Starting a new thread as last one wasn't accepting new posts.. Years ago I was a young dancer and background singer .. Very shy starting out on the job I loved (age 16 ) Jim Davison was on the Sunderland Empire about 2002 ish.. He was awful.. Moody! Shouty! Miserable, Rude.😭 I danced and sang in a lot of shows afterwards, and the much bigger stars were absolutely lovely.. But he is the one I remember most.. Awful man!.. I have worked with the Nolan Sisters and they all were so lovely.. I really understand how Linda (she was so kind and lovely to me, as were all of the sisters) did not like Jim Davison when she was in Big Brother (that was not the man he acted like on that show) Out of all the 50+ lovely celebrities I worked with over 15 years(some quite famous stars) , this is the one I remember most as the most horrible one.

Ds (through work) says that Kier Starmer is one of the most decent and principled people he has ever come across.

A friend of mine says the same, she worked alongside many politicians. She said Kier Starmer is one of the good guys and very well liked. On the other hand, she said Boris Johnson was a pathological liar, and this was way before he became PM. Obviously a leopard never changes it’s spots!

LadyGnome · 08/06/2022 18:24

I have met several people who have worked with Tom Hardy and none of the reports are good.

Geogaddi · 08/06/2022 18:26

I worked with Brian May once and he was an absolute sweetheart. Talked to everyone at the show and didn't flinch when i accidently made him a super strong Vodka Tonic. He became good friends with a mate of mine and even invited him round his house to do an interview. Wish he'd have invited me though!

Pagwatch · 08/06/2022 18:26

@everythingcrossed
he wasn't drunk for the first few hours of cunt shouting next to me and my children.
the prat fall in arrivals was many many drinks induced for sure though.
we were just all pleased when he fell asleep. it was a long flight

HappyDays40 · 08/06/2022 18:29

I have a theme..northern comedians. I went to college with Jason Manford he was a right self centred egotistical idiot. Called me some horrible things, I don't find him funny.
Peter Kay thought he was too good for the Dutch Pancake House in Manchester and proceeded to throw his lemon rinds all over the floor and laughed as he did it at my friend who had to clean after him. I was there I saw it with my own eyes.

marblemad · 08/06/2022 18:29

Living in London more recently and doing low level showbiz as a child, I met my fair share of 'celebs' the worst 2 (who are barely even celebs) are holly steel from BGT and Behzinga - Ethan Payne from the sidemen. I met Holly at a televised charity concert she shouted, stamped her foot, demanded no-one else spoke to her, her mum screamed at everyone else and to be honest due to those behaviours I can see why she didn't make it big.
Ethan Payne I met whilst out with a friend in central London, we were queuing for an immersive show and he was outside the pub next to us, a few of us said hello to him, no-one asked for photos or anything like that as no-one wanted to leave the queue and quite frankly we're adults. He told us to 'fuck off' repeatedly, swilling his glass at everyone and spitting towards the queue. I lost all respect for the sidemen that day as I thought if they are friends with him then they are most likely the same. I also heard terrible stories about the sidemen boys about how nasty they were towards the general public and egotistical.

Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale). Incredibly rude and standoffish.

Nicest celeb? I've not met many but Gordon Ramsay! Was actually quite soft spoken and very warm and friendly. His wife was lovely too.

Gordon Ramsay I'm not surprised about. Even on his more shouty programmes, a kind person frequently seems to surface.

I have met no one, if you don't count Bernard Hill on the steps of the local Tesco one freezing, windy, sleeting Christmas Eve when we both rolled our eyes to heaven simultaneously at the horror of the weather. My husband met him properly (interviewed him) and says he's a very nice bloke Grin

Pagwatch · 08/06/2022 18:32

these threads are fascinating but then i remember the times ive been a dick in the last 30 years and im pleased im not famous. 😁

can you imagine reading how someone is convinced you're and absolute shit because you were really in a bad mood in a cafe in Gravesend in 2007

Margaritatatata · 08/06/2022 18:33

Sticking with Neil Morrisey, my best friend met him in her local pub (was filming I think) and apparently was really nice. Very chatty and was interested in getting to know everyone.

Have to say though, that the account from @Pagwatch really made me laugh! Fell into baggage reclaim?! 😂🤣

I used to have such a crush on him, circa Men Behaving Badly 😳

EWAB · 08/06/2022 18:34

@Hobbesmanc Patsy Rowlands was a neighbour. A lovely woman.

fionaapple · 08/06/2022 18:35

Coincidentally I was using the toilet in Manchester Arndale at the same time as Helen Flanagan (Rosie Webster) the other week. She was in a cubicle with one of her daughters and was kind and patient with her. Clocked it was her when we were both washing our hands and it clicked as I knew the voice was familiar and I remembered her daughter's name. I didn't say anything though - I couldn't tell if she wanted to be recognised or not as she looked at me a couple of times😂probably not as she was makeup-less and sounded like she was ready to go home.

NigelWithTheBrie79 · 08/06/2022 18:38

Mine involves Jeremy Kyle and Jerry Springer.
JK wasn't that horrible but very business like. The studio lights kept failing so he disappeared and didn't come back until fixed which at the time seemed fair.
But then we went to a recording of the UK version of the Jerry Springer show which was filmed in the same studio and the same issue kept happening. The whole time JS went around to every audience member to hug/shake hands. He had a filthy sense of humour and had everyone in stitches. He also started a singalong. I was heavily pregnant and he overruled the horrible woman who wouldn't let me use the toilet. He also got them to hand out bottled water as we were there hours (during the JK taping drinks and toilet visits were a big no-no)

fetchacloth · 08/06/2022 18:39

Fascinating thread.
Brian May's a nice guy and Jasper Carrott is OK too.
I've not met any really rude celebs but I'm sure they have off days like we do.😀

CornishPorsche · 08/06/2022 18:41

Harry Redknapp - presented the awards at our university sports dinner. Totally drunk, incredibly patronising and poor company. Good sport for photos and autographs though.

Danny Grewcock - bloody brilliant, did another sports awards dinner and ended up getting plastered with us all. Really nice chap.

Princess Ann - consummate professional, always lovely to everyone. Even my dad, not a Royalist, thinks she's brilliant. He's met her at a few very low key country events and she's always genuinely interested.

Lesley Joseph. Moody. Unpleasant. I was working in a hotel she was staying in and she was waiting for the lift in a mahooosive fur coat and dark glasses. Saying how much she hated being in the place, the city, and couldn’t wait to leave. A gentleman came by and gave her a single rose, she didn’t acknowledge him, and dropped the rose on the floor as she got in the lift saying ‘what the hell am I supposed to do with that?!’.
Ben Fogle….the loveliest human being you could EVER wish to meet. Genuine.

Cilla….complete nightmare, very rude to all staff
Sarah Ferguson….chatty, funny, deffo bonkers
Jeremy Kyle….not even going to pass comment on him…..(knob)
Prince Charles……pleasant….humble….caring…..loves being in nature, and likes a slice of a very good fruit cake

Rod Stewart….funny…..pissed……a lot 😂
Alex Salmond..:not funny…..pissed….leery….not to be trusted when alone…..
Gregor Fisher aka Rab C. Nesbitt…..a great man, humble, funny, decent.
Billy Connolly……decent, human, funny
Alex Ferguson…..quite decent
Sam Fox….decent chatty and funny

random fact - I met Ben Fogle when he was about 11, his dad (Bruce) was our vet - my ex used to accuse me of inventing ailments so I had to take the cats in (he had the most gorgeous blue eyes - the dad, not Ben 🤣)

twinmum2007 · 08/06/2022 18:54

This might be outing if there's anyone here that knows me
Loveliest: Ben Shepherd, so so lovely and friendly. Ditto Gethin Jones, Steve Backley, Joanna Lumley and Nick Knowles. Oh and Bariness Grey Thompson and Dame Kelly Holmes are completely lovely too.

Jasper's daughter Lucy is my Instagram friend. We worked together years ago and she remembered me. She is one of the sweetest and kindest people. My 16 year old dd didn't believe that I knew "Dawn from The Office" until she DM'ed me to say hello. 😂

Celebrities who are LOVELY on the other hand -
Prince Charles. Once helped me catch my dog when she escaped. He was deeply amused by the whole thing, and very friendly!

Eddie Redmayne

Yolanda Brown

That’s quite an anecdote!

PinotGrigioCat · 08/06/2022 19:01

@XelaM love the specialist ref to Victor Wooten 🤣 DH is shocked that your friend had had an affair with him and said are you sure it wasn't his brother Reggie?

ShrimpIsTheFruitOfTheOcean · 08/06/2022 19:04

When I was a kid growing up in a very deprived area of Manchester I used to go to a kids play centre that was part of Save the Children charity. Princess Anne would visit occasionally and one time my mum received a call asking her to bring us to meet her. We were stood waiting in the cold for what seemed like hours. When she came out we started to cheer and wave. She got in her car and was driven off. No acknowledgement whatsoever. Granada reports were there filming and I remember the reporter looking bemused and asking if they would even bother using the footage 🤣

blue421 · 08/06/2022 19:06

I interviewed Princess Anne about that charity work for the BBC when I was ten. I listen back to the questions I asked her and cringe (and they were pre vetted by the BBC). She was very nice though.

VERY sure! He runs a bass class that my friend attended and they started hooking up after that and when he toured a few times. I mean my friend says he is extremely nice and helped her out a lot with her bass playing 😂They are still in touch. And my friend is very hot and much younger than him, so he has taste 🤣

XelaM · 08/06/2022 19:14

She doesn't live in the US by the way so it only happened a few times when she was over there on a short stay

AnonIsUsuallyAWoman · 08/06/2022 19:15

Has anyone ever met Kate Bush?

Calmerpolice · 08/06/2022 19:15

Worst:
Mark Williams (Father Brown, Arthur Weasley, Fast show) - miserable and rude.
Chris Barrie (Red Dwarf) - Arrogant and moody
Kenny Baker (Star Wars)
Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell)

Nicest:
Jimmy Carr
Gary Delaney
Michael Owen
Sarah Millican
Dave Gorman was an absolute sweetheart
