To ask what you have at home

Was talking with a colleagues yesterday about safety devises at home and they made out that I was kind of over the top with things I have.
They got the house alarm and ring cameras for security outside and things like first aid kits and co2 thingy but started laughing when I told them I had fire extinguishers upstairs and downstairs, with fire blankets in kitchen.
Just wondered what people have in their homes. I'd assumed everyone would have everything they could Hmm

From the things you've listed we have a first aid kit only.

Scarby9 · 30/03/2022 07:23

None of those.
I have plasters, paracetamol and cough mixture.

NeedAHoliday2021 · 30/03/2022 07:23

We have fire alarms and a looking hole in the door…

Scarby9 · 30/03/2022 07:24

Oh, and a smoke alarm.

NeedAHoliday2021 · 30/03/2022 07:24

Oh and first aid stuff.

GeneLovesJezebel · 30/03/2022 07:24

Some plasters and Germoline in the bathroom cupboard, and a cheap CCTV camera on the front of the house.

KatherineofGaunt · 30/03/2022 07:25

First aid kit downstairs and emergency car kit (first aid/breakdown), fire extinguisher in the kitchen and one in the car, fire ladder in the front bedroom and seat belt cutters/window breaking tools in the car.

Sparklingbrook · 30/03/2022 07:25

Fire and carbon monoxide alarms, a first aid kit with thermometer, plasters, the usual stuff.
I don't feel the need for anything more.

StrawberryStarfish · 30/03/2022 07:25

Smoke alarm
Carbon dioxide alarm
Dobermann for security

tootoasty · 30/03/2022 07:25

Maybe I took that fire
Officer course I did a bit too much to heart Confused

None of those bar a few first aid pits and pieces. Did have a burglar alarm in the house when we moved in but we disconnected it.

custardbear · 30/03/2022 07:26

CCTV, house alarm, Ring doorbell, medication (don't bother with first aid kits as they go out of date), fire alarms, upstairs we have fire escape windows in every room, fire blanket. I can't think of anything else

StillRunningWithScissors · 30/03/2022 07:27

First aid kit, fire alarms, cow detectors, fire extinguisher (in kitchen), baseball bat ;-)

Had been thinking about a fire blanket for kitchen as well.

ThatsGoingToHurt · 30/03/2022 07:27

Ive got a first aid box in the cupboard, smoke alarms, heat alarm, co2 monitor and a ring doorbell for security. I did have my house reworked when I first moved it so i know the electrics are safe. Window locks so the kids don’t open the windows and fall out.

custardbear · 30/03/2022 07:27

Oh fire, heat and CO alarms of course

StillRunningWithScissors · 30/03/2022 07:28

CO² detectors. Not cow detectors

aibutohavethisusername · 30/03/2022 07:28

First aid box
Fire/smoke detectors

KatherineofGaunt · 30/03/2022 07:28

Oh and the usual CO2 monitors inthe kitchen and two smoke alarms.

puddleduck234 · 30/03/2022 07:29

I have a fire extinguisher and blanket. Also make sure I have a clear exit before I go to bed and door keys to hand 😂 think that's anxiety though (must have died in a house fire in a previous life)

KatherineofGaunt · 30/03/2022 07:29

@StillRunningWithScissors

CO² detectors. Not cow detectors
😂

Well I have all the above apart from the ring alarm any way 😂
Waxonwaxoff0 · 30/03/2022 07:31

Nothing. Just a fire alarm and burglar alarm. Wouldn't cross my mind to have a fire extinguisher in my home, I don't know anyone that does that.

EileenGC · 30/03/2022 07:31

Smoke alarms and medication cabinet. I don't bother with a first aid kit, but I like to have antibiotics in hand for all my recurrent chest infections, which floor me overnight and I often can't even make it to the lift, let alone the doctor's practice. Those are my safety essentials.

FrankGrillosFloof · 30/03/2022 07:32

I spent longer than I should have wondering if cow detectors were a thing.

TheChosenTwo · 30/03/2022 07:33

House alarm (which we only ever activate when we go on holiday!), cctv and smoke alarms.
