Booing Boris. AIBU to say he deserved it?

I'm not a boo-er, it doesn't come naturally to me. Yet thinking of the photo of the queen, alone, at her husband's funeral contrasted with his snivelling 'apology' for tolerating depraved behaviour in his workplace together with his other contemptuous behaviour over the course of parliament, I'd have found it hard to resist. His presence just seems like adding more insult to injury.

Who the fuck's idea was it to have him doing a reading? Tone deaf

CapMarvel · 03/06/2022 18:41

SueSaid · 03/06/2022 18:21

Time and a place surely and entering St Paul's for a service of thanksgiving would seem neither tbh.

😂😂😂😂😂

Sure hun.

lovescats3 · 03/06/2022 18:42

Inappropriate to boo ? Plenty of tugging forelocks on here

Didn't George Osbourne and Cameron get booed at the Olympic games in 2012? They still won the next election.

Never underestimate the English's love for the Tories on election day.

No. It was George Osborne at the Paralympics, following the cuts he'd made to disability benefits. Cameron came in for some, too, at the same event.

SueSaid · 03/06/2022 18:11

He got boos and cheers, bit like the Sussexes.

Seriously though wtf were the spectators doing, did they think it was a Big Brother launch night or something?!

So the crowd should have just flag-waved, scraped and bowed when Johnson turned up? Like good little patriots.

As for Harry and Meghan, we all know why they get booed and it ain't because of law breaking.

itsgettingweird · 03/06/2022 18:43

As our leader of the country has NO idea about appropriateness or time or place I don't think we can hold those he leads to account for following his!

lovescats3 · 03/06/2022 18:44

Better for the plebs not to boo and spoil the lying piece of shit's day out

I buried my 48 yr old husband in the summer of 2020. Only 15 people were able to attend his funeral. We all had to sit 2 meters apart.

Boris (and anyone else at the parties) absolutely deserves to be booed. 😡

Flowers

My mum died last week at a hospice. We could visit but shill only 2 at a time and in masks.

We are lucky there's no limit on the funeral.

I cannot imagine the pain those who couldn't hug when attending or even being able to attend must have suffered. It doesn't bare thinking about.

User135644 · 03/06/2022 18:45

It was George Osborne at the Paralympics, following the cuts he'd made to disability benefits. Cameron came in for some, too, at the same event.

An awful lot of people suffered and then the Tories were voted back in at the next election with Cameron and Osborne continuing austerity for the poor, while the rich got richer.

SammyScrounge · 03/06/2022 18:40

Agreed. It was inappropriate on the steps of the Cathedral before a service. They could have waited until the special weekend was over and then booed as much as they like

Why assume he'll give them the opportunity? He's a coward.

Jellykat · 03/06/2022 18:45

I think it was appropriate to boo him, given that some Tory MPs flippantly keep trying to tell us to 'move on'...
For some, the hypocrisy, bullshit and pain served up by our Prime Minister understandably runs deep, those 'just forget about it' Tories need to know that.

ClaudineClare · 03/06/2022 18:46

Even old Keir was doing the same

Careful, you'll scrape right through the bottom of that barrel. #bringyourownboos

Lonelycrab · 03/06/2022 18:46

he’s absolutely ruined this country through ambition and ego.

Depressingly correct😞

User135644 · 03/06/2022 18:46

Shame they couldn't pull the Covid card to keep him away like the Queen's revolting, disgusting son.

Crikeyalmighty · 03/06/2022 18:48

What gets me is if Starmer was in charge , the Johnson/Tory lovers on here would be all over the booing.!! The. Fact is it isn't the old school Tory's in charge, it's UKIP under another name- most decent Tory MPs have moved on

ClaudineClare · 03/06/2022 18:48

@itsgettingweird sorry to hear about your mum Flowers

@JaniieJones as i pointed out ip thread, there is basically no other time that the public gets any access to Johnson. I’d fully support him making himself available to be booed at a more appropriate time.

Me too, if he wants to pencil in a weekly session for booing I’ll gladly attend each & every one

Exactly that. Very astute observation.

after reading this thread I’ve just watched the video of John Prescott punching a man who egged him and then getting into an actual tussle on the street. Somehow I remember this making John Prescott kind of relatable at the time 😂 maybe Johnson could get into a fist fight to raise his popularity?

I'd pay cash money to watch him being battered like a cod.

GoodJanetBadJanet · 03/06/2022 18:53

YANBU, was great to see him booed.
I'm not usually a booer or protester either, but it was fully deserved and got across the country's feelings perfectly.

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 03/06/2022 18:53

He only got booed because you can't throw rotten tomatoes that far.

SueSaid · 03/06/2022 18:21

If you say so but I still think it would be unreasonable in this day and age to behead people on the way out of a church no matter how annoying you find them.

newnamethanks · 03/06/2022 19:01

User1535 you are not seriously suggesting that because 'London is a Labour city' the Union flag waving, monarchy-loving jubilee enthusiasts outside St Paul's are representatives of the International Workers Party or similar are you? I think that's extremely unlikely.

I think he deserves it, but not today. Today was about HMQ only.

This would be the same HMQ who trolled him with a line about honesty and integrity?

As a PP said, she would probably be all in favour!
