Dirty undergarments

Where does everyone put their dirty underwear that need washing? I wouldn't put it in wash basket with the rest of my clothes. I ask because I let mine pile up (weekly) and then put in for a wash as they don't get washed with any other clothing. What I have been doing is putting them in a medium sized laundry mesh bag, that I leave in the bathroom, not in open apparent space. But if you look around well enough, you will be able to spot it!
My issue is having to move it when we have workers round (boiler is in the bathroom) or even guests. Our downstairs bathroom is quite far from the living room so our guests unfortunately decide to go to our family bathroom upstairs as it's much closer. Just annoys me that I have to move it any time someone comes over. We've had 3 workers in the last 3 week that required work in the bathroom.
It got me thinking where do people put their underwear that need washing.

Bras are all hand washed, but they and our pants are in the laundry basket

Skelligsfeathers · 03/03/2022 23:37

Are you pooping your pants every day?

RampantIvy · 03/03/2022 23:38

@ChipButtyCurrySauce

Mine go straight in the wash with everything else! I do minimum 3 washloads a day.
Why so many? Are there a lot of people in your household?
Hawkins001 · 03/03/2022 23:38

Usually in with the general items

PickAChew · 03/03/2022 23:38

Just put it in the laundry basket. If yours is too dirty for that then wipe your arse properly.

There’s a lot about worn and over-worn underwear on here tonight.

poodlepoop · 03/03/2022 23:39

Is your fanny toxic?
Or do you have hairy hands? 🤔

CourtRand · 03/03/2022 23:39

Also even if you do want to keep it separate just keep the bag in your bedroom instead of having to move it around all the time to avoid people...

Skelligsfeathers · 03/03/2022 23:39

You know when you wear your underwear, it touches your other clothes., right? So the gussett of your pants touched your trousers. So why can't they touch in the washing basket?

rainbowunicorn · 03/03/2022 23:39

Bloody hell, some people really have too much time on their hands.

nomoremsniceperson · 03/03/2022 23:40

All my underwear goes in the main wash and in the same laundry basket as everything else. It's never occurred to me to separate it from the rest of the washing.

Perhaps OP's underwear is fancy and requires a delicate wash or something?

But they enjoy the excitement of their dirty “undergarments” being caught by the plumber..or boiler repair man..oh La la!
NatriumChloride · 03/03/2022 23:41

@XenoBitch

Honestly, you must have some serious nuclear level discharge coming out your vagina if you feel that you need to isolate your underwear from everything else. Do you use a different washing machine too? Maybe one in a distant outbuilding?
😂😂😂
TellMeMoreHellebore · 03/03/2022 23:41

How many guests and plumbers are you having round to create this 'issue'??

NatriumChloride · 03/03/2022 23:42

Is this a wind-up?!
😂

MoominFeatures · 03/03/2022 23:42

Maybe we’re all certifiably feral for not, as a matter of course, isolating our filth-riddled smalls in a sealed chamber pending their ritual weekend cremation in the fire pit?

I’m really rather troubled by the OP.

lateral · 03/03/2022 23:43

I'm not fussed by workers seeing mine, in fact I actively encourage it by hanging them from the kitchen ceiling using a series of ropes and pulleys.

😅 😅 😅 Brilliant! I can hardly breathe for laughing at this!!
watchingrnfire · 03/03/2022 23:44

Wow I can't possibly be the only person that washes separate to the rest of my clothing. I don't know, but I have always done this, and clearly thought it's what most people do but obviously not it would seem.
A lot of my clothes get washed at 30, I wouldn't wash underwear at 30, they are always washed at 60, perhaps this was why I have always washed separate.
But also thinking back to my childhood, I do remember my mum pre-hand washing underwear before putting in the washing machine with other clothes, I wouldn't have the time to do pre hand wash, so guess that's why I've always just kept it separate.

When you say 'undergarments', do you mean normal underwear or do you mean Garments in the Mormon sense? If so I understand the need to segregate your washing.
Why don't you keep it in your room?

Chloemol · 03/03/2022 23:45

In the laundry basket

They get washed with other stuff as normal

nomoremsniceperson · 03/03/2022 23:45

@TellMeMoreHellebore yeah I think you might be onto something. The title "dirty undergarments" is a bit of a dead giveaway now I come to think of it

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 03/03/2022 23:46

🙄this place gets crazier by the day.🙄

Just wash your stuff together, the soap cleans it all. You don't need a hot wash and you don't need a separate wash for your pants.

TellMeMoreHellebore · 03/03/2022 23:46

You have very antiquated ideas about laundry op!
