On holiday abroad in foreign country we have never come to before with our 2 young children. Have woken up at midnight to find partner creeping out of the room, not back yet an hour and a half later??? It is our 3rd night here... not taken phone, car keys or wallet? Feeling concerned!!!

He probably has a pocket of cash and drinking somewhere. Is there a reason you are worried?

AntiHop · 03/06/2022 00:30

That's awful! I'd be both furious and worried. Has he ever done anything like this before?

DreamingofTimbuktu · 03/06/2022 00:30

Jet lag and gone for a walk?

Tigertigertigertiger · 03/06/2022 00:31

He’s gone for a walk or a drink perhaps ?

Vikinga · 03/06/2022 00:32

Has he gone out for a drink

Justyouwaitandseeagain · 03/06/2022 00:32

Where did you think he was going when you first noticed him leaving? Why are you only now getting concerned? I presume he hasn't done anything like this before?

Justyouwaitandseeagain · 03/06/2022 00:34

Does seem a bit odd not to take his phone or wallet though. How was he throughout today / at bedtime / rest of the holiday so far?

Motheranddaughtertotwo · 03/06/2022 00:34

Why didn’t you call after him? Is this normal for him? I’d be fuming!

5foot5 · 03/06/2022 00:34

Is the bar in the hotel still open? Probably gone for a drink and will charge it to the room.

If your children are very young then I am guessing they are sharing a room with you, hence him creeping out, trying not to wake them. And you.

Go to sleep and leave it till morning. Then ask him to let you know or leave a note if he goes out again so you know where he is if you need him.

RaspberryParfait · 03/06/2022 00:35

Didn’t you ask him where he was going if you caught him creeping out? Did he see you woke up?

Is it s resort hotel where he’s probably stayed on the grounds or a hotel on the street kind of thing where he could be anywhere? What time is the bar open til?

AlternativePerspective · 03/06/2022 00:36

Why didn’t you call out and ask where he was going?

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/06/2022 00:37

I've done that with jet lag. Went and found a quiet corner to read.

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 03/06/2022 00:37

Why on earth wouldn't you ask where he was going if you saw him leave?

Tinder/Grindr + burner phone?

Disclaimer: I watch a lot of television. He might just have indigestion and has taken himself off for a constitutional.

minutesturntohours · 03/06/2022 00:42

eh??!

Maybe you were sleeping and he fancied a sit outside.

Why on earth didnt you ask him?

nearlyspringyay · 03/06/2022 00:42

Why didn't you ask?

He's gone for a drink, reasonable, or a hook up, clearly unreasonable.

My dad cant go to the toilet without my mam questioning how long he will be!

Dont get the half term gig though. Why would anyone be that ridiculous?

Maybe he's gone for a walk because he can't sleep?

brokengoalposts · 03/06/2022 00:45

He's not missing, he's just gone out.

How odd not to take phone or wallet

myammus · 03/06/2022 00:47

did you not…ask him? ‘missing’ is a bit dramatic

true.

Do you mind that thread about the girl who wanted paracetemol and ended up stuck on the kitchen counter? I'm gutted she got it pulled from threads, I was in literal tears.
