To feel like fucking crying?

My partner has a stomach bug. He caught it off the kids and he's had a couple of accidents.

Came in from work today to find the house stinking of shit. It's everywhere - our bed is going to have to be replaced, the bedroom carpet is ruined, it's on the stair carpet and the hall carpet downstairs.

I've just spent 45mins scrubbing the (tiny) bathroom because there was shit literally everywhere.

Can't really afford to buy a new bed but the mattress is heavily stained, now on both sides. It's going to cost hundreds for that and the carpets. Genuinely feel like crying my eyes out. Probably not helped by the fact he's doing nothing to help (like putting his soiled clothes in the shower rather than just leaving them). I've got piles of washing to do still too.

Aibu to be utterly fed up?

Take him to the vet and have him pts

Hugasauras · 06/04/2022 16:03

He needs to be staying in the bathroom sitting on toilet if it's literally just coming out like that. Not lying on the sofa shitting everywhere ConfusedNoro is horrible but I think most people just stay in the bathroom, not just shit all over the house!

oakleaffy · 06/04/2022 16:03

Yes, Noro isn’t fun.

He isn’t a child, nor is he presumably disabled.

Sitting on the loo holding a bucket is the best thing.

No one shits “ Everywhere” even with Noro.

( and I have had it badly, believe me)

1forAll74 · 06/04/2022 16:03

That sounds bad, and awful for your partner to experience. Maybe get a new mattress, as they are awful to clean if things are hugely stained. You can get some specialised cleaning products to clean really bad areas. but hard work to get things ok again.

Slightly off topic, but what is a poo troll? Is it what I think it is? 💩

rugbunch · 06/04/2022 16:05

Presumably he was in bed feeling unwell, and not wearing pyjamas.

But surely if you have the trots you don't sit bare assed on the sofa?

TonyBlairsLover · 06/04/2022 16:05

@SheAndHerAreWomen no it’s real, if u scroll back I’ve posted the photos

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 06/04/2022 16:07

I can understand the bed, I once woke up to it and it happend before I had chance to move, went through my pj's

But that much shit on the floor? Doesn't look like it's seeped through his clothes

tolerable · 06/04/2022 16:07

Someone who likes talking about poo on Mumsnet dot com. Tends to post unbelievable poo scenarios to get people to share their poo stories, for larks. Nowt so queer as folk.

WTF I've had a couple of bouts of campylobatcher over the years and have never managed to shit myself. There's definitely something wrong if he can't make it to the toilet.

Hugasauras · 06/04/2022 16:11

And yes when I had Norovirus I cleaned up after myself with bleach as I didn't want anyone else to catch it, not leave shitty clothes in the bath for DH to deal with. Of course it's miserable but if he didn't have you running around after him, what would he do? The cynic in me wonders me if he'd truly still leave shit all over the floor and soiled clothes in the shower if he knew he would be the one to deal with it.

I was hospitalised with a severe vomiting / poo bug when young. Dehydration- But didn’t shit or puke everywhere. Bucket and the loo.

Most people don’t.

urrrgh46 · 06/04/2022 16:12

I would be VERY cross with my DP if he'd done this. My eldest DS has colitis, when he was prediagnosis he was having liquid motions of mainly blood, accompanied with vomiting and cramps between 10 and 16 times a day he was 17 and not once did he not get to the toilet. He'd have times when he'd be on the toilet and being sick in the sink at the same time.

On a more helpful front. There is a product called Simple Solution - get it off Amazon or at Pets at home. It'll get the smell out and maybe even the stain. Hire a carpet cleaner and use the simple solution instead of carpet shampoo the first time you go over it. Use it on the mattress too. Then buy a really good mattress protector - that should save the mattress.

OMFG no wonder you're so upset;what the hell???

Is he secretly a farm animal?

WelcomeEverythingIsFine · 06/04/2022 16:12

May be a stupid question but can you claim on your house insurance for the damage?

Rebecca1305 · 06/04/2022 16:13

Nah fuck that I wouldn’t be cleaning it wait till he’s better and make him do it. I would get new carpets and mattress too if you can’t afford it do it on finance oh my god that’s horrific poor you.

stuntbubbles · 06/04/2022 16:13

@Hugasauras He didn’t leave the clothes in the shower, he just left them. I think the OP would have preferred them in the shower.
