Watching now.

Surprised he isn't saying that he didn't write the laws. That's the defence on here from some people.

ClaudineClare · 20/02/2022 09:45

Mr Johnson said: "There is literally not a bean I can tell you about that."

He really is a prick, isn't he.

Maggiethecat · 20/02/2022 09:47

On Sunday Morning, despite Sophie’s persistent question on whether BJ will resign if found to have broken the rules he persists “there’s not a bean I can tell you.....”
😂

ClaudineClare · 20/02/2022 09:48

Why is she letting him waffle on?

cakeorwine · 20/02/2022 09:48

Interview is all about deflection from Johnson

Maggiethecat · 20/02/2022 09:49

Just seen all of your posts about the bean 😂

Funny how that one line jumped at us all!!

ClaudineClare · 20/02/2022 09:50

He is absolutely deluded about Britain's place (and his) on the world stage.

AuldAlliance · 20/02/2022 09:52

"Not a bean"... what a dickhead.
Reminds me of what Martin Rowson said about BJ when he was (a very poor) editor of The Spectator:

cakeorwine · 20/02/2022 09:54

That's the quote.

A great British public who follow the rules.

I don't think he realises the damage he's done.

Maggiethecat · 20/02/2022 09:55

Talking about Covid going forward it’s so obvious that he just makes things up on the hoof!!

Where is his authority?!!

ClaudineClare · 20/02/2022 10:00

Johnson really does live in a bubble of self-love. It is frightening. He genuinely thinks he is a respected and admired world-class leader. Any one who criticises him about anything is just being mean minded.

Peregrina · 20/02/2022 10:04

Just as an aside - I love Martin Rowson's cartoons and his furcups.

CryingAtTheDiscotheque · 20/02/2022 10:06

Sophie Raworth really isn't great is she
I suppose that is why Johnson agreed to the interview

DuncinToffee · 20/02/2022 10:11

It was a pre recorded interview, too cowardly to go live.

cakeorwine · 20/02/2022 10:14

@CryingAtTheDiscotheque

Sophie Raworth really isn't great is she I suppose that is why Johnson agreed to the interview
When Nick Robinson told Johnson to 'stop talking' as Johnson was doing his 'this is what we really want to talk about', the Tory media went ape shit.
Maggiethecat · 20/02/2022 10:19

@CryingAtTheDiscotheque - I did think that too and wonder if inevitably she’s being compared to Andrew.

I noticed her eventual crossed arm posture when he wouldn’t respond.

But also noticed that he became a bit rattled and was probably restraining himself from telling her where to stuff the bean!

cakeorwine · 20/02/2022 10:24

He did become cross. Imagine if it was a live interview and someone just pushed his buttons enough.....

CryingAtTheDiscotheque · 20/02/2022 10:49

Yes he was a bit petulant.
So frustrating when he is allowed to deflect and waffle out his prepared lines...
More in today's Sunday Times about Ben Elliott's appointments unit in number 10, funnelling plum jobs to big Tory donors.

AuldAlliance · 20/02/2022 11:21

When he gets rattled, it becomes clear that beneath the buffoonish exterior lurks a very nasty, potentially violent individual.
In this interview, he trots out his lines and when the interviewer keeps coming back to ask whether he would consider resigning, his mask slips for a moment (around 8:55 mins)

10 minutes of him avoiding to answer, it has subtitles for those who can't stand listening to the smirking clown

It's his way. He smirks when he thinks he's getting away with a lie or a well-rehearsed answer which avoids the question, but if he's cornered - either caught in a lie or without a prepared avoidance response - the mask slips and we see what a truly nasty piece of work he is.
cakeorwine · 20/02/2022 12:39

Have people seen Michael Spicer - the man in the room next door?

I bet he is preparing his video now on this.

I agree - his mask slips and you can see him getting annoyed. I wonder what would happen if someone on here interviewed him and just told him to answer the question and not go off on a tangent?

And then challenged him on his lies with the actual data.

itsgettingweird · 20/02/2022 12:41

Yes the Buffoon act is slipping quite a lot.

He's showing a side of him that's worse than that - we know he's got narcissistic tendencies but he's showing a potentially nasty side.

Actually makes me wonder what he's like behind closed doors. How does he treat his staff or his wife and children?

DuncinToffee · 20/02/2022 12:45

He has shown that nasty side plenty of times before but people laughed it off.

Michael Spicer's room next door videos are brilliant.
