@ClaudineClare

I am worried some opportunistic reporter might get the thread zapped if I say anything further and this thread ends up being a TAAT Boody. That would be a shame so perhaps we should just move on.
No problem, CC, it was obvious from the huge cloud of prevarication that the claimed statements do not exist.

A QC’s view twitter.com/crimlawuk/status/1492520495916503045?s=21

Seems about right

ClaudineClare · 13/02/2022 09:19

Morning BD. If you send me a questionnaire about the posts we were all referring to, I will have my lawyer fill in it.

CryingAtTheDiscotheque · 13/02/2022 09:21

Nobody’s here to do your research for you boody
I recall those statements too
You can spend your Sunday searching for them if so inclined - Inimagine most people have better things to do

No, what we established is that no-one is going to do the basic homework for you when you can't be bothered.

ClaudineClare · 13/02/2022 09:28

I wonder if Carrie also has a lawyer?

Johnson is just digging himself a deeper grave. Even if his lawyers get him off, the public will not forget how he made fools of us all. I just hope people still remember by the time the next GE comes around.

Johnson is disgusting and I don't know how anyone with a smidge of decency, compassion or integrity can defend him. It turns my stomach.

DuncinToffee · 13/02/2022 09:36

Spread your wings Boody and explore the labyrinth that is MN

I am being ambushed by coffee and croissants, morning all Brew

Notonthestairs · 13/02/2022 09:38

I do remember the #belikeJosephine posts - much wriggling because it wasn't a party it just had events staff, M&S party food and the official photographer. Johnson was only there long enough to swig from a tinny and get his photo with Sunak before heading in to v important meeting. The rest were left to celebrate without him supposedly.

But it didn't matter because Josephine could have had a party for 6 social distanced outside come rain ☔️ or shine.

No I'm not trawling 6,500 posts to find them.

Notonthestairs · 13/02/2022 09:40

In fairness the MN search function is practically unusable.

BoodyDedalus · 13/02/2022 09:44

Worrying that Priti Patel is trying to exclude London mayor from process of replacing the met chief. ( According to Sunday Times).

Sadiq Khan has already said that he will not support any Commissioner who is not committed to reform of the Met. While he cannot block an appointment, no Commissioner could work without the confidence of The Mayor's Office for Policing And Crime - as we saw in the resignation of Cressida Dick.

Mind you, the scene is probably set for a mighty battle between Priti Patel and Sadiq Khan.

BoodyDedalus · 13/02/2022 09:47
I have already said that I have not asked for reading material, but details of specific posts containing the claimed text. You have not found any, so what is the point of typing out all that stuff?
ClaudineClare · 13/02/2022 09:49

The consequences of Johnson's slur against Starmer seem to be intensifying.

Actually, this can go on the next thread so people can read back and track the fall of Johnson and the defence some people put up.

So it's a useful exercise for future events,

"If it emerges that the Prime Minister did mislead the House on 8 December, I cannot see how he can remain in post. It would suggest that Parliament no longer cares whether Ministers tell the truth. At that point, any ministerial statement in Parliament becomes meaningless. /6"

Very good thread on the importance or non importance of FPN - short version it's not about FPN it's the misleading Parliament that matters.

Do you work for the Met Police? You won't investigate for yourself unless it's handed to you on a plate.

True.

And Johnson should know that. He said that all guidance was followed. In the House.

Are you suggesting that the person who made the false claim should be investigated by the Met? Shock
AuldAlliance · 13/02/2022 09:55

I did the homework.
But I asked for it to be pulled, as it was akin to being goaded in TAAT activity, and we all know what happens then...
It took me about 3 mins, TBH. It involved the English word for gâteau and the name of one or two BJ fans.

DuncinToffee · 13/02/2022 09:56

Never mind Boody, here is a tenner and now do one.

Boris Johnson is paying a lawyer to find a loophole to escape from a law which Boris Johnson made up.

ClaudineClare · 13/02/2022 09:57

Boody why are you so obsessed with being provided with evidence of statements that were posted before you joined MN?

Anyway, if you do want to search, doing it via Google is often easier than using MN's creaky old search function.

Interesting

If a thread is a follow on to a thread, is it a TAAT.

Looks like I have found a loophole in the guidance

I was one of many who could not understand why Tony Blair did not resign after misleading parliament over weapons of mass destruction. But he didn't, and thus a precedent was set.

Ooh, the thread's off to a promising start today.
Looking forward to further cuttingly logical debate.
