Really ‘I share your pain’! Who is kidding and he knows full well we know how rich they are. His wife is worth 174 million and he is worth a few million himself. This government is disgusting. Slow clap for voting for a bunch of criminals

Exactly my thoughts when I heard him today. Shit measures he's introducing too.

the80sweregreat · 03/02/2022 20:48

He self serving, a typical Conservative just out for himself.

Poetrypatty · 03/02/2022 20:48

He has no clue. Probably never even met an actual poor person.

the80sweregreat · 03/02/2022 20:57

Nope, I bet he has an awful temper and always gets his own way all the time
Nobody needs twelve houses, I think that this winds me up more than anything else about him and it's not envy, just the greed of having all this whilst he is trying to know how normal people actually live day to day and it must be impossible for him to do this because he can't have the first clue.

Cheesecakeandwineinasuitcase · 03/02/2022 21:03

Well he won’t be personally affected by the price hikes will he? Drop in the ocean to him.

evilharpy · 03/02/2022 21:06

I'm tying myself up in knots by thinking about how much I despise him, and his whole fucking party. The absolute hypocrisy. "I share your pain." He makes my skin crawl.

AnneLovesGilbert · 03/02/2022 21:08

Really embarrassing. He enjoyed a hell of a bounce when all he did was chuck out cash our great grandkids will be paying back but the party’s over. Tone deaf, snarky, self satisfied and living in a fluffy gilded bubble of utter privilege.

evilharpy · 03/02/2022 21:12

@AnneLovesGilbert your last sentence there is absolutely bang on.

VikingOnTheFridge · 03/02/2022 21:23

Yep. Fuck him.
truthfullylying · 03/02/2022 21:26

It is such a worrying time and I am sick of these ultra-privileged people pretending they give a shit.

CMZ2018 · 03/02/2022 21:32

Can’t do right for doing wrong can he? What do you want him to say? ‘I am considerably richer than yow’ or should he move into a council house in some shit hole estate and live on pot noodles before you’re happy?

ilovesooty · 03/02/2022 21:34

He said "I feel your pain"? Shock

Disgusting.

AnneLovesGilbert · 03/02/2022 21:35

What do you want him to say?

That he’ll cut VAT on fuel bills, which Spain has done and Johnson said they’d do.

To cut the green levy, as other countries have done.

Not to pretend he’s doing us a fucking favour when we’ll all be paying it back anyway.

Not to pretend he’s a man of the people and to acknowledge his fucking privilege.

It’s a choice to use expressions like “I understand” and “we’re putting our arms around the nation” and when you know you’re lying through your teeth and you and everyone else knows it you can just use different words and avoid looking like a condescending prick.

I’m sure other people have more suggestions but that’s off the top of my head.

truthfullylying · 03/02/2022 21:38

He did have enough cash to give a big tax cut to banks though, so definitely got his priorities right Angry

DontWantTheRivalry · 03/02/2022 21:41

I used to like him…..but seeing him today during Question Times and on the briefing all I could think was, “What a clueless, sly twat he is.”

Nauseating is the perfect word to describe him.

TeaandHobnobs · 03/02/2022 21:41

I agree that his self-marketing style is utterly nauseating, and I think it really backfires for him.
Also it is very galling for someone so absurdly rich to be attempting to sound like he understands life for “normal” people.

BUT I have a friend who knows him well, and says he is actually a very nice kind generous man, and as a kid he used to wait tables in the curry restaurant, so it is not as if he has led a life from birth with a silver spoon in his mouth.

Regardless of how centrist his position is (compared to the bulk of the Tories), the left will always detest him for his extreme wealth, surely?!

truthfullylying · 03/02/2022 22:06

Those bloody sliders annoyed me too!

truthfullylying · 03/02/2022 22:07

Regardless of how centrist his position is (compared to the bulk of the Tories) He is not centrist, economically he is harsh

GreenClock · 03/02/2022 22:19

I was a floating voter before. In December 2019 I prevaricated before finally voting Labour. So I’m not a particular lefty. But the pandemic has changed me. I’m utterly fed up with this Cabinet and its privilege. The way they blithely raise National Insurance. The failure to address the energy crisis. The lockdown lawbreaking and subsequent lies (Johnson, not Sunak in fairness). The covid contracts to their mates. They’re disgusting. I want rid.

GeneGenie123 · 03/02/2022 22:22

Well hopefully people will wake up and realise what a bunch of c**ts the Tory party are. It’s really no great surprise 🤷🏻‍♀️

Completely agree with you
Corcory · 03/02/2022 22:32

Sunak is the son of an immigrant Doctor and pharmacist. He got a scholarship. So not brought up to 'privilege' He is very bright. I think he meet his wife at Harvard. So she must be bright too. Not her fault she is the daughter of a billionaire.

Im2022 · 03/02/2022 22:37

What he said today about how he wouldn’t have said what Boris did really pissed me off. He was nodding his head, and braying like a donkey in support of the dick head a few days ago when he accused Starmer. How can he turn around and say he wouldn’t have done that? Fuck off you disgusting rich prick.

Cherrybomb197 · 03/02/2022 22:39

I don’t know... you can’t really “blame” him for being rich. He done well for himself (and married into a rich family). But being rich isn’t a fault unless you exploit others to get there

AuntyJanet · 03/02/2022 22:42

I don’t have a problem with him being rich. Hating someone because they’re rich is as bad as hating someone because they’re poor. What I do have an issue with is him pretending he feels everyone’s pain, like he’s worried about his gas bill too.
