So about a year ago we had a lady and her young baby move in opposite us.
At first she it's appeared she was single but after a few months I noticed a guy around a lot and seemed to be living there. I can't put my finger on it but they were an odd match and I once saw him leave the house, go to the car- he seemed to put something or collect something from under the wheel arch?! And then walk past the house and into the park..Anyway that might be totally irrelevant just weird. After a few months this guy moves out and within days they was another guy there who had seem to have moved in. This guy was very muscular and 'hard' looking! Didn't notice anything particularly weird about him but just how he literally turned up days after this over guy and was now moved in. Fast forward a few more months, and it's happened again! Within a matter of days one meat head guy has left and another moved in!
I forgot to add actually while second guy was living there a police officer did turn up to the house and was peering through the living room window. They were definitely in and seemed to be hiding?

So now this other guy is in. When guy number 2 was there the women got a new car and now he's gone a new car has arrived. She and new man are driving this car.
I can't work out what the hell is going on, or is it actually nothing? Bf thinks witness protection but im not sure really what that involves. House is council if relevant.

Any ideas?

Someone enjoying casual relationships??

Silverclocks · 25/03/2022 17:38

Lodgers?

dancingmonkey · 25/03/2022 17:39

Possibly of course, but seems strange , to me anyway, to change so fast and they are literally moved in from day one

Don't you know the rule on here that you must never show any kind of curiosity about your neighbours?

It is none of your business

Meanwhile, in the real world people would be making up all kinds of speculation about what it might be Grin

vodkaredbullgirl · 25/03/2022 17:40

Go and ask them what they playing at (joking)

To be honest, id find it weird. But then I know some people do move on fast from a relationship. There may have even been a cross over? Secretly seeing number 2 behind number ones back for a little while? I'm so nosey 🤣 I hope you find out and update this post 🤣

saveforthat · 25/03/2022 17:48

Sometimes people leave keys on top of a car wheel so someone else can collect the car for a service e.g. (boring)

You need to stop curtain twitching and get a life.

Crikeyalmighty · 25/03/2022 17:49

Shes got bloody low boundaries- but likes a bloke around the house maybe??

BluebellsGreenbells · 25/03/2022 17:52

So you ever see her on her own? Start a conversation and see if she’s ok?

You need to befriend her and find out.

Crunched · 25/03/2022 17:56

Could they be her brothers if they all look similar? Maybe they take it in turns to stay with her if she has had problems with an ex?
(Love a good speculation)

There was a time I was renting a room out and had 3 male lodgers one after another, over the course of a 18 months or so. All from abroad and they went back to their own countries for various reasons. All of them would have looked odd as my partner. But I guess that’s what the neighbours were thinking!

If it’s a 2 bed place she may well have the baby in with her. If it’s a 1 bed, then I don’t know. Or she’s a serial dater who meets lots of cocklodgers!

BlossomRussosHatCollection · 25/03/2022 17:58

Honestly? In the situation you describe I'd have my nose up to my net curtains trying to figure out what was going on - it does sound weird!

But I wouldn't create a Mumsnet thread asking for suggestions... What do you expect any of us to say? 😂

But it's the police throwing me off this serial dater thing, I think actually they have been there twice since she moved in.

Also a women with a clip board was at her door once for at least 30 minutes - getting no answer.
Yes I do WFH and can get distracted Grin

Living perfectly happily in the real world here without being a nosey judgemental arse, thanks
Todaysinner · 25/03/2022 18:22

Yes I know I know! She’s the mastermind of a drug dealing business transporting them inside the wheels of the stolen cars of which the number plates have been changed! The men are the drivers who comes to rest at her place as they travel all over the country running the business!
Once the job is done, they retire and move on to another place on the other side of the country where another drug lord waits to employ their services. Quite a cool business really. Think about it, low overheads with council providing housing so no need to rent expensive business premises especially what with all the rising living costs
