There are active two threads on this in Feminism but I feel I just have to update here for traffic. Although protests appear to have, for now, stopped the theatre production going ahead, new and highly disturbing material has today appeared on their webpage, clearly aimed at children. It (cheerily and breezily) suggests, among other things, that children search for images of masturbating animals on the internet and then draw what they see. I am not going to Google that term, I really don't want that in my history, but first, can you imagine what children will be exposed to if they search that, and second, this is pure and simple grooming of children into being abused. Masturbating animals? What larks! Lets have an arts and crafts session about it! Next steps: Masturbating with Uncle Jim? Why not? Masturbating Uncle Jim? Of course!

I have now made a complaint to CEOP. Others may wish to as well.

Jesus Christ. It's a Paedophile Porn Panto. Disgraceful & wholly unnecessary. Imagine a child coming to school & saying a relative had encouraged them to do this? Safeguarding & social services would be round quicker than Usain Bolt.

Soringhaze · 19/04/2022 17:13

Wtaf. I can't find the animal masturbation (and other things I never thought I'd write) on their webpage. Does anyone have a link instead of a screenshot?

pastaandpesto · 19/04/2022 17:13

I am utterly horrified by this, and equally disgusted by the BBC's reporting on it, which makes the opposition to the show sound like Mary Whitehouse pearl-clutchers

Link to the BBC article: www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-61149449.amp

It's horrifying and I'm glad it's been stopped. Hopefully they won't find a way to rebrand and put it out as something else.

It is here thefamilysexshow.com/the-zine

This page doesn't seem to be linked on their main website, but they published it on Twitter

Puzzledandpissedoff · 19/04/2022 17:17

The levels these people sink to break any and all boundaries of children is nothing but sick and depraved

Very true, and the latest content on their site is only the sort of thing I'd expect, but let's at least be grateful they're doing it in plain sight so others can see them for exactly what they are

It's only by people speaking up that changes can be made, and frankly I'd be even more concerned if they were finding more secretive ways to access children (which wouldn't surprise me either)

theDudesmummy · 19/04/2022 17:17

thefamilysexshow.com/bodies-touch is where the animal masturbation bit appears

@takealettermsjones the show has been stopped (for now is all they do say on Twitter etc). But the website remans and has been updated today with disturbing paedophile grooming material.

You can get to the "Zine" part on their main website, click on the menu button on the top right.

Whereabouts on the website does it say this? I have been on, but can’t see this. Before making a complaint, I would like to see it.

Mary Whitehouse was astute enough to have seen the embedding of PIE within the Home Office. She contributed to the passing of the Protection of Children Act 1978.

Odd how it was politically expedient to ridicule her and deride the whole of her work as a pearl clutcher.

This is absolutely shocking and disturbing. Is there a petition against this company that we can sign?

theDudesmummy · 19/04/2022 17:23

Can you imagine the turgid excitement in the room while they were coming up with the various activities they recommend chidren do? "Have a go at drawing a penis!". I don't know why they don't just go the whole hog at this stage. "Have a go at sucking a penis!". I guess the Guardian, the BBC and the anti-TERFS on Twitter would love that too.

Thanks. Found it.

oakleaffy · 19/04/2022 17:25

Oh my goodness..
Masturbating animals??

What on EARTH are these pervs thinking?
It’s like they are trying to debase and corrupt young children.

Yes, some species of mammal masturbate -
But do children need to be aware of it

A man in lipstick and high heels teaching kids about masturbation? 🚫🚫🚫

theDudesmummy · 19/04/2022 17:27

The petition is on CitizenGO and has already got about 40 000 signatures. I would also urge people to keep contacting the NSPCC and to contact CEOP. Now it is about this blatant online grooming, rather that mostly about concern regarding live shows, it is certainly the case that anyone's child anywhere could be affected by this, it's not just a Local Authority/local safeguarding type issue.

@oakleaffy

They are trying to groom children to accept sexual abuse, yes, that the exact point of the whole thing.

OP posts:
oakleaffy · 19/04/2022 17:29

@higherthanthat

TBH I found their section on 'self-care' more disturbing. Being as they advertise their show as being for five years and up, and being as the questions are clearly aimed at young children given the way they are written, they ask children how they like to be touched and what sexual practices they would like to try. It is not appropriate to encourage young children to think it is normal for adults to ask them these questions. Children should not have adult ideas about sex imposed and ' trying new sexual practices' imposed on them. Its easy to see how adults with a sexual interest in children would use pages such as this as part of their grooming. Look children, this is all about feeling good! This is all about caring!

These people are utterly irresponsible.

It’s a Nonce’s Dream. 🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫
Maybebabyno2 · 19/04/2022 17:32

Watched the video on the touching page. Just waited for 'love has no age' to be displayed. Right at the end, there is was.

theDudesmummy · 19/04/2022 17:36

The website is now a clear and detailed playbook taking you through all the steps to groom children, especially younger children, for sexual abuse.

I know what I am talking about, As people who have been on some of the other threads will know, I have spoken in the course of my work to hundreds, probably over a thousand, adult survivors of sexual abuse. Not superficially, my work requires me to go over every detail that the survivor can remember of the abuse and the grooming. I know exactly and precisely in every detail how the groomers and abusers operate. THIS is how it is done folks.

OMG this image from the bbc article alone is quite alarming if the show is aimed at very young children.

To update about The Family Sex Show
theDudesmummy · 19/04/2022 17:38

I am glad they put that image in the BBC article. The Guardian article a few days ago was accompanied by a far more anodyne image of the performers.

Thank you for sharing that. I made the reference to her without really thinking, and in doing so provided a perfect example of how 'the establishment' can control the narrative on these issues. Looking at you, BBC.

What about the question "what part of your body feels nicest to touch?" question sandwiched between "what things do you do to look after yourself" and "how can you cheer up someone who is sad?"
Also asks if you make enough time for pleasure. Creepy change of language there....

The bodies page also asks if you'd like to make a playdoh vulva.
