard Osman irl? (sorry, can't recall if he's already been mentioned, as the thread has been going for quite some time!)

He seems like an introvert, so may want to be left alone; but I can't possibly imagine him being outright rude or nasty to others or ever DYKWIA-ing - he always comes across as such a kind, friendly man. He even seems genuinely apologetic whenever it's mentioned that his books have done so extremely well!

AmaryIlis · 11/06/2022 16:01

I do remember noticing when Patsy Kensit was on House of Games that she reached a point when she was simply sitting back and making no effort to hit the buzzer. I don't know whether it was because she couldn't be bothered or had just given up.

Pollydonia · 11/06/2022 16:21

Anyone met Priti Patel ?
Mt Dmum wanted me to add that Cilla Black's mum, Mrs White was also a horror , apparently she used to demand to be served first in the local shops because of who her daughter was.
Russ Abbott - she met him at a party , shy man but lovely according to her.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 11/06/2022 16:22

It can't be much fun for the other three celebs playing when you get somebody behaving like that, as the whole show is designed around a mixture of camaraderie and friendly rivalry among the four people. It doesn't really work when you get one person unwilling to take part.

As an aside, I like it when they have somebody who storms it each day and then starts allowing the others to choose a prize instead, to avoid scooping the lot; but I do wonder if said people sometimes wish they could change history: when they chose their favourite of a lacklustre selection on an earlier day but then there's something they'd really love that comes up on a later day's table, when they've already established the clear understanding for what they're going to do!

Emotionalsupportviper · 11/06/2022 16:25

LaMigraine · 10/06/2022 17:04

Mm, sorry Emotionalsupportviper but he came into the bookshop I worked in once and was extremely grumpy. Everybody hates it when I tell this story as no one wants it to be true! (I'm sure he's lovely most of the time - everyone has off days etc)

<gutted!>

antwacky · 11/06/2022 16:33

@Pollydonia yeah Cilla's mum, really was full of herself and thought that she was star 🙄 saw her loads on her market stall. Likewise some of her nieces and nephews were quite obnoxious and made themselves unpopular.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 11/06/2022 16:40

Cilla Black's mum, Mrs White was also a horror , apparently she used to demand to be served first in the local shops because of who her daughter was.

Some people are CFs beyond belief. Was she buying a huge amount? I can kind of understand when somebody is at the height of their fame, always mobbed, and asks if a major store could be opened for an exclusive session just for them, on the understanding that they will be spending a very large amount of money; but Cilla's mum expecting to be allowed to pay for her pint of milk and newspaper in front of a handful of others is seriously laughable and very pathetic.

If anything, she should have automatically made her way to the very back of every queue whilst murmuring "I'm so, so sorry; I really cannot apologise enough" Grin

A Black & Decker hammer drill is more pleasant to listen to than Cilla's singing!

Dobbyismyabsolutefav · 11/06/2022 17:06

Justin Rose so lovely, very happy to chat and sign autographs for the youngsters after a round of golf. In fact most of the top golfers are great.

Niall Horam and AJ Pritchard friendly and happy to chat to my teenager.

Peter Schmeichel a complete arse.

I also have a soft spot for Rob Lewis, BBC, who I greeted like an old friend because I knew that I knew him but couldn't place him. When I did realise who he was we had a chuckle and a very nice chat.

LisaSimpson77 · 11/06/2022 17:10

A friend of mine is strictly obsessed and has managed to engineer many meetings with the celeb dancers.
Nicest by far (as far as she's concerned) are Anton and Johannes who apparently were very friendly, had all the time in the world to chat and posed happily for photos.
Worst was Katya but I don't think she actually did anything awful, just was a bit cool.

OvOvO · 11/06/2022 19:53

I know it's not in the spirit but I have only good things to say about the celebrities I've met and interacted with ;
Paul Shane - lovely and un starry
Sean Bean - Ditto
Alesha Dixon - incredibly lovely and normal
Katherine Kelly - off the scale lovely and incredibly kind ❤️
Chesney Hawkes - asked me to dance not once but twice and only on the third time of asking (with nod from DH) did I dance with him - he's a great dancer ☺️
There are others but that's what I can recall for now.

OvOvO · 11/06/2022 19:59

Just remember'd a few arses
Miranda Richardson
Martin Lewis
Shared a make up room with both and they gave off that 'I'm much more famous than you' vibe

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 11/06/2022 20:49

Richard Madden - of all the Scottish actors to make it big it had to be that horrible guy.

whynotwhatknot · 11/06/2022 22:32

tell us more abo9ut richard madden

everyone loves him i dont see it myself

Westpoint · 11/06/2022 22:46

I bumped into Jim Davidson in a hotel lift years ago. He appeared to have nothing on but a hotel robe and was completely off his face.

It was about 8am 😮

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 11/06/2022 23:23

I don't think JD is likely to be on the shortlist for the next Archbishop of Canterbury or Dalai Lama anytime soon - even if he does already have a robe! Grin

Lockeddownagain · 11/06/2022 23:52

I also worked tons of panto and bonnie Langford was ok.the crankies were amazing. Met Anita Harris to she toured with My husband and adored him💕 lonely blair was talking to me when he was drunk hilarious. Worked with John Barrowman and sadly saw his🍆
Adrian Dunbar Hastings in line of duty is a right dickhead. Screamed at me during the interval so I didn't speak to me foe a few days he was the director of the show aswell so stage management not speaking to you is a bit tricky 🤣🤣 never give people the slight treatment but that wasn't happening again
