Dirty undergarments

Where does everyone put their dirty underwear that need washing? I wouldn't put it in wash basket with the rest of my clothes. I ask because I let mine pile up (weekly) and then put in for a wash as they don't get washed with any other clothing. What I have been doing is putting them in a medium sized laundry mesh bag, that I leave in the bathroom, not in open apparent space. But if you look around well enough, you will be able to spot it!
My issue is having to move it when we have workers round (boiler is in the bathroom) or even guests. Our downstairs bathroom is quite far from the living room so our guests unfortunately decide to go to our family bathroom upstairs as it's much closer. Just annoys me that I have to move it any time someone comes over. We've had 3 workers in the last 3 week that required work in the bathroom.
It got me thinking where do people put their underwear that need washing.

Should I not be washing my underwear with my other washing?…. Shock

TellMeMoreHellebore · 03/03/2022 23:28

It goes in with everything else!

Why on earth are you segregating it? Is this a thing?

gamerchick · 03/03/2022 23:29

In the wash basket where all the dirty clothes go. Is your underwear especially toxic?

VanGoghsDog · 03/03/2022 23:30

It goes in a pile on the floor along with all the dirty clothes and gets washed with them.

I have no idea why you're doing what you're doing.

TheUsualChaos · 03/03/2022 23:30

Er...in the laundry basket. Where else would you put it? Confused

XenoBitch · 03/03/2022 23:31

It goes in the washing basket with everything else, and that includes tea towels. It all gets washed!

AladdinPrincess999 · 03/03/2022 23:31

Goes with all our other washing. You're making more work for yourself Confused

PurpleDaisies · 03/03/2022 23:31

This is a very weird question.

JaneExotic · 03/03/2022 23:31

😯

DeffoJeffo · 03/03/2022 23:31

Absolutely bonkers. They go in with everything else! Life is too short. And the earth is too precious to waste energy on a whole wash cycle for 7 pairs of knickers and a couple of bras!!!

AlwaysLatte · 03/03/2022 23:32

We put them in the laundry bags with everything else. I just don't wash them with tablecloths/t towels/napkins.

ChipButtyCurrySauce · 03/03/2022 23:32

Mine go straight in the wash with everything else! I do minimum 3 washloads a day.

AwkwardPaws27 · 03/03/2022 23:32

I wouldn't put it in wash basket with the rest of my clothes

Why not? Washing machines clean clothes. You can literally wash reusable nappies in a regular washing machine. Why would you need to separate underwear from other clothes?
All our laundry goes in one basket.

MysweetAudrina · 03/03/2022 23:32

With all the other clothes that I'm washing. Why would you need to separate them? And I was all together.

MoominFeatures · 03/03/2022 23:32

WTAF

Im2022 · 03/03/2022 23:32

None of your business.

People are getting more and more weird I tell you.

How bloody hard is it to hide a mesh bag around your house? Stick it in your wardrobe or under your duvet until the repair men have gone. 🙄

moonbedazzled · 03/03/2022 23:33

You isolate your underwear? But it touches your clothes all the time you're dressed. So what does it matter if it touches your clothes in the dirty wash box?

CourtRand · 03/03/2022 23:34

In the laundry basket where DP then throws them in with all the other laundry. I'm pretty sure even fanny residue is washed away when pants are... washed.

Welldarn · 03/03/2022 23:34

Even if you want to wash your underwear separately, why would you not just keep it in the wash basket at the top? Just fish it out if other people put washing on top of it.

TellMeMoreHellebore · 03/03/2022 23:34

@PurpleDaisies

This is a very weird question.

Yes it is isn't it! Especially this late at night, it's almost as if....hmm

Bunty55 · 03/03/2022 23:35

Sometimes the questions on here make me question my own sanity

Rumplestrumpet · 03/03/2022 23:36

All pants go in the laundry basket except those that are so filthy due to poor wiping skills of small children that they go straight in the bin.

What on earth are you doing in your pants that requires such segregation?!

XenoBitch · 03/03/2022 23:36

Honestly, you must have some serious nuclear level discharge coming out your vagina if you feel that you need to isolate your underwear from everything else.
Do you use a different washing machine too? Maybe one in a distant outbuilding?

MerryPoppings · 03/03/2022 23:36

What bad thing would happen if your pants touched your other dirty clothes? And then got washed with them? I'm perhaps overly hygienic myself but I cannot figure out why you would think there is any need to do this.

MoominFeatures · 03/03/2022 23:36

Sorry, I still can’t move past “WTAF?”.

To whom would it even occur to segregate in this way…and why?
