Because 7.5 is nearly full and we’re still waiting.

Meanwhile,Johnson is apparently desperate to go to Ukraine. Presumably so he can dress up like Truss did when she visited the "frontline".

@cakeorwine

Johnson reminding us again how insensitive and tone deaf he is.

I wonder if he has watched Winter on Fire. All about what happened in 2014 in Ukraine. What they went through to get their President to listen to their views on the EU. The battles with the police. The deaths that were caused.

He forgets that many people in the UK voted to Remain in the EU. What message does he think that sends to those people when he compares Ukraine's fight against Russia for its freedom to the Brexit vote?

He forgets that many people in the Ukraine want to be a part of the EU.

Johnson seeks to divide people.

His actions and behaviour have not gone away. Because he can't change who he is.

Was Boris saying that the people of the UK should have fought in a similar way to the Ukraine to be able to be in the EU and free from Russian interference?

Haven't those poor people suffered enough? That's the last thing they need, him parading about like a war hero.

UnconditionalSurrender · 22/03/2022 17:44

Someone on Twitter said Johnson saying he wanted to go to Kyiv was a sort of 'Hold me back. Hold me back. Or I swear I will' moment. That made me laugh. I loved the way he sent the ministers out to say that wasn't what he meant about Ukraine and Brexit and then he came out and said he regretted none of it. I think he is trolling everyone at the moment. Wtaf have they not got rid yet? And still we await the met report....which wont happen until after the May elections at this rate.

DuncinToffee · 22/03/2022 17:56

GB News did a twitter poll this morning

Coming up on To The Point we want to know...

Do you still care about Partygate?

YES 55%
NO 45%

littledrummergirl · 23/03/2022 13:11

If Sunak really believes the shit he is coming out with he's thicker than shit.
5p a litre of fuel when it's jumped 40p+ in a month. That's going straight into the oil companies pockets.
The raise in basic tax allowance is a drop in the ocean compared to the rocketing costs of living.
So far he's taking the piss!
He's living in cloud cuckoo land. What a pile of shit.

ClaudineClare · 23/03/2022 14:25

1p income tax cut in April 2024. Isn't that convenient timing?

DuncinToffee · 23/03/2022 14:44

Sunak, like Johnson, just does not care.

Fluff

Beth Rigby reporting Told by source Met beginning to issue fines to 20 people

DuncinToffee · 28/03/2022 21:16

Robert Peston
The Cabinet Office has been told that an initial tranche of approximately 20 officials will be fined in next day or so for partying in breach of Covid19 restrictions. These are the “easiest cases”, the “low hanging fruit” according to a source…
Importantly they are just the first wave. There are many Downing St events with cake and/or wine on which the Met has not yet reached a definitive decision. It’s thought no decision has yet been made on whether Boris Johnson will be fined. And as for Sue Gray’s report into…
so-called Partygate, it won’t be published till all fines are levied, and that’s thought still to be weeks or even months away. Expect confirmation on some of this from Met tomorrow

Brave Boris doesn't need a fridge just yet

DuncinToffee · 29/03/2022 09:42

no rules were broken and all was guidance followed.

EthelTheAardvark · 29/03/2022 09:57

The police have now confirmed that they are making the first referral for twenty fixed penalty fines to be issued relating to Downing Street parties.

Watch this space for details of the recipients.

EthelTheAardvark · 29/03/2022 13:54

So people are being fined for attending parties that Johnson told Parliament never happened. What is the next excuse going to be?

DuncinToffee · 29/03/2022 14:24

Waiting for Sue Gray...... bit like Godot

DuncinToffee · 29/03/2022 14:30
Grin twitter.com/lbc/status/1508755413369511940?s=21 When this caller says breaking the law on 20 separate occasions is not as bad as the Labour Party @mrjamesob challenges him to explain why, without mentioning 'cheese or penises'.

It does not go well...

jgw1 · 29/03/2022 19:33

If I was the boss of an office that employed about 200 people and 10% of them had been found to have broken the law at work, I like to think I would have the decency to resign, especially if as is claimed to be the case here, I did not know of the law breaking. The latter rather suggests I was asleep at the wheel.

EthelTheAardvark · 29/03/2022 19:37

Looks like the response is that Johnson didn't lie because he didn't know parties had happened. Despite being present at, at the very least, the garden party and the birthday party.

But even if he didn't know, surely when he answered questions in Parliament he should have qualified his answers with something like "As far as I know". If he was relying on what someone told him, has that person been sacked? What steps did he take to make it absolutely clear that he needed to know the whole truth before answering questions in Parliament?

Don't be daft. The very last thing Boris wanted to know was that the law had been broken and the truth about it. I am sure he very deliberately didn't ask for the whole truth. He was probably sought assurances from Larry and Dilyn that there had been no parties. That way he can say he had those assurances and no one told him anything.
DuncinToffee · 29/03/2022 23:10

War in Ukraine!
Highest cost of living!
Now is not the time for a change in Tory leadership!

But a slap up dinner & party in a fancy London hotel for all Tory MPs?

Oh, go on…

EthelTheAardvark · 29/03/2022 23:20

The existence of war can't be an automatic Get Out of Jail Free card for Johnson. As I've seen pointed out elsewhere, we managed to change our Prime Minister at the point when Europe was exploding and we were about to be invaded, that didn't go too badly for us.

UnconditionalSurrender · 30/03/2022 09:02

I started reading about partygate again yesterday but I couldn't get past the whole no 10 says Johnson hasn't formally accepted any laws were broken despite the fact that fines have been issues. Its a fucking parallel universe and it makes me want to weep.

DuncinToffee · 30/03/2022 09:03

Raab's get out of jail card for Johnson is

‘He spoke to the best of his knowledge and understanding’
