Feeling very envious today. Friend is about to set off on a cruise for 14nights.

Cant stop thinking about it and them.

Can you put me off please?

Tell me some downsides of cruises.

A portable Petri dish? Not even if I had a gun to my head would I book one of those

millymolls · 19/02/2022 16:38

God no. Can’t think why anyone would want to

Overcrowded, and can’t get off !

Seymour5 · 19/02/2022 16:39

Not at all.

Totalwasteofpaper · 19/02/2022 16:39

😂😂😂
Floating norovirus toilets.

I would struggle to he jealous of that.

Regularsizedrudy · 19/02/2022 16:40

I’d rather stick hot pins in my eyes than go on a cruise.

Windbeneathmybingowings · 19/02/2022 16:40

No absolutely not.

Looking out at the infinite blackness of sea merging in to sky at night.
Prescribed fun.
Got to be back on board at x time or they sail without you, who needs pressure like that on holiday.
The tips.
Everyone dressed up all the time, so exhausting.
Sea sickness.
Same shit every day.
Pirates.
Whirlpools.
And finally The Kraken.

tiredanddangerous · 19/02/2022 16:40

Hell no! Can't think of a worse way to have a holiday tbh

formalineadeline · 19/02/2022 16:41

Not really. Why are you jealous?

Sportslady44 · 19/02/2022 16:41

what about all the good things though lol the entertainment, the being at sea, the different countries!!!

ProfYaffle · 19/02/2022 16:41

Oh God no. They look like floating shopping centres to me.

Windbeneathmybingowings · 19/02/2022 16:41

Different countries you can only explore the port of. And be back on time or else.

BiscuitLover3678 · 19/02/2022 16:41

Doesn’t appeal to me at all! Horrible tiny rooms for so much money. You are literally stuck with the same people and if you get sick you are literally trapped in your room, can’t go anywhere! So far from any hospital.
Op have you ever got seasick? It’s awful.

Honestly claustrophobic central!

vodkaredbullgirl · 19/02/2022 16:41

No

GougeAway · 19/02/2022 16:41

I’d be jealous they could afford it but not jealous of the actual holiday. I need my own space on holiday.

Windbeneathmybingowings · 19/02/2022 16:42

The entertainment reminds of the local working mens club, sorry, it’s cringe.

Billybagpuss · 19/02/2022 16:42

Can’t think of anything worse, and environmentally destructive.

1 day on a cruise ship has the same environmental impact as 1 million cars your carbon footprint trebles in size.

KellyJonesLeatherTrousers · 19/02/2022 16:42

Nope, never fancied one. Jealousy is in general a waste of time emotion, can’t you just be happy for your friend.

BiscuitLover3678 · 19/02/2022 16:42

You barely see the countries op. People who actually want to see countries don’t go on cruises.

ForgedInFire · 19/02/2022 16:42

Yes, I do! It's one of my dreams in life to go on a cruise. I love the idea. My dad went on one a couple of years ago and I was so jealous. I'm jealous of most people going on holiday though Blush

DramaAlpaca · 19/02/2022 16:42

I love cruises but no, I don't get jealous when I hear of someone going on one.

seekinglondonlife · 19/02/2022 16:42

Absolutely not. My idea of a nightmare.

SickAndTiredAgain · 19/02/2022 16:42

Where’s the cruise? I’ve never really seen the appeal but it depends whether it stops in interesting places. I’d want a cruise to be more a way of travelling between places I wanted to go, rather than a holiday where the focus was staying on the ship which sounds very dull.

mnahmnah · 19/02/2022 16:43

Industrial ports and having little time to explore the nicer bits inland

The amount of illness outbreaks you hear of

Seeing the same annoying people with no escape

PiesNotGuys · 19/02/2022 16:43

How about all the deaths and disappearances on cruise ships? That and their dubious record on investigating crimes and problems aboard due to jurisdiction issues.

This! There is some really creepy stuff about cruises out there. Also because you’re often in international waters the uk police can’t investigate.

The people who work on cruise ships are avoiding being part of a country…
