Dirty undergarments

Where does everyone put their dirty underwear that need washing? I wouldn't put it in wash basket with the rest of my clothes. I ask because I let mine pile up (weekly) and then put in for a wash as they don't get washed with any other clothing. What I have been doing is putting them in a medium sized laundry mesh bag, that I leave in the bathroom, not in open apparent space. But if you look around well enough, you will be able to spot it!
My issue is having to move it when we have workers round (boiler is in the bathroom) or even guests. Our downstairs bathroom is quite far from the living room so our guests unfortunately decide to go to our family bathroom upstairs as it's much closer. Just annoys me that I have to move it any time someone comes over. We've had 3 workers in the last 3 week that required work in the bathroom.
It got me thinking where do people put their underwear that need washing.

If you are needing to wash separately at high temperatures there is something wrong with your machine as washing powders/liquids are manufactured to be used at lower temperatures. Almost everything can now be washed on a 30 programme.

I’ve got a flagpole outside the front of the house. Whenever I take off my crusty pants, I hang them off there for all the neighbours to see. Doesn’t everyone? 🇬🇧

Alonelonelylonersbadidea · 04/03/2022 16:07

Seek medical help with your private regions OP.
Seriously, if it's nasty down there you may have a bacterial infection. It can easily happen and is nothing to be ashamed of...like periods or general smegma. All normal.

Please raise it at half mast to commentate all of OP’s fallen knickers Grin

Commemorate 🙄

Juanmariaramierz · 04/03/2022 16:20

I usually put everything down the laundry chute and let the maids or servants deal with all laundry matters.

LolaButt · 04/03/2022 16:33

I burn mine and then use the charr to scrawl unclean all over my front door.

Why not put the mesh bag in the washing basket ? That's what I do for tights. But yeah I wash everything together at 30. My underwear doesn't smell. I occasionally wash the sheets or towels at 60, but it's usually only when I've forgotten to alter the washing machine temperature for that programme.

OddsNSodsBitsNBobs · 04/03/2022 17:21

What the actual whattatty what?

No, this is not normal OP, regardless what you think! I'm with the 99% of posters here- all goes in the same laundry basket, period pants and all, then separated into darks and lights.....

But if you want to make life harder for yourself well go ahead 🤷🏼‍♀️

FlasherMcGruff · 04/03/2022 20:42

@MoominFeatures

Maybe we’re all certifiably feral for not, as a matter of course, isolating our filth-riddled smalls in a sealed chamber pending their ritual weekend cremation in the fire pit?

I’m really rather troubled by the OP.

This post has finished me Grin

I never understand the posts about having to use high temperatures to wash clothes. Where I live a lot of people wash in cold water, and I'm pretty sure we are all clean and hygienic! I agree, washing powders/liquids are just as effective in cooler temps.

BuddhaForMary · 04/03/2022 21:16

I wash everything at 30°. EVERYTHING. Lights and darks in together, towels, tea towels, undies, T-shirt's, socks, jeans. Everything gets chucked into. Chaos. And .. shockingly.. nothing bad has happened!

Dear god!!

It's not period pants.

It's period PANTS.

So totally different.

I have a three compartment laundry basket in the utility room, one for colours, one for white and one for dirties for mostly undies. I wouldn't wash undies with tea towels for instance so I see your point OP.

LakieLady · 04/03/2022 22:29

I don't put my drawers in the washing machine at all, I've had an autoclave installed so I can be sure they're properly sterile.

hulahooper2 · 04/03/2022 23:03

All washing goes in the same washing basket , then gets split into whites darks and colours. Underwear goes into the appropriate colour pile , and it’s not segregated

pollyroo · 04/03/2022 23:12

Op I wash all my knicks together on a 60 wash weekly as most of my other washing gets done on a 30 also .... wouldn't feel clean washing underwear on a 30. All of my used knicks for the week go in the laundry basket with all the other dirty clothes.

I wouldn't dream of washing knicks with like tea towels or anything .... the thought of that makes me feel a bit vom 🤮

So you aren't the only weirdo here op Grin

marieantoinehairnet · 04/03/2022 23:21

How dirty is your underwear?!?!

In the wash basket, because that's normal and I change it once a day, sometimes twice so it's not exactly soiled!!

kittensinthekitchen · 05/03/2022 00:52

@ElsieLappin

I must be really scuzzy cos it all gets chucked in together with the dog towels. My gussets don't smell of damp dog so it must be OK
Ah, but does your dog smell of damp gusset?
Shabtipup · 05/03/2022 01:11

I wash all my dirty clothes at the same time including underwear lol. Only time I'd even think to do it separately is if I had shat myself I guess ??? Very strange and time wasting imo but.. you do you Grin

AuntTwacky · 05/03/2022 01:14

I wash my undies in the dishwasher with all my plates and cutlery! I really don't see the problem with washing them with tea towels

Suzi888 · 05/03/2022 05:17

In the washing basket, but I do wash them separately.
