Partner gone missing from hotel room

On holiday abroad in foreign country we have never come to before with our 2 young children. Have woken up at midnight to find partner creeping out of the room, not back yet an hour and a half later??? It is our 3rd night here... not taken phone, car keys or wallet? Feeling concerned!!!

OP posts:
girlmom21 · 03/06/2022 07:15

Was he actually creeping out or did he just leave the room?

Sniffypete · 03/06/2022 07:19

Oh no! OP is now missing too!

The fact that the op hasn’t come back to update makes me very suspicious of this thread. Why did she not go after him or call out at least?

He probably came back not long after she posted, they had a row about where he had been and got to sleep at 3am. Still snoring.

WooNoodle · 03/06/2022 07:20

He wouldn't need your car keys If your car isn't with you.

But anyway, I hope it all turns out OK and he's just been in the swimming pool or couldn't sleep or something like that.

maddening · 03/06/2022 07:23

Hope you have found him op

Trixiefirecracker · 03/06/2022 07:24

Probably couldn’t sleep and went for a walk?

Nutellaspoon · 03/06/2022 06:13

I'd say he's got the runs, didn't want the entire family go hear and smell the hour or so sitting on the loo so ran off to find a men's toilets somewhere in the hotel which would presumably be pretty empty if it's night time.

This is what I’d bet on.

Why is it always MN blokes who wander off from hotel rooms, go out without money or means of contact, go out without a mobile phone with enough charge in their battery, wander off without saying where they're going despite the woman being stuck in the hotel with the kids, yada yada.

how do these knuckle-heads manage to drag themselves through the day and hold down a job long enough to draw a pay packet. Unbelievable

I always slope out early and did so when the dcs were little. Wandering the streets and finding the first cafe open when the streets are being washed is such an adventure when your day to day life is toddlers and suburbia.

Somanysocks · 03/06/2022 07:37

He left to start a new life of unfettered joy and happiness with the lovely young childfree wench he met the day before whose father owns the local brewery.

BigFatLiar · 03/06/2022 07:42

Abducted by aliens.

OutDamnedSpot · 03/06/2022 07:44

I can’t tell from hour post whether you’re really worried, or furious. I guess it depends on the husband too.

ExH would have done something like this. He’d be drinking, or shagging.

DP would also do it, but he has chronic insomnia, so he’d have been off for a walk.

justfiveminutes · 03/06/2022 07:46

I do this on holiday if I can't sleep and don't want to disturb anyone. I'd be sitting outside listening to the sea or in a quiet corner. If you saw him going I'm not sure why you didn't ask him about it though.
Is he back now?

KangarooKenny · 03/06/2022 07:46

He should have left a note. But then I would have asked him where he was going

I've done this many times - eg at 2am when I have insomnia, I would take a book and usually my phone though. In a hotel you can charge to the room

Kool4katz · 03/06/2022 07:49

Who posts such drivel on Mumsnet at that hour of the morning? Students?

TabithaTittlemouse · 03/06/2022 07:49

Maybe he’s gone for tea with the Queen. Getting in there early because she’s got a massive to do list for today.

SunnyShiner · 03/06/2022 07:49

He probably went to a bar

NashvilleQueen · 03/06/2022 07:53

I had a work colleague who used to like walking the streets of unfamiliar cities very late at night. I used to think it was risky as he had usually had a bit to drink beforehand.

Invested in where-is-the-husband now.
I assume he came back from his walk or whatever and they are currently enjoying their holiday.

Bednobsbroomsticks · 03/06/2022 07:57

Sleepwalking?

AuntieMarys · 03/06/2022 07:58

Gone to queue at airport for the flight back

YesitsJacqueline · 03/06/2022 07:58

If I wanted to know where my husband was going I definitely wouldn't ask him
I'd message strangers that have never met either of us and I'd ask them .....
