I recently went to see a show at the theatre, predominantly to see a particular person. Although it was a production I wanted to see too.
I dont want to say what, as it's a bit outing.
Anyway I went with a friend and we loved it.
However, I cant stop thinking about this celeb since.
The show was wonderful and I want to go back.
I could go this weekend as i am off work.D Do I sound like a stalker??
And who can I go with? I cant ask same friend! I dont really have another person to ask.
I could go by myself but would that be strange?
I feel like I need to get it out if my system.
Sorry if I sound nutsBlush

What was the show? Was it strictly spin off by any chance?

Iusedtobecarmen · 13/04/2022 23:29

No not strictly
I don't want to say, as I've gushed a bit about this to RL friends so dont want to be recognised!
Also I meant to post in AIBU but must have pressed wrong board as didnt have my glasses onShock
Can it be moved mumsnet??

Maybe you've got a bit of a crush

littleblackno · 14/04/2022 05:09

Just go by yourself and enjoy
YANBU 😁

Monty27 · 14/04/2022 05:29

Go by yourself if you have to and afford to.
I met a woman during a theatre break. Both by ourselves at the bar.
She asked me if I was masterdating too.
Actually I was on a hot date but I did chuckle 😃

Mosaic123 · 14/04/2022 09:39

Go on your own, have fun!

Iusedtobecarmen · 14/04/2022 10:03

I don't know whether I should just be grateful that I've been. I could go by myself and technically could afford it ,but spending another 40 to 50 quid seems wasteful in one way!!!
Also , I'd kind of like to share it with someone rather than be alone.
I've also had another idea of maybe going to the stage door and seeing this actor possibly
Sorry I sound like a teenagerBlush

I'm dying to know who has sent you all a flutter....

Go enjoy have fun...

I have seen things more than once and have friends who have too. DD is currently obsessed with a west end musical and has seem it multiple times - drags her poor BF along every time.

downloads todayTix app and you may get it cheaper.

downtonupton · 14/04/2022 11:03

I've seen the same show twice in recent months (previews in Nov and then last week before cast change) - both times met a lone woman who had gone alone because she wanted to see it and so did rather than miss out.

Iusedtobecarmen · 14/04/2022 11:48

I'm going to make a decision today!!

If it's Bert in Mary Poppins I know someone who would claim first dibs on him. 😂

I’ve watched a few clips on Instagram of the new Dirty Dancing show. The guys arms have me captivated Grin

I really need to get my eyes tested . I read that as masturbating the first time
Iusedtobecarmen · 14/04/2022 11:59

Stopit. I was hoping to be told I'm being unreasonable to want to go and see a show I've only just seen!!

Going to the stage door is weird. Going back to see the show again isn't.

Honestly never meet your celeb crushes - they're almost always not what you think they are and you're better off sticking with the fantasy version in your head!

10HailMarys · 14/04/2022 12:09

Not weird at all! If you can afford it, it's fine.

Certainly not stalkerish - you're only proposing going to see a show again that features your new favourite celeb - it's not like you're going round their house in the dead of night to to rummage through their bins!

I haven't been to see theatre stuff twice, but I've definitely done this with films at the cinema! Also a couple of years ago there was a TV mini-series whose lead actor I was so smitten by that I watched the whole thing three times over one weekend Blush

Iusedtobecarmen · 14/04/2022 12:11

@WeirdlyKind
Oh well that's kinda nailed it for me. I was definitely going to incorporate the show with stage doorShock
Though on my own that would be more difficult than with friends so it would look less casualBlush

I would feel less stressed if I was like 18. Not a middle aged woman. Although the celeb is a perfectly acceptable age (not young)

Going to the stage door is weird

I mean, it's not really weird if someone goes to the stage door one night, just to get an autograph or something. It tips over into weirdness if they're doing it every night, though. Or if they're handing the actor teddy bears holding fluffy hearts and stuff.

I feel like I want to do it to say hi, enjoyed the show and to get a photo. That's it. No gifts or anything weird. Just an opportunity to see this person face to face I appreciate I sound mildly nuts.
