Booing Boris. AIBU to say he deserved it?

I'm not a boo-er, it doesn't come naturally to me. Yet thinking of the photo of the queen, alone, at her husband's funeral contrasted with his snivelling 'apology' for tolerating depraved behaviour in his workplace together with his other contemptuous behaviour over the course of parliament, I'd have found it hard to resist. His presence just seems like adding more insult to injury.

If adults have to act with such immaturity they will be seen as being unable to put across their point of view in an articulate manner.
booing is for pantomime and children.

Did you watch Justine's interview with Boris Johnson? BJ can hardly be described as articulate.

WaitroseWoman · 07/06/2022 14:33

And last night's TV news interview with him after the result looked like 'time to draw a line under it' had had an entirely different meaning to Boris.

They're only seen that way by people who are either looking for a reason to slag off peaceful protest against a politician they like or people who are being ridiculous, so it's no great loss.

Given the Prime Minister seems to think he is some kind of pantomime entertainer, we have after all been told for months he was working at the parties so much be an entertainer, booing would seem entirely appropriate.

Heck he even goes and hides in fridges for our amusement.

Not sure how else a crowd of people can express their displeasure en masse at a distance. Would loud tutting and perhaps some mild finger wagging would have been more acceptable?

ClaudineClare · 07/06/2022 15:23

As for immaturity, well presumably the PM is there to set an example of how to behave in a responsible and adult manner. Calling the Leader of the Opposition Sir Beer Korma is very mature and not at all playground-ish, isn't it?

Now that really was disrespectful. Constant sniffing, huge eye pupils, and basically repeating meaningless tripe about moving on. He seems to be increasingly scared of dealing with journalists, obviously this is how he copes.

DuncinToffee · 07/06/2022 15:29

You never watch PMQs then KarmaStar?

WaitroseWoman · 07/06/2022 16:16

BJ must be used to being booed by now. He has experienced plenty of it. He probably didn't expect Booing for Boris from the Jubilee royalist crowd at St Paul's though.

Just a small, but varied, selection:

Bute House, Edinburgh

French Embassy, London

Home

Luxembourg - here he cancels a press conference rather than face the booing

I don't think he minds booing, really. After all, he was reluctant to condemn the booing of footballers taking the knee.

Thing is though they are trying to put it across other ways.

The latest election results spoke volumes.

But Johnson and other story's aren't listening. They still go on tv and media and state the country/people want us to get on with the job.

When people arent listening to words I guess you have to resort to actions which speak louder

Prince Louis had it right. Thumb your nose at him. But not at your mum.
