What the title says.

This will be the one where he resigns, so if please keep the whatabout to a minimum.

Jumping on, and thanks for making a new thread as well as keeping going this far. Mind you, not getting any of my architrave stripped with all this going on...

CSWife · 04/02/2022 14:22

Hooray. Thanks @jgw1

I too keep checking to see if he's going, going, gone yet.

jgw1 · 04/02/2022 14:23

I like that currently 75% of voters think that I am being unreasonable.

Hopefully 🤣
longwayoff · 04/02/2022 14:40

Can I ask anyone who knows, if lots of Tories are booted out in May, are we expecting that there will then be Labour councils all over the shop who will be taking the blame for increasing council tax to cover all the extra costs caused by covid? I'm assuming, if things remain as they are, that Sunak won't be loosening the purse strings to facilitate this.

In which case we need to be careful not to fill this thread up with what about squirrels.

I can’t be sure because I’ve dipped in and out but I don’t think I’m a squirrel? Please confirm either way 😂

FindingMeno · 04/02/2022 14:44

It's like the build up to Christmas!!

iklboo · 04/02/2022 14:46

I've just heard about the Jimmy Savile debacle & watched the clip. It was like watching a load of schoolboy. I was half expecting a 'Your Mum' comment, followed by 'My dad's bigger than your dad'. In what world did he event begin to think that comment was appropriate?!

NiceShrubbery · 04/02/2022 14:53

Good idea OP, let's get some enjoyment in before his successor is announced.

Smiles will be frozen across the land from Penzance to... Aberdeen? Does Scotland even care?

He won't resign. Ever. He's too arrogant and believes absolutely that it is his god given birthright to rule over us. So he'll only go when he's thrown out. And not even then if he thinks he can get away with it.

CryingAtTheDiscotheque · 04/02/2022 15:18

Thanks for the new thread.
Picking up on the discussion about the 1922, this from Dmitry Grozoubinski made me wince/smile twitter.com/DmitryOpines/status/1489342363998867458

14 December 2022 - No. 10 consists of Boris Johnson, Lord Moylan, Lulu Lytle and Rishi Sunak there for a different meeting. Most of the country is in flames for warmth. The UK is in a trade war with the EU, US, and somehow Chad.

The number of "No Confidence" letters rises to 19.

TokyoSushi · 04/02/2022 15:18

Checking in! I think there's still a fair few threads to go, gah!

Yes I saw that earlier too, hideous! The 'Rishi Sunak - there for a different meeting' made me chuckle though!
DuncinToffee · 04/02/2022 15:21

Aaron Bell has handed in his letter to Graham Brady

TokyoSushi · 04/02/2022 15:22

Sky News reporting another letter has gone in, Aaron Bell MP(?) for Newcastle Under Lyme. It really is death by a thousand cuts!

TokyoSushi · 04/02/2022 15:22

Surely, surely we must be getting close?
GreenLunchBox · 04/02/2022 15:23

Boris will never resign. He won't want to have served less time than Gordon Brown and he's got over a hundred days left. You KNOW he's arrogant enough for this to be on his mind

Part 6 A thread for the continued enjoyment of Boris' downfall, enjoyment being important
thecatfromjapan · 04/02/2022 15:27

I'm here.

I somehow picture the letters to the 1922 as some kind of big clock, in a room filled with the sound of its heavy ticking. The machinery driving the hands is vast and heavy; the minute hand is huge - it seems impossible that machinery and hands can be working together, rather than counter-acting each other with their immense weight.

But the ticking falls through the air, and the minute hand is pulled minutely, yet inexorably, towards the zenith of the clock face.

I think he won’t resign because
  1. he doesn’t think he did anything wrong
  2. he can’t comprehend why others are upset, therefore their feelings can’t be genuine. They are all just ‘getting hit under the collar’ or playing politics.
