Partner gone missing from hotel room

On holiday abroad in foreign country we have never come to before with our 2 young children. Have woken up at midnight to find partner creeping out of the room, not back yet an hour and a half later??? It is our 3rd night here... not taken phone, car keys or wallet? Feeling concerned!!!

Are you near a beach or pool? Taking nothing makes me think midnight swim - he'd not want to leave anything out while he's in the water, but also wouldn't want to take things in the water with him.

Or there's also sleepwalking. Can you tell if he's taken a room key/key card?

vodkaredbullgirl · 03/06/2022 00:50

🤔gone for a walk

Creeping as his back hunched over and tip toeing?

How did you see him in the dark?

Is he an alcoholic? Or has been?

When you put the light in you must have seen what clothing he put on? Was it smart dressing up or casual?

Is he in any medication which would cause him to sleep walk?

Why didn't you hiss 'Where are you going?'

🤔gone for a walk

More than a walk I suspect.

smileandsing · 03/06/2022 00:59

Not sure why people wouldn't believe this, I've unfortunately experiencer it. I'm sure there will be a backstory, mine involved alcohol issues (him, not me).

OP, ask him. And tell him if you don't want him to do it again. Personally I hated the sneaking out (he did it at home too), it made me feel so uneasy

DenholmElliot1 · 03/06/2022 01:01

People don't believe it because the OP won't say why she didn't ask him where he was going. I mean, that's the unreasonable bit

Luredbyapomegranate · 03/06/2022 01:03

He’ll just have gone for a wander because he can’t sleep I imagine? Or a drink in the bar. Try not to worry.

MolkosTeenageAngst · 03/06/2022 01:09

Does he have form for this kind of behaviour? Perhaps he’s just gone for a walk. Are you near the sea? When I’ve been staying near the beach in a warm country sometimes I’ve liked to go and sit on the beach at night and collect my thoughts.

Angelbaby1985 · 03/06/2022 01:12

its the kind of thing I do go for a wander maybe a wee drink at the bar. Does he have a door key to get back in, If its a hotel can you call reception ask if he's in the bar

GordonBennetttt · 03/06/2022 01:16

He could've gone out to find a prostitute, or to buy some drugs or going to do cartwheels in the sand or swim nakey in the sea or orrr... Nevermind he's probably just gone for a walk.

conjourbonjour · 03/06/2022 01:18

Prostitute 😂

PorkySisyphus · 03/06/2022 01:26

Actually, on second thought I've decided he's gone to meet with Juan El Bueno to see if he can negotiate a trade corridor from La Linea to Summerhouse.......

Either that or he's gone to find a frigo pie.............

EdinaMonsoon · 03/06/2022 01:33

I’m trying to imagine watching DH creep out of a hotel room in the middle of the night & me not saying “Erm, DH? WTAF?” 🤔

So let’s say that this is true… Does he have form for sleep walking? (Eldest DS does & you would absolutely believe him to be fully awake, despite being asleep).

Has he ever done anything similar?

Does he have form for cheating/addiction/anything that has made you suspicious before?

In all likelihood he has gone for a walk because he can’t sleep. I just don’t understand why you are asking the internet when you watched him leave 🤷‍♀️

FlissyPaps · 03/06/2022 01:41

When you say keys do you mean keys for your hotel room?

If so, I’d be concerned too OP. That means him knocking on the door (potentially waking children up) to get back in.

What time is it now in the country you’re in?

If it was me. I’d quickly nip to the hotel bar to see if he’s there. (Obviously making sure the door is locked behind me and I have key. Before anyone screams The McCanns)

PinkyFlamingo · 03/06/2022 01:42

Missing? He's gone out.

vodkaredbullgirl · 03/06/2022 01:43

I'm going to be up all night wondering where he could have gone.

Oh hang on got no choice working a night shift.

Bizzlemizzle · 03/06/2022 01:57

As if you wouldn't ask "and where the f**k are you going?" 😂😂😂😂

Angelbaby1985 · 03/06/2022 02:13

surly if he was away to meet a prostitute he would of taken his phone unless he has a secret on

cdba88 · 03/06/2022 02:20

Wtf!? Is he back

LoisLane66 · 03/06/2022 02:23

You typed the post at 28 minutes past midnight yet you say you woke up at midnight and 90 minutes later he's still not back. How's that? The times don't match.
