Neighbour stole my delivery?

Have NC as I don't want this linked to my other posts. Could be outing.

I ordered a £600 item online. Normally when I order expensive items I have to give a code, which is sent via email, to the delivery driver.

I was out today and got an email to say my package had been delivered. There was a picture included, which was very obviously my neighbour.

I thought, great, that's fine! We often take parcels in for each other. When I went to collect it from her she denied all knowledge. I was a bit flustered trying to take the dogs/ shopping inside so I just said "oh okay there must be some mistake" and went into my house.

Now I've looked closer at the pic just to make sure and it's definitely her house, she must have jt!

What would you do? I don't want to accuse her of stealing, but.... ?

@RobertsRadio - Oh my god - thank you!!! I was starting to think I had imagined that other thread. (sorry for hijacking this thread).

RobertsRadio · 01/02/2022 14:07

@MuchuseasaChocolateTeapot and @LookItsMeAgain, you are both very welcome 😊

They were absolutely convinced it was tender so I asked them to explain why on earth tenderness would come into it,

Tenderness does also describe an emotional state, not only fondness but also vulnerability. I think as a misunderstanding it's actually one of the few kind of logical ones. It's not like chester, or blocker (flats)

I was aware of the term tender hooks from childhood because it was the name of an Australian movie in the 80s, the description as given above about tenderness and vulnerability is applicable to the name and theme of the film and I guess the person who wrote it was (maybe?) making a play on the misunderstanding

But anyway, waiting on tenterhooks would make way more sense if it meant being hung out to dry rather than waiting in wary anticipation, if you wanted to be entirely logical about it

Eleanr · 01/02/2022 14:49

I've just got home and the package was on my doorstep.

Raging!!! But happy to have it obviously.

Had it been opened?

LetsGoParty · 01/02/2022 14:51

This is why you need cctc or a
Ring doorbell

HangOnToYourself · 01/02/2022 14:53
Shock
LetsGoParty · 01/02/2022 14:55

OP. , you
May be raging but we still want to know if you could see the logos on the ibox in the photo and also if you still had the old photo from the delivery made 3 months ago.

If yes then you should go around and say how happy you are that it's been returned but still show her the photos. I wouldn't accuse her of anything but I'd make sure she knows you know...

Nosnogginginthekitchen · 01/02/2022 14:57

Ooh the cheeky mare! How did she think she'd get away with it?

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 01/02/2022 15:04

It is a miracle. 😉

Opus17 · 01/02/2022 15:04

Ah that'll be your police message, op! It would've scared them!

Itsnotover · 01/02/2022 15:05

Well. How foolish of her. To make bad feeling with someone she has to live right next to forever (possibly). For the sake of a £600 Dyson product.

I have literally no idea how someone can steal something and feel good about having it. No way on earth could I do it.

Wow what an amazing coincidence!
whenthedoveslie · 01/02/2022 15:19

Your neighbours tried it on. Probably hoping you would contact company and get another one (only say this because I have been shocked at the stories I have heard during pandemic over deliveries/replacements etc.)

Now you know who they are.

Eleanr · 01/02/2022 15:22

No you can't clearly see t he logos, it's a really bad quality photo, but I can make out where it is obviously.

@OneTC

Perhaps the parcel is hidden behind a chester draws?

I hope so. I really hope the neighbour doesn’t use a escape goat to get away with it!

With the benefit of Heinz sight she will handle this differently in future

She’ll be white as a sheep when she finds out.
MaggieFS · 01/02/2022 15:23

Well obviously the next time they are out, you won't be able to take in their parcels anymore will you.

CF!
