To update about The Family Sex Show

There are active two threads on this in Feminism but I feel I just have to update here for traffic. Although protests appear to have, for now, stopped the theatre production going ahead, new and highly disturbing material has today appeared on their webpage, clearly aimed at children. It (cheerily and breezily) suggests, among other things, that children search for images of masturbating animals on the internet and then draw what they see. I am not going to Google that term, I really don't want that in my history, but first, can you imagine what children will be exposed to if they search that, and second, this is pure and simple grooming of children into being abused. Masturbating animals? What larks! Lets have an arts and crafts session about it! Next steps: Masturbating with Uncle Jim? Why not? Masturbating Uncle Jim? Of course!

I have now made a complaint to CEOP. Others may wish to as well.

The whole lot of them need investigating by the police.

CEOP is part of the police, and I have reported the website to them today. I previously complained to the NSPCC but they seem to be toothless. The new material today goes beyond what we had before in terms of actual grooming.

The levels these people sink to break any and all boundaries of children is nothing but sick and depraved, who benefits when children's boundaries are removed? We all know the answer to that and anyone complicit in that or condoning it is a reprehensible human being who should be staring at four walls of a prison cell.

This is flat out grooming of children for sexual purposes.

I made that point very clearly to te NSPCC but they didn't seem to care much. I have now made it to CEOP.

If any poster agrees that this show should be going ahead, can they post why they think that children's boundaries should be being lowered in this way?

We all know who benefits from all of this. They now call themselves "MAPs" and claim to be a vulnerable minority group, but we know them...

@internetpersonme I would not have believed it if I had not seen it with my own eyes. Having been forced to cancel their show by "violent" people making "illegal" threats, as they put it on Twitter (aka parents, and safeguarding and mental health professionals who could spot groomers and abuse enablers when they see them), they have now doubled down on the online grooming.

That's an incredibly fast way to have your family's devices banned from a number of sites. In no way a hostage to a hard drive search. 😱 🤯

I find it extraordinary that this is only being scrutinised and protested by women here. How the hell can something so flagrantly transgressive be being overlooked?

Funny isn't it. 38,000 people complained so the show was stopped and protestors are described as "extremists". Looks like there are an awful lot of extremists out there!!!

There are others outside of MN onto this, a petition on CitizenGO got nearly 40 000 signatures. There a lot of kerfuffle on Twitter too.

Well, they have a point I guess, I certainly an "extremist" when it comes to any spectrum being for or against child sexual abuse. I wouldn't want to be anywhere other than at the very extreme end of any spectrum on this issue.

That was a lame reply and yet the association with the NSPCC was dropped quick smart after you and others contacted the NSPCC so I credit that to you and those who alerted them.

Well the BBC article from an hour ago uses that picture of performers simulating sex in it, whch is good as people can see what is really being discussed, but they are way too neutral/ too much on the fence about it in the copy.

Are theatre staff or performers going to gather those children's drawing and what will they be doing with them afterwards - distributing them to 'stakeholders' and interested parties for 'masturbation material' of their own?

This whole thing is sick. I can't believe it received funding - and there are some going crazy over the arts funding for the LGB Alliance but fully support the erosion of children's boundaries, protection and safeguarding.

TBH I found their section on 'self-care' more disturbing. Being as they advertise their show as being for five years and up, and being as the questions are clearly aimed at young children given the way they are written, they ask children how they like to be touched and what sexual practices they would like to try. It is not appropriate to encourage young children to think it is normal for adults to ask them these questions. Children should not have adult ideas about sex imposed and ' trying new sexual practices' imposed on them. Its easy to see how adults with a sexual interest in children would use pages such as this as part of their grooming. Look children, this is all about feeling good! This is all about caring!

These people are utterly irresponsible.
