Booing Boris. AIBU to say he deserved it?

I'm not a boo-er, it doesn't come naturally to me. Yet thinking of the photo of the queen, alone, at her husband's funeral contrasted with his snivelling 'apology' for tolerating depraved behaviour in his workplace together with his other contemptuous behaviour over the course of parliament, I'd have found it hard to resist. His presence just seems like adding more insult to injury.

I totally agree.

Duh. His presence at the St Paul's Thanksgiving service.

I’m sure some Tory MPs will be getting nervous seeing the footage -you would imagine the crowds who turn out for Royal events are most likely to be more conservative leaning voters. If he’s lost them it’s bad news for the Tory’s

Yes, very true.

Nope not at all, nor are they more likely to be middle class.

SunflowerGardens · 03/06/2022 15:10

YANBU, it was very funny and it seems Carrie also thinks so

SageCardy · 03/06/2022 15:11

Yeah I don't really enjoy things of that nature but I think it's fair to say in this case it's deserved.

I think it will give the tories a much clearer picture than any opinion poll. Watch this space.

RepublicOfNarnia · 03/06/2022 15:31

The BBC reported it as "Boos and cheers for Boris Johnson....". Really taking their so-called 'impartiality' to the edge of the cliff. I would have booed him but regardless of that the Brits are wedded to the tories no matter what.

YetiTeri · 03/06/2022 15:36

You expect festival crowds to boo Tories but royalists are far more likely to be Tory supporters. They're not necessarily middle class though.

These boos should make Tory MPs very nervous.

Lurkerlot · 03/06/2022 15:40

they would be fans of the royals, for them the picture of the queen, alone, at Phillips funeral the day after they partied, is enough for them to boo him.

hayley037 · 03/06/2022 15:47

If he is being booed by the sort of weirdos who dress up in union jacks and go to London to wave flags at the royals then he is in really big trouble.

I am sure a survey of the political views of the people who turn out for Royal events would be very different to the views of the general population.

GrandSlamFinale · 03/06/2022 16:06

YANBU. That said, I doubt the Tory party cares. People will keep voting them (god knows why), and they'll keep 'governing' and fattening their pockets whilst ignoring the problems that actually need addressing.

Hbh17 · 03/06/2022 16:17

Nobody deserves to be booed, and it's rather juvenile behaviour.

AclowncalledAlice · 03/06/2022 16:25

Not exactly a happy bunch are they? Maybe the penny has not so much dropped as plummeted.

Well, Boris gave his approval to those England football fans who booed the players for taking a knee, so in his case it’s hard to muster any sympathy.

Nobody, really? You can't think of one person ever who'd deserve it?

Most of the country are sick to the back teeth of party gate , it would be a very strange boss who didn't attend a leaving do at work .

Even old Keir was doing the same .

Very childish to boo and today wasn't the right occasion or place .

Its real life! People's lives it's always the time and occasion.

Can you provide evidence for your claim that most of the country are sick of Partygate?

Of course they are. Left leaning far more likely to be Republican

Isitsixoclockalready · 03/06/2022 16:38

Definitely don't think that it's unreasonable to boo him but unfortunately there seems to be enough politicians around him with too much vested interest in him remaining PM to see the back of him right now.
