Starting a new thread as last one wasn't accepting new posts.. Years ago I was a young dancer and background singer .. Very shy starting out on the job I loved (age 16 ) Jim Davison was on the Sunderland Empire about 2002 ish.. He was awful.. Moody! Shouty! Miserable, Rude.😭 I danced and sang in a lot of shows afterwards, and the much bigger stars were absolutely lovely.. But he is the one I remember most.. Awful man!.. I have worked with the Nolan Sisters and they all were so lovely.. I really understand how Linda (she was so kind and lovely to me, as were all of the sisters) did not like Jim Davison when she was in Big Brother (that was not the man he acted like on that show) Out of all the 50+ lovely celebrities I worked with over 15 years(some quite famous stars) , this is the one I remember most as the most horrible one.

@Yogagrandmum

I think Hugh Grant is famously grumpy and freely admits it 😀

Ds (through work) says that Kier Starmer is one of the most decent and principled people he has ever come across.

Can concur on this. I’ve worked with Keir in the past, and he’s a a properly decent good guy. Regardless of politics, I would feel genuine trust in the government if he ever became PM.

Starlight86 · 08/06/2022 15:22

Steven Gerrard.

Smelt absolutely divine!!!!

Not rude but was quite underwhelming, he was in a hotel with his football team, my husband was a HUGE fan and when i asked if i could take a picture with him and my husband he said yes but made no conversation or smiled.

Saw Kylie Minogue walking down a street in Coven Garden with a female friend about 20 years ago - she looked very happy and sparkly and was absolutely tiny almost looked like a child. Met Arthur Smith in a hotel - went gushing to him how wonderful he was and could I buy him a drink. He said I'll have a J2O and then could you ever so politely fuck off. Which I did. As he was checking out in the morning he was all apologetic and very friendly and said he was in pre-gig mode so liked to be left alone. Fair enuff...

Accountsdept · 08/06/2022 15:35

Jack Fintcham, Kris Boyson, Rob Wootton, Jake Quickenden an absolute dream, nicest people ever. James Locke absolute prick

Starlight86 · 08/06/2022 15:39

Oh another one i remembered.

Met Eamon Holmes twice, he is an absolutely lovely lovely man.

First time i was viewing a wedding venue and he stopped to chat to us. Second time was at an industry awards ceremony, my mum was telling him she bought some of his wives clothes off of QVC and she loved them, he was very engaged and took time to chat and listen even though he was trying to be ushered along.

Delightful man!

Paula Yates in The Tube days. Utterly vile. You could hear her screaming at staff from down the corridor. Everyone hated her.
Alan Carr- very unfriendly and standoffish. Turned his back when a fan tried to take his photo.
Very lovely people-
Norman Wisdom
Gazza( in 80s while still a huge star)
Mark Addy
Keith Flint
Ricky Gervais
Michael Macintyre
Danny Dyer

Alan Carr was v friendly to DH and I, he was staying at the same hotel in Devon as we relaxed in the bar area, he asked very sweetly if his niece and nephew could stroke our dogs. One of my dogs is a little nervous and did a little ‘don’t touch me strange man’ growl at Alan, he jumped and laughed! I said sorry, Ddog is scared of men and he said ‘he’s clearly very perceptive’. I didn’t even realise it was Alan Carr until DH told me. He seemed v unassuming and un celeb like.

Ant and Deck were rude when I was a festival. My friends asked them for a photo and the response was a look of something unpleasant discovered on the sole of one’s shoe

Jamie Rednapp was really friendly and warm (and v handsome) and happy to pose for photos, this was the same festival as Ant and Dick.

My sister and her friends, all about 10 at the time, shouted ‘It’s Jeffrey’ ,to the guy from Rainbow. He told them to fuck off. This has always amused me

DontStopMeNow7 · 08/06/2022 15:43

Grew up in the same village as James Corden and we’re the same age so he went to school with loads of people I know; I also have a relative who was his friend back then. I got the impression he was a bit of a jokester, had more female friends than male and was nice enough and friendly. What’s interesting is that I heard about him pre-fame. I met him once and he was a bit quiet. If only I’d gone to different schools because then I would know more.

MyneighbourisTotoro · 08/06/2022 15:49

McFly, they were really unpleasant!

BobDear · 08/06/2022 15:49

Oh yes Danny Dyer - forgot him from my list. Fucking lovely and so much smarter than you think. He absolutely plays to his brand, but there is a sharp mind under the all the cockles and whelks bollocks.

Westover · 08/06/2022 15:50

I have involvement with sport, competing at just below elite level and now professionally. Generally, the higher the standard of athlete, the more pleasant they are, although there are exceptions.

Anyway, in equestrianism/eventing: Oli Townend. Can cut you dead and not respond to a greeting if he's not in the right mood, constantly scans the room for someone more interesting/richer to talk to and generally just a moody so and so. Considering he likes to emphasise how he didn't come from a rich or privileged background, he's remarkably disinterested in people from the same background.

Lynsey Sharp: 800m Olympic runner - bunny boiler. Likes to be Top Cat in more than her running.

KJT: charmless.

Mo Farah: Gormless and a bit like Oli Townend re disinterested in encouraging people on the way up but fairly harmless and not out and out nasty.

Jessica Ennis: I didn't particularly warm to her but nothing offensive, somewhat boring.

Steve Davies (snooker player): moody at times and can be curt.

Steven Hendry (snooker): bit creepy.

I will try and think of some others as I've met loads.

Robert peston is an arrogant prick

Quelle surprise

MyneighbourisTotoro · 08/06/2022 15:57

@Mammyloveswine I met mcfly. None of them were very nice, they didn’t want to be there, they didn’t appreciate any of the things we did to accommodate them, they weren’t even that nice to their fans and they were very unpleasant to speak to!

HundredMilesAnHour · 08/06/2022 14:11

A barrister friend of mine says the same about Keir Starmer.

Shame he wasn't so principled about (not) prosecuting Jimmy Savile......
And he doesn't seem to be able to answer the cervix question

KilmordenCastle · 07/06/2022 20:47

Not me but my colleagues served Rylan Clark-Neal at the restaurant I worked in at the time. This was quite a long time ago, maybe a couple of years after he did x factor. Apparently he was horrible. Really rude, obnoxious, difficult, complained about everything and just generally gave off an air of "don't you know who I am". Everyone who was working that shift said he was a complete dick and they prayed he'd never set foot in the restaurant again. I was glad I was off that night 😂

Glad you wrote this I have always hated him, no idea why he just strikes me as vile.

Justalittlebitfurther · 08/06/2022 16:04

Cliff Richard was absolutely vile to me in a car park near where he lived at the time. Horrible man.

HumourReplacementTherapy · 08/06/2022 16:05

NoToLandfill · 07/06/2022 21:16

I think I would let Jessica Ennis off being 'nice' while she was fitness training for the Olympics! She must have been super focused

Jess Ennis is lovely. She really is

MargotChateau · 08/06/2022 16:09

@TheHaka Oh no, sounds like Cillian Murphy was a hellion back in the days, did you meet him?

My experience of him was so different, I met him several times for a project and he was so, so lovely. The two letters he wrote the newspapers about his love and admiration for the sadly departed Helen Mccrory, really made me love him even more.

BluebellField · 08/06/2022 16:10

Jim Broadbent. Not a nice person.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 08/06/2022 16:13

Another one - I was at an after party given by Lauryn Hill and we saw a few stars, mostly Natalie Imbruglia (tiny and can't dance!) and Mark Owen - who was nice enough but then proceeded to get off with someone there who was overweight and not that attractive (not being bitchy just honest) - it was at a school.

There is no evidence he was personally involved in the Saville decision. Boris Johnson made that up.

Hobbesmanc · 08/06/2022 14:27

I know. In my defence I was only 7. The other actress filming was Patsy Rowlands and I was very excited as she had been in the Carry on Films! They were filming outside the Post Offcie at Moor Allerton shops in Leeds. I hadnt thought of that place for forty years so lots of nice memories

Oh I see. Bit different then.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 08/06/2022 16:17

@BobDear - I can concur that DB worked with Damian Lewis recently and said he was lovely.

Dominic West on the other hand...!

Starbeach · 08/06/2022 16:22

Toadie out of neighbours was a right prick, Dr Karl though was a surprisingly good laugh.

Wesley Snipes was a top man made the effort to have photos done and absolutely loved spending time with people.

oh and one bloke out of Blink 182 sat next to me in the airport and we were chatting for a while, probably only talking to me as he realised I had absolutely no idea who he was until I noticed a load of people when I got off saying oh thats so and so from Blink 182 😂

Mygodicanteven · 08/06/2022 16:25

Benedict Cumberbatch. Absolute knob.

Alan Rickman. For some reason, was expecting him to not be very nice but he was lovely. Funny, too.
Kate Moss. Charming. And incredibly beautiful. She also has the smoothest complexion I've ever seen. 😂
