Dad in women's loo .

1000 replies

HappyDays40 · 04/06/2022 14:02

I have been to the loo in Mc Donald's and was mid flow when a dad walks in with his daughters aged about 4 and 6.He stands waiting while his daughters are using the toilet. I came out and said you are not supposed to be in here.
He said he had to take his daughters to the loo and I told him that he needed to either wait outside or take them the mens. He said they don't need to see that and I told him that he shouldn't be hanging round in women's toilets for any reason. His sense of entitlement gave me the rage so I told a member of staff. I can only imagine how triggering that could be for some women. Intrusive fucker.

Get a grip.

My partner had to take my baby boy into a women’s toilet at a pub in order to change his nappy. There was nowhere else he could go. No baby changing specific toilet and nothing in the men’s toilet. So that’s technically two males in a women’s toilet - Would you be enraged about that too?! The poor dad was just doing what he could! Get off your high horse.

Blossomtoes · 04/06/2022 21:11

You said men are not a threat to women. That is what your post said

Smileyaxolotl1 · 04/06/2022 21:12

let’s just be clear here.
a woman is so deluded that she has just suggested that men are no more a threat to women than trees are.

this is the calibre of woman who are desperately fighting for men to be allowed access to female spaces.

Not sure I should be feeding the beast- but why are girls at risk going into the men’s toilet in the company of their dad?

This is MN, where all men in the women's loo (and funnily enough, no one has said anything about male toilet attendants) are a danger to women, and all men in the men's loos are a danger to any female going in there.

I said that men are potentially a threat to women. Which they.

You denied this and called me absurd for stating a basic historical and biological fact.

Gizacluethen · 04/06/2022 14:13

He wasn't watching you piss, he was making sure his daughters were safe. What are dad's supposed to do when their daughters need the toilet? You can't send little kids in alone, he can't take them into the men's where there are men stood at urinals. He did the right thing.

At work I direct them to the accessible loo. Our toilets are tiny though and small kids don't need to see strange men pissing.

Then he should have spoken to the staff or changed him on his lap in the mens as women have done frequently when there is no baby change available. He has no business being in the womens toilets because he is NOT A WOMAN. And is an entitled arsehole. Well done on supporting another man to have no sense of womens boundaries.

Yes, it's batshit crazy. I thought Mumsnet were pro feminist but also realistic. I've just been told by a few people that stating the historical, sociological and biological truth that men can be a threat to women, that I'm 'absurd'.

That is what you said to me when I said the historical sociological and biological fact that men can be a threat to women.

Yes I think the risk of me being hit by a falling tree is higher than me being raped by a man toileting his young child in a public area, but please provide me data of a these fathers attacking women with their child in tow? But I’m the deluded one okay 😂

Alb0 · 04/06/2022 21:19

I myself was raped.

I was also assaulted in public toilet by a male.

But according to Blossomtoes , it doesn't happen, men are never a threat to women. I imagined it all.

Good on ya.

😂😂😂
personally I think I would have felt I uncomfortable and stressed aged 6, going into men’s toilets where there are groups of adult men openly pissing in urinals.
In this case I think it makes more sense for a man to accompany his small girls into the toilets with private cubicles, rather than expecting the small girls to go into the men’s loos and be exposed to that.

Did that man have two small children in tow?

ChocolateHippo · 04/06/2022 21:23

And yet no one has explained why it is OK for small boys to be exposed to undressed females while small girls must not be expected to risk even the slightest glance of any part of an undressed male 🙄.

The problem is any man can say they are 'waiting on my daughter' as an excuse. How do we know he even has a daughter? I mean if someone enters and he's already there and we didn't see him enter with a child, how do we know he even has a daughter there?

You aren't seeing the bigger picture. You give an inch, they take a mile. It's called Risk Management. You simply can't make any exceptions. Any. That's sad, it really is, but it's the way it has to be. I think I would have been much more amenable before the whole TRA thing happened. To me, that proved that you give an inch they take and mile and men will (and have, as documented in the UK, several times) will take advantage of any access to womens spaces. It's not absurd because there is actual documented evidence of this. Thats why there can be no exceptions no matter what. Unfortunately imo TRAs did the damage to that.

I really don’t think it’s the same thing at all tbh. In the same way that men can be a threat to women, they also can be a threat to children. I don’t know the specific stats, but the overwhelming majority of child sexual predators are men.

It’s a tiny little pub. That is where the pub owners directed him. He is not an entitled arsehole, he is a wonderful parent. You have decided to make this personal.

Alb0 · 04/06/2022 21:26

Blossomtoes · 04/06/2022 21:20

You said any man. It’s rubbish. I have not said men are not a threat to women. You made that up.

So you're saying that to a woman who doesn't know a strange man, that he is not a threat?

Do you really not understand why I said any man can be seen as a threat to a woman? Do you really, genuinely not understand what I was saying? Do I need to re-word it? I'm being genuine btw, in good faith. I'm autistic so I don't always explain things well. But even I am staggered, absolutely gobsmacked that someone doesn't understand that to a woman any man can possibly be a threat.

How else do I need to explain that?

Alb0 · 04/06/2022 21:27

AmaryIlis · 04/06/2022 21:21

Did that man have two small children in tow?

No, he didn't.

But any man can use that as an excuse, children sight unseen. Unless we saw him walk in there with the children, how do we know?

Smileyaxolotl1 · 04/06/2022 21:27

Jenhen89

I say again no decent man would go into woman’s toilets. They would do anything not to. Such as changing their child on their lap in the loo as I have done frequently in tiny pubs where they often have no changing table at all.

SmartCarDriver · 04/06/2022 21:28

@Alb0 I'm OPs case she did see him with two small children.
