Why as humans do we never ever learn? It’s always about testosterone and power and oil.

Fuck off with. Why was it possible for so many countries to pull together when COVID kicked off and now it’s back to slapping their balls on the table to see who has the biggest set.

It just all so unbelievably depressing.

*Fuck off with it.

sadpapercourtesan · 19/02/2022 22:21

Well, I'd disagree that the pandemic was a shining example of countries pulling together for the common good. We're still at risk of repeated variants and the same old merry-go-round, because governments couldn't rise above selfishness and greed to ensure the vaccines went to those who needed them most.

I don't think there is going to be much of a war, personally. But I do agree that the cock-swinging is depressing.

MiddleAgedAndMad · 19/02/2022 22:23

It's willy waving. Totally agree with you OP.

NaiceHamAndHugs · 19/02/2022 22:25

Lots of countries did seem to be able to agree, perhaps not unite in one big smiling happily ever after, but communication actually seemed to be possible. Why does it ALWAYS come back to dropping bombs?

OP posts:
Newbabynewhouse · 19/02/2022 22:26

Absolutely hate it...i dislike the human race! We have ruined the world and we will never learn...

RoseslnTheHospital · 19/02/2022 22:27

Absolutely agree with you. You'd think we'd be able to make some forwards progress towards enlightenment but nope, still about power, money, control, ego...

Rosebuud · 19/02/2022 22:28

I also agree with you op. I’m concerned about it to be honest. I really hope he pulls back but it seems less and less likely every day.

FourChimneys · 19/02/2022 22:32

Anyone else wish more women were in charge of the world? There would be far less willy waving for a start.

Ahhbiscuits · 19/02/2022 22:41

I got a BBC news alert on my phone saying “Russia plans biggest war in Europe since 1945” and it shook me tbh. Then I saw it was from Boris who you can’t believe anything he says anyway. Personally think it’s quite a reckless scaremongering thing to say if they aren’t absolutely sure that Russia are planning that, but nevertheless it is in the back of my mind and it is worrying.

YouCantTourniquetTheTaint · 19/02/2022 22:43

Yup, they're just dick swinging, trying to see who has the biggest chipolata, Putin thinks his is the biggest but its just a sad flaccid little maggot.

Women should be running the world, seriously. We absolutely should be. Men have had their chance and the world is a fucking mess, and as always women are left to clean it up. There would be no dick swinging, just solutions.

Yes, I got this alert too. Now I need to switch them off and be blissfully ignorant again because who cares what Boris says, and if war has not been declared, why alert people to such a statement. Disgusting.
TheHateIsNotGood · 19/02/2022 22:45

It is actually built up in the media to be more than it is - to distract us from our more pressing concerns closer to home (inflation, prices, 'impropriety', weather, etc,etc,etc..).

Rather miraculously, once there's a bit of positive 'Home News', Putin will be off doing his Putin-stuff much more quietly in our media's reporting.

I completely agree OP, just fuck off with this war shit.

I got that as well and now feel terrified but yeah BoJo is full of shit normally so let's hope
Rosebuud · 19/02/2022 22:46

I also got that alert and it scared me too.

candycane222 · 19/02/2022 22:47

Absolutely. They are all idiots - puffing themselves up like a bunch of pathetic little bantam cocks.

EllaB22 · 19/02/2022 22:50

I agree OP, it is so depressing.

I do worry about it everytime I see/hear Russia stories.

TheSillyMastiff · 19/02/2022 22:50

I mean Russia are escalating this, we've gone from 100,000 troops on the border to 170,000 - 190,000

I feel so genuinely worried and sorry for the people of Ukraine. I mean we're all sat here in the safety of the UK feeling concerned, can you imagine what it must feel like for a family about 10miles south of the border or something. I'd be absolutely petrified. Poor people.

So true, it is unthinkable.
Crowdfundingforcake · 19/02/2022 22:55

Yup. Male hubris. Putin won't back down because he's Heeeee man, tough guy. Johnson is happy with anything that takes attention away from his piss poor leadership/Downing Street parties etc.

Just stick all these male willy wavers on an island in the middle of nowhere and tell them to fight it out amongst themselves.

The fact that they're prepared for innocent people to die to prove their toughness tells you all you need to know.

Pathetic.

Sunwillcomeout · 19/02/2022 23:00

100% agree. utterly, painfully, pathetic.

GreenTeaPingPong · 19/02/2022 23:07

OP, imagine you're made British prime minister overnight, what do you do about the situation? Withdraw the UK from NATO? Ignore Ukraine's pleas for help? Send British troops to fight Russia (which by the way, we're not doing)? Believe Putin when he says he's not going to invade? Tell your voters that you're not going to get involved in any foreign wars - like Trump did?

It's easy to criticise, less easy to think of a solution to an actually very complex problem.

What I find depressing is how authoritarian, corrupt leaders like Putin manage to stay in power, as do other dictators.

WeeWeeMe · 19/02/2022 23:09

I guess when it comes to bullying and subjugating weaker, smaller neighbours this country doesn't have such a great record.

dangerrabbit · 19/02/2022 23:11

Military industrial complex.

Britain is largest exporter of weapons in the world and needs them to be used so they can sell more.

LoveFall · 19/02/2022 23:12

It is a totally pathetic he-man game. I agree with the willy-waving.

Cut it out you idiots (especially the chief willy-waver).

Nothing good will ever come of this.

But sadly, my visit to Russia a few years ago left me more cynical than I ever could have imagined. Heard all about how Russians like Putin because he is strong to fend off all the evil threats to Russia. Not to mention looking at tombs of the Czars and the guide gesturing to a spot that could be for Putin.

When will they ever learn?

Staffy1 · 19/02/2022 23:12

I agree. Sick of a few idiots in power deciding everyone’s fate.
