Because 7.5 is nearly full and we’re still waiting.

Wow, that photo of Truss is breathtakingly vile. What the fuck is the purpose of it? Are we all supposed to feel proud of her or something?

DuncinToffee · 27/02/2022 10:44

That Kevin Foster deleted tweet says it all Angry Johnson and Truss act as suspected, photo opportunities.

CryingAtTheDiscotheque · 27/02/2022 10:44

Everything about that photo - the flags, the sneer, the camera angle - makes me nauseous.

Such a telling contrast with the authenticity and genuine heroism of the Ukrainian president.

cakeorwine · 27/02/2022 10:56

Thanks for this.

I do wonder when the police fines will come out?
It may be buried under the news - but we still have elections in this country in May and we still have a cost of living crisis.

Johnson should remember that Churchill lost the election in 1945 because Atlee had a vision for the UK including actions that led to the formation of the NHS.

So he may turn out to be more like Churchill than he hopes for.

DuncinToffee · 27/02/2022 11:31
Ukraine will by saved by Johnson, who is now on the frontline according to this unintentionally hilarious tweet.

Cllr Joe Porter 🇬🇧 (@JoePorterUK) Tweeted:
Our Prime Minister @BorisJohnson on the frontline with our Armed Forces coordinating the UK's response to the invasion of Ukraine. True global leadership! 🇬🇧🇺🇦 #StandWithUkriane t.co/FVf8j3QLQs twitter.com/JoePorterUK/status/1497694675850956802?s=20&t=xonHtnv8jOpk0X1FwYQ0OA
I thought that was joke account Shock

The video Johnson did speaking to the Russians on SM was dreadful. He was flushed and looked and sounded totally pissed. It was an abomination.
As for the Truss photo. Somebody should keep her away from a camera. I have to assume someone in her department has had the genius notion that if she's busy curating a statemanlike image in all these photoshoots she doesn't have time to do any actual damage doing her job. With the side benefit of her ending up looking like a total fanny.

DuncinToffee · 27/02/2022 14:03

Yes it was.

I read about the speech and was wondering why it wasn't celebrated by his supporters on here and then I watched the video......

ClaudineClare · 27/02/2022 15:54

I just watched that. God, cringeworthy. He looked even more of a scruff than usual too.

DePfeffoff · 27/02/2022 16:09

I'm beginning to wonder whether whoever set up that photo of Liz Truss was deliberately taking the piss, knowing she would look ludicrous. And also, of course, knowing that she's stupid enough to fall for it.

SueSaid · 27/02/2022 17:56

'The video Johnson did speaking to the Russians on SM was dreadful. He was flushed and looked and sounded totally pissed. It was an abomination.'

Think I've said it before on these threads bit it's funny how we all see things differently. Many people have said how brilliant this speech was but you think he was a bit.. 'flushed'. He didn't sound pissed to me either.

He is really coming across well in this crisis, leading when Germany dragged their heels about Swift. Must be tough for some negative contributors on threads like this when all you've to criticise is Bozo's messy hair and 'flushed' appearance oh and Truss looking 'vile'.

Notonthestairs · 27/02/2022 18:20

I'll accept this Goverment is serious about untangling itself from Russia/Russian money when it starts kicking out oligarchs and implements the recommendations of the Russia Report.

DuncinToffee · 27/02/2022 18:44

Germany 'dragged their feet' only for a few days, UK is still discussing further sanctions. I think the discussion is still planned for 7th March

@JaniieJones did you miss the police investigation into Boris Johnson's birthday party, at a time when he denied the opportunity for birthday parties to millions of children?

'did you miss the police investigation into Boris Johnson's birthday party, at a time when he denied the opportunity for birthday parties to millions of children?'

I think we've far more important things to be thinking about at the moment, don't you?

At least Pip Crerar and Brand have been quiet. It has been impressive to see real journalism in the media rather than their silly gossip.

DuncinToffee · 27/02/2022 19:52

No, we can think about more than one important issue at the same time. Both the PM and Chancellor of the Exchequer are now under police investigation.

has denied entry to a 69 yr old Ukrainian widow, fleeing the fighting in Kharkiv, to join her daughter in the UK. They suggested she apply for a visitor visa or remain in France, where she has no relatives & doesn’t speak French.

CryingAtTheDiscotheque · 27/02/2022 20:03

He is really coming across well in this crisis

He really really isn't!

HarrietPierce7 · 27/02/2022 20:11

Just compare the morally corrupt Buffoon who "leads" the UK with the gravitas and moral fortitude of Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

CryingAtTheDiscotheque · 27/02/2022 20:14

Exactly Harriet - he’s trying to align his image with Zelensky but the comparison could not be more stark - a bullshitting buffoon propped up by dirty money as opposed to a genuine and authentic leader displaying true bravery.

NEW: Boris Johnson announces Ukrainians in the UK will be able to bring their immediate family members to join them here from Ukraine.

Any other refugee from Ukraine fleeing war - apply via usual routes.

HarrietPierce7 · 27/02/2022 20:42

Johnson forced into a U turn by public pressure , and even now it's too bad if they don't have UK relatives.

DuncinToffee · 27/02/2022 20:50

He moved a bit, nowhere near a u-turn.

Well we had far more important things to worry about when he was having parties.

Things in our home soil, killing our citizens who were under lockdown whilst he did this.

This is also extremely important and needs to be handled correctly. My heart is with everyone in Ukraine or who has fled right now.

It's important we can trust our government to be doing their jobs - sober and rested and not hungover from various parties.

Notonthestairs · 27/02/2022 21:34

Misleading Parliament is not "silly gossip". We need to be able to trust our representatives not fear that they are obscuring and lying.
