Sharing bed sheets, is it me?

Ok I really don't know if I am being weird here, but I have my sheets on my bed that I share with my husband and my daughter has hers that she shares with her boyfriend.
I bought myself some new bedding last week, I have used it once, washed it etc and now she has put it on her bed!
I don't know why but it makes me uneasy, obviously its washed between uses etc, I can't verbalise it but if makes me uncomfortable.

Ah now this wouldn’t happen in my house as I have a no size bed and DD has a double. I have no issue with the sheets being used by my family though, providing they are washed in between.

Do you have a bathroom bin?

Ragwort · 06/03/2022 21:16

She's got it easy hasn't she ... 24 and living at home with her boyfriend? Hmm . Why do you allow this? I have an adult DS and no way would he even dream if moving his GF into our home. There are flat shares, spare room.com etc ... too many DPs seem to secretly enjoy having their adult DC living at home with them and make a faux pretence about 'how annoying' the DC are.

She should not be taking any of your stuff, coats, shoes, handbags, whatever. At 24 or 16. (Unless you offer or you agree she can borrow whatever.)

Hahaha I'd forgotten about that one!
Sorry OP, we'll stop derailing the thread now

MakeMineALarge1 · 06/03/2022 21:26

@Ragwort he doesn't live here with her, he stays over sometimes.
They are both working full time

@limitedperiodonly yes we do have a bathroom bin?

Hankunamatata · 06/03/2022 21:32

My sheets are my sheets. Wouldn't want anyone else using them.

FantasticFebruary · 06/03/2022 21:32

@Justkeeppedaling

Do you ever stay in hotels?
So you'd be fine with house keeping staff 'borrowing' your shoes, cardi, books??
nettie434 · 06/03/2022 21:38

I do not mind sharing clean bedding. However, I would really mind if I bought something that I made clear was mine and then found that it had been borrowed.

MakeMineALarge1 · 06/03/2022 21:39

@Justkeeppedaling
I love staying in hotel
The sheets aren't mine.

Amnotamug · 06/03/2022 21:44

I genuinely couldn’t get too worked up about it ! We have five double beds in our house and I just use whatever is clean in the cupboard when bed changing.

Dreamstate · 06/03/2022 21:46

Very weird that. How do you feel about clothes you buy and wash they could of been something someone worn and returned and you wouldn't know. But I suppose that's okay cos you don't know but still...

MrsMingech · 06/03/2022 21:46

I'd have no problem sharing sheets with my little kids, they sleep in my bed anyway occasionally.

But I wouldn't want to share sheets with my teen.

He has his own sheets. The thought of sharing sheets with a teen or a shagging couple makes me feel a bit grim.

Yet don't think twice about sleeping in a premier inn.

So I have double standards, clearly.

NatriumChloride · 06/03/2022 21:47

@Squirrelblanket

I think you should call the police to report it and then burn the whole house down.
😂😂😂
RagzRebooted · 06/03/2022 21:48

@LittleGwyneth

I imagine if you say 'Darling I'd rather you didn't use my bedding - I shag your father on that' she would probably stop doing so.
Grin Yep, that will do it!
Babyvenusplant · 06/03/2022 21:54

Just keep your bedding somewhere separate 🤷‍♀️

Londoncallingme · 06/03/2022 21:58
Grin
MakeMineALarge1 · 06/03/2022 22:00

All bedding is kept in one place

OP posts:
Londoncallingme · 06/03/2022 22:00

Three teens, two have partners sleeping over, four same size beds in my house - all sheets in pile after laundering in utility room, all and any go in any beds. We do all stick to our own duvet sets though.

WeddingHangover · 06/03/2022 22:00

Do you bring your own sheets to hotels?

FluffyBooBoo · 06/03/2022 22:03
@TravellingFrom we haven't had overnight guests for ages, but I think I'd buy new.
Would you buy new for every guest? Or is it okay for guests to sleep in sheets slept in by someone else?

Would you expect new bedding to be bought if you went to stay at someone else's house?
