20 fines issued to members of staff at Downing Street and thus was not one of the leading topics on ten o'clock news.

BJ has got away with it hasn't he?

Aren't there more important things going on in the world?

Says Boris, gleefully!!
TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 30/03/2022 23:43

Yes, Bojo is Teflon, I just don't get it!!

ilovesooty · 30/03/2022 23:46

He was always going to get away with it.

And he knew it.

He's contemptible.

Mysterian · 30/03/2022 23:51

It'll linger until the next election.

LardyDee · 31/03/2022 00:46

I don't think people really mind too much. He wasn't elected for probity, nor really for competence. He got brexit done.

Braproblem · 31/03/2022 00:53

Yes, it looks like he has indeed got away with it. Shocking on one level, but perhaps we should reflect on the fact that BJ's complete lack of honesty and integrity was well established long before he was elected, and so a large proportion of the electorate presumably just don't care about the PM's morals or lack thereof.

I think they should, but we live in a democratic country and I guess people have the right not to give a toss about standards in public life. And they clearly exercised that right when they put him in number 10, and he has behaved entirely in line with expectations. I won't pretend to understand why people made that choice, but they did. And they may well make it again despite all that has happened.

dangerrabbit · 31/03/2022 01:09

He could probably have sex with a pig live on TV and people would say he was doing his bit for the British farming industry

Nightlystroll · 31/03/2022 01:28

I saw something a couple of days ago that they haven't finished their investigations and he's having to do more paperwork for the enquiry. So all is not lost.

Kaibashira · 31/03/2022 01:52

He will only get away with it if each of us lets him. Email your MP - tell them you're disgusted. Next time someone knocks on your door campaigning - tell them you're disgusted. Talk about it, tweet about it, put it on Facebook.
Don't let him use a tragic war as a shield against partygate, Brexit, energy crisis, inflation....

Justcallmebebes · 31/03/2022 06:38

I'm not sure anyone really cares anymore

There's always something "more important", bit it doesn't mean that the prime Minister should be able to break the law having parties whilst telling members of the public they couldn't be with their family whilst they died painful lonely undignified deaths from the worst virus we've seen in living history.
InMySpareTime · 31/03/2022 06:46

The met have fined the "low hanging fruit" while they continue investigating the rest of the questionnaire responses and evidence. Partygate is far from over, I actually hope it takes long enough to resolve that it's still hanging over them in 2024.

Polyanthus2 · 31/03/2022 07:00

I'm hoping he will go.
I wonder who the hell the Cons speak to that they think he has solid support - everyone ie members of the public, I know either hates him or thinks he's an embarrassment.
But if they think he will lose the election or lose many seats they will dump him.

Is that you Carrie? Some of us very much do mind. My father was dying of covid in a care home while these bastards were partying. I will NEVER not mind

I'm sure some people care very much. Namely those who had to have a funeral or a wedding with restricted numbers of attendees, and women who were alone for long stretches of childbirth. Those events and dates are significant to people and will be remembered for a long time to come.

But aye, in answer to the op, the greased piglet gets away with it again Angry

Me too, but I think that poster’s point is that the people who voted for him don’t mind. They didn’t vote him in for his integrity or competence. They voted him in because of his stupid sound bites about getting Brexit done and his ability to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

FrecklesMalone · 31/03/2022 07:14

I fucking care. I couldn't hold my child's hand while they were alone in hospital close to death (they are physically better now but the mental scars are deep). On the same day our vile PM had drinks. DH missed out on his last Christmas with his Mum as she refused to break the rules. I will never forgive the lying narcissist.

Hotchox · 31/03/2022 07:18

Yeah, there's an awful lot of people out there whose attitude to issues is: "It's not an issue because it isn't happening to me." - they aren't bothered by Tories breaking their own rules because it wasn't one of their own relatives dying alone. So yeah, as long as people like that are making a lot of noise, I don't see there being any real consequences for the PM.

Merrymouse · 31/03/2022 07:23

No. This will come up at the next election, and by then there will be more incompetence to add to the list.

Kreuzberg · 31/03/2022 07:24

Waiting for the 'but labour' whataboutery...
And the 'until labour know what a woman is' gang to join in and gloss over the shitshow Hmm

I think they do mind, hence the police investigation brought about by public pressure...

If you think it's ok for Boris to break the law just because "Brexit" then I'm sure you'd be fine with him coming up to you, punching you, robbing your house and stealing your car.... What? He got Brexit done, so you don't mind...

So

Did you know that the Conservative party replaced Margaret Thatcher when we were actually at war with Iraq.

@DdraigGoch

Don't be ridiculous. You are never allowed to complain about anything because it could be worse, you could be in Yemen? Have a grip, Boris.
HRTQueen · 31/03/2022 09:36

Yes of course he has

He was always going to as there isn’t anyone to replace him
