20 fines issued to members of staff at Downing Street and thus was not one of the leading topics on ten o'clock news.

BJ has got away with it hasn't he?

I would like to hear from those still in thrall to BJ, what qualities of his are you impressed by? Please don’t chant “He got Brexit done.” I mean, what is it you specifically like or admire about him? What is the appeal here?

@clarrylove

Who cares really? I don't know any person who 100% stuck to the rules 100% of the time.
The people who died a lonely painful undignified death and the family left behind....
balalake · 31/03/2022 17:45

My view is 'so far'. Not all fines that may end up being issued have been so far.

I would question the mental health of anyone who still thinks Mr Johnson is fit to remain as Prime Minister. The Conservative Party has over 300 members of Parliament, and I am sure many of them would be better.

Before anyone doubts the wisdom of changing leader whilst there is a country invaded by a foreign power, in the first world war Asquith was replaced by Lloyd George, and during the first Gulf War Margaret Thatcher was replaced by John Major.

@Unphased

daimbarsatemydogsbone No other Pm or politicians has been held to that high level, why BJ?
Not true. Other politicians have had to resign because they cheated on their partner. I can’t think of any recent PM who has cheated as much as Johnson, and certainly none who haven’t been clear about acknowledging children.

I can't be certain but the Queen looked as if she was - at her husband's funeral.

Whatever you think of the Monarchy that was a show of actual leadership while Boris and his mob were pissing it all up the wall at number 10.

As for you not knowing anyone who didn't break the law - Birds of a feather I suppose.

I don't know anyone who was pissing it up like Boris and chums.

Oh come on, how many children and with whom has nothing at all to do with being a Pm,
ESP before he became Pm, how many MPs would have to resign if they’ve had children with different partners

It has everything to do with being PM because somebody who treats his family badly won’t treat others better.

David Mellor and Cecil Parkinson both resigned after cheating on their wives.

balalake · 31/03/2022 18:02

Unphased his private life shows how he treats women. To this day.

kulfi · 31/03/2022 18:06

“Oh come on, how many children and with whom has nothing at all to do with being a Pm,”

Are you actually joking?

Imagine if Teresa May had been “vague” about how many children she had and with who. Let just imagine how that would pan out...

You can’t imagine it because no woman would even get near to becoming an MP in that position - let alone the PM, There press would rip them to shreds! There is no way people would let that lie.

The hypocrisy is staggering.

Last time I looked at the Wikipedia page for BJ it said - “Children 6 (7)?” What kind of man can’t even own up to how many kids he has? Unbelievable!

I didn’t realise that the woman weren’t innocent parties in the act

theschitt · 31/03/2022 19:32

To be honest, I can't imagine any Tory voter caring.
If they did he wouldn't be in power.
It's the lack of caring which keeps the Tories in.
I can't believe how low the bar is for Boris and he still can't keep over it.

To be completely fair on Tory voters (and some swing voters) the alternative at the last election was a man who happily appeared on ‘Russia Today’. It’s also very rare for a sitting PM to be pushed out of office during their first term.

The question is how well he will do at the next election, and what other scandals come to light between now and then.

StoneofDestiny · 31/03/2022 20:18

I care very much that we have a PM who lies to Parliament and who breaks the law. Our PM is simply not trustworthy and this should be a concern of everybody.

CallmeHendricks · 31/03/2022 20:35

Lying to Parliament is, or rather should be, a VERY serious offence.
But the fact that Boris clearly couldn't give a shit and is even lying about having lied, is beyond appalling.

HeArInGhandsgirl11 · 31/03/2022 22:33

@DdraigGoch

Aren't there more important things going on in the world?
Couldn't agree more
CallmeHendricks · 31/03/2022 23:38

@HeArInGhandsgirl11 Aren't you capable of thinking about more than one thing at a time? We can be worried about one thing and angry about another, after all.
And personally, I cannot think of a single thing that Boris Johnson could bring to the table when it comes to dealing with Vladimir Putin, apart from fucking things up even further.

Wtf does that even mean?
Neverreturntoathread · 31/03/2022 23:49

Strange times when the Prime Minister’s team are officially criminalised and it’s not a major news story.

Stranger too that the fines to students who partied in lockdown were £10000 each but the fines to our leadership are more like £100.

Absolutely despise this government and yet probably going to have to vote for them because at least they know what a woman is and unlike Labour don’t encourage access to women’s safe spaces for any man who wants it.

Strange times indeed.

deeedeee · 31/03/2022 23:50

I remain disgusted

Blossomtoes · 31/03/2022 23:53

You could always spoil your paper @Neverreturntoathread. I don’t trust them on anything, why would they make an exception to their constant lying on women’s issues? They’ll say anything if they think there’s a vote in it.

Zotter · 01/04/2022 00:09

To be completely fair on Tory voters (and some swing voters) the alternative at the last election was a man who happily appeared on ‘Russia Today’.

And yet it was Corbyn who stood up in Parliament in 2018 condemning Russian money interfering in British Politics. The Tory MPs there shouted “shame” and “disgrace” at him for rightly calling this out.

Grantanow · 01/04/2022 00:43

He's off the Partygate hook unfortunately because of Ukraine. The Tories know he's their best chance of winning the next election and saving their seats so he won't be got rid of by them. What an awful outcome. He's the worst Prime Minister in living memory and then some.
