I recently went to see a show at the theatre, predominantly to see a particular person. Although it was a production I wanted to see too.
I dont want to say what, as it's a bit outing.
Anyway I went with a friend and we loved it.
However, I cant stop thinking about this celeb since.
The show was wonderful and I want to go back.
I could go this weekend as i am off work.D Do I sound like a stalker??
And who can I go with? I cant ask same friend! I dont really have another person to ask.
I could go by myself but would that be strange?
I feel like I need to get it out if my system.
Sorry if I sound nutsBlush

@Monty27

Go by yourself if you have to and afford to. I met a woman during a theatre break. Both by ourselves at the bar. She asked me if I was masterdating too. Actually I was on a hot date but I did chuckle 😃
I read the masterdating as something else. Blush

Quick question -
Stage door would be more odd by myself wouldn't it?!

OP posts:
ladydimitrescu · 14/04/2022 12:30

I think the amount of thought/intensity behind going to the door to catch a glimpse is a bit odd, it wouldn't be but you are coming across a bit obsessive. Maybe try compose yourself a bit and then decide 😅

ApocalypseNowt · 14/04/2022 12:32

Your face will determine if it's odd or not.

Pleasant smile = fine.

Stare-y eyes, creepy grin + a bit of drool = odd.

Just make sure to blink an appropriate amount.

PatSpringleaf · 14/04/2022 12:32

Definitely go. Stage door isn't weird by yourself, I'm sure plenty of people are alone. It'll make you happy, it's not weird at all. Do it!

I did see Carrie Hope Fletcher from Cinderella say that they're not allowed to do stage door atm so I'd check that they are for the show you're seeing.

I'd love to know who the celeb is too!

Iusedtobecarmen · 14/04/2022 12:45

How do I know if its allowed???!!!!(stage door)
I wish I'd just given more thought to my original visit.
Done stage door then and wrapped it all up!!

@10HailMarys

Going to the stage door is weird

I mean, it's not really weird if someone goes to the stage door one night, just to get an autograph or something. It tips over into weirdness if they're doing it every night, though. Or if they're handing the actor teddy bears holding fluffy hearts and stuff.

A friend of mine once embroidered something for Barry Manilow and persuaded some stage doorman to let her through to give it. Grin

I feel better now that there are crazier people than me!!

I do think you sound a bit mad tbh.

Maybe leave it a few weeks and see how you feel then?

Ugzbugz · 14/04/2022 12:59

Defo go and to the stage door, worse case you won't meet your crush and best case you will and will have a great time. I've seen ny favourite band many many times, and travelled to various locations, twice in a week and would go to the stage door but they are a bit to big for that. Go and enjoy. Life is to short not to enjoy this kind of thing x

Nelliephant1 · 14/04/2022 13:05

Go to the stage door!! It's perfectly usual and you only live once. Enjoy!!

Iusedtobecarmen · 14/04/2022 13:08

Thanks!
Would I be even weirder to go to the theatre after a matinee (but not watch the show again) and go to the stage door?Blush

Why oh why didnt we just go to the stage door in the first place
All this fussing would be over by now. It just didnt occur to me at the time, although I used to do it as a teenager when I saw bands.

Have up you joined the person’s Facebook fan page? I’m on a couple Blush? Some comments are quite entertaining and interesting, and you find out what the star is up to — tour dates etc. However, some comments are definantly stalkerish!

Go to the show and to the stage door. No one will give you a second glance (and if they do, who cares!). Enjoy!

They might come out of the theatre after the matinee. Lots have catering inside & daybeds so the actors can rest before the evening performance,
takingmytimeonmyride · 14/04/2022 13:13

I've been stage door after shows/gigs, including ones I've been to alone. If other people are hanging around it's fine. One band I saw told everyone to go to the stage door after. I thought the queue would be huge, but it wasn't. They were lovely and chatted with my son.

Do it!

No I'm not. As up to now although I've always like this person I havent been actively following them! I am thinking I will see then in any forthcoming productions now.

Who is it you have a crush on? Just tell us!
I had a major thing for Darius after he wason Pop Idol and travelled all over the place to lust over him. I met him a few times at the stage door.
Recently I have had a huge thing for Johannes from Strictly and went to a Meet and Greet. He was utterly gorgeous! I was on my own and no doubt looked like a middle aged desperado but seriously, who gives a shit? Just go and have a perve.

sazza76 · 14/04/2022 13:16

It’s not at all weird, go and enjoy yourself! There are people waiting at the stage door all the time, as long as people accept the person might not want to stop and chat or might leave a different way there’s nothing wrong with that.
It only tips over into being weird when people start following them or turning up at their house etc. George Michael once had a fan living under his floorboards!
It feels as though you would regret it if you missed out on the opportunity.

Bluetrews25 · 14/04/2022 13:19

Oh gosh it sounds like you are turning into a Cliff Richard / Daniel O'Donnell - type postmenopausal 'biggest fan'.
Are you going to buy his calendar next year?
You're on the edge, OP! Watch out!! Is this who you want to be?
it'll all end in court Grin

Don’t go to the stage door. That’s a bit too much.
